Just read what graeme poll mentioned about the refereeing decisions yesterday.
Basically Kevin Friend got every big decision wrong. As we already knew

Lukaku should not have received a yellow
Soldado should have had a straight red for his elbow on Jags
Coleman should have had a pen.

Kevin Friend, you are pants.

What did he have to say about Coleman on Vertonghen Toff? Call it curiosity, it's academic now, and for the record, and without a shred of bias, that was never a spot kick, if anything Vertonghen was pulling Coleman's shirt

Agree0 Disagree0

To be honest if it was for us I would of probably shouted for a pen but a the ref was woeful booked out players for having a go at the linesman but when the spurs players had a go at him and the linesman nothing it just seemed like the ref didn't want us getting anything out of the game first time ever I felt people don't want us in the champs league places.

Graeme Poll said that the foul on vertongen by Coleman was not a pen as vertongen was almost on the floor by the time Coleman made contact with him in the box. Kevin Friend didn't get that one right though as he was unsighted ;-)

Made that last bit up sorry, couldn't resist.

If Colemans was a pen so was theirs.

Agree with the first two. The Soldado one has really irked me. Imagine if Barton or Suarez did that retrospective action would be taken and he would be banned for 6 games or something. It does not matter if Jags went down like a big cry baby the intent was there is the connection was not. You just can't do that. Lucky escape for an over priced, over rated person

Does anyone know if we can appeal against Lukaku's yellow card? It was clearly an accident and should never have been given in the first place.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I agree.
{Ed025's Note - you know i cant print that name mate!

Agree0 Disagree0

Have the rules changed on appeals?
I thought you could only appeal a straight red.

Toffee ace {Ed002's Note - The rules are unchanged. The yellow stays.}

A few whispers of a takeover by a consortium led by a former board member yesterday, but no mention of redbull involvement. Anyone else hear anything?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

There where whispers around the time of the EGM that former CEO Keith Wyness was assembling a consortium to attempt a take over. He tweeted it at the time, from his retsub? account. Whether it was genuine or not is another matter

Just a quick note on the decision to drop Barkley for Ossie at the weekend. I have in the past been a huge supporter of leon and his little twinkle toes in and around the box, and his experience should normally prove invaluable in the premier league, but at the weekend he looked a little lost. He didn't link up with Lukaku and rarely if ever went past lukaku to offer the defenders something to think about. closing the spurs defenders was non existant, but you could see on a couple of occasions when we pressed higher up the field and closed their defenders down, particularly their centre backs we had some good results. wondered why we didn't do this all afternoon. Maybe the pace of the league is catching him up this season, but you could see the instant imact ross had when he came on the pitch and wondered if anybody knew the reason martinez dropped barkley. Still think ossie can play a bit part in our team, but surely if fit ross should be starting every game. On another note, Delefeou did well when he came on, is it about time he got given a start, especially with us up against palace next and maybe give distan a rest with playing stones too.
team to play palace for me:
howard
coleman jags stones baines
mirallas barry mccarthy delefeou
barkley
lukaku

if we are then winning comfortably bring on jelavic with lukaku and see if playing 2 up top would help jela find the net again! CRAIGHUYTONBLUE

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Do you have any idea about football Barkley needed a rest and osman has not been the same since last February for me he is a impact player coming off the bench but he did ok as for delefou he is still adjusting to the premiership and not ready to start games we can not afford to change the team just because we are playing palace

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Nov 2013 15:51:57
why did barkley need a rest. does that mean we drop baines for oviedo so he can have a rest, or jags for stones and distan for heitinga so they can have a rest. take your head for a wobble lad, he's a young lad and doesn't need a rest. we need our best team starting every week bar injuries and severe fatigue, other than that the only players I believe should be anywhere in need of a rest are distan and barry as they are both older than 30, even then distan is a model for fitness. CraigHuytonBlue

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think Barkley needed a breather, per se, he'd just been ineffective in the last few games over elaborating and dithering on the ball and maybe a watching brief may have done him some good, which may have been in Roberto's mind most likely.
Who knows, we don't see him in training every day but I think Ossie has a part to play coming off the bench in the latter stages of tight games.
Granville.

Agree0 Disagree0

Everyone knows I was a Moyes supporter, but am now giving Roberto my full backing. I said last week that Barkley needed a breather and I expected Osman to come into the team based on his performance last week. Managers pick in form players and Osman clearly gave a better performance than Barkley in recent weeks. Remember Barkley is only young and also remember Osman is not quite past it yet. Both are Everton players and both will have more contributions to make this season. Please stop writing players off before their time and stop bringing in others before their time. One man picks the side and in my view he has done pretty well so far. Every one of us would pick a different team to the others. Remember Roberto is watching training all week before he picks the team.

Agree0 Disagree0

Barkley's first season as a first teamer of course he needed a breather he is still learning and what utter crap bringing up dropping baines for oviedo Baines has played top flight football for most of his career ya person that has nowt to to with Barkley needing to be taking out of he firing line

Agree0 Disagree0

So basically Degsy is saying: do not post anything on team selection or the future of a current player. Ultimately the manager makes all the decisions so there is no need for the discussion on here if the opinion dares to question the status quo. In that case, there's probably no need for a banter site is there. This is why I do not sign up and leave a name. I have many opinions but am put off by the way people react to innocent things. The OP has put some time into that post, I thought it was decent. Certainly didn't think it warranted the good old 'do you know anything about football' quip from the first response.

Agree0 Disagree0

There's always a few that resort to petty, immature insults, like 'do you even watch the game' or calling people fools or clueless for having a different opinion. No need for it, without naming names, you know who you are.

Agree0 Disagree0

Deulofeu still seems too light-weight for a starting place IMHO and I'd still prefer Pienaar for the time being.

I know Ed002 is helping out when he edits our page for Ed025, but does anyone else get the impression he doesn't like us Evertonians much? {Ed025's Note - he is a very fair and honest guy tezza, and he knows his stuff...i dont think he treats any teams supporters differently mate, but thats just my opinion..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I haven't seen him say anything bad towards us on here. Ed025 knows him better than any of us.his replies may look a little abrupt and to the point but its no biggie.why skirt around things when you can just get straight to the point.

I have seen his replies on the other pages Tezza and he treats us all the same mate, just got a dry sense of humour I think

Fair enough, lads. Maybe I was being a bit oversensitive! Apologies to Ed002. {Ed002's Note - Oversensitive? A soft toffee perhaps?}

I knew you had a sense of humour Ed, us Blues will cheer you up mate

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought it was a bit of a status thing? The lower the 00 number the bigger their meat and two veg. Ed001 could come on here and call us whatever he likes! Think they all have their own style though and our Eds got a decent balance. got to take into consideration the clubs they support too. We are quite barbed on this banter page. Which Ed is the Chelsea one? We've lured him out his nest before. I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't like us much and certainly won't begrudge him a poke back when I say the majority of us Evertonians think both Chelsea and its fan base are a complete joke. The nouveau riche boyzzz who seem to think they have achieved something great in the last decade. No matter it's a result of money from a bent Russian oligarch who uses our country to dump his corrupt financial waste through our tax system. I've already booked my front row seat with ssn for when that false empire comes crashing down.

I think but am not sure, ed002 is chelsea but why hank have a pop at his club like you have just done.theres nothing wrong with chelsea.so they have a russian bilionaire.would you complain if we did.i think not.give it a rest.he helps out on this site when ed025 ain't available

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry dentielad, I hate Chelsea. I can have a pop at whoever I please sir.

Personally I think its time to play super kev and delboy together. Your not going to get a better chance than next week. He deserves a chance to start

agree to start delefeou. he has looked promising when he has came on, again at the weekend and almost got a goal but for some good goalkeeping. I understand he is greedy with the ball and can lose it sometimes, but when it clicks it will be so rewarding. he certainly is a little messi in the making, full of potential. craighuytonblue

Agree0 Disagree0

I think the 'super' is wearing a bit thin - looks moody and inneffective to me at the moment

doesnt seem to like the players around him - if they don't pass to him he gets annoyed but he's as greedy as they come so no wonder he gets fewer passes back

Agree0 Disagree0

Think Kev needs to be benched at the moment, I think Naismith could turn in more effective displays than him at the moment, though there's always the chance Mirallas will produce some magic at any moment.
Though he hasn't been at the races at all so far this season and looks like he's lacking the desire. He's been a peripheral figure in too many games.

Poor performance yesterday never got going at all, how much do people think Jelavic will be sold for?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We were awful at first but the wet pitch and greasy ball didn't help, both sets of players were failing to control the ball properly with their first touch, I couldn't understand why they then watered the pitch at half time.
The referee didn't help either, he didn't let the game flow and made some shocking decisions against us which interrupted our game.
For me that was one of the most inept refereeing performances I've ever seen, he clearly didn't know what he was doing, as the street end so very kindly pointed out to him.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think you have to give Spurs some credit they are as good a side as we shall play at Goodison this season. They came with a game plan that we struggled to cope with for the first half hour, second half performance was much better. {Ed025's Note - it was mate..but we have to start with a higher tempo for me, the game could have been over by half time!..

Agree0 Disagree0

Newcastle first half is how we should be looking to start EVERY game.
Hank {Ed025's Note - i agree hank..

Hey Ed, I see you pulled Mike Ox-longs post because of abuse? Surely you can leave in the non abusive posts? And maybe even give a yellow card to those who do abuse before banning them from the site with a red card for persistent abuse?
Being part of EFC is an emotive way of life but we should all stick together and abuse not be tolerated.
Degsypulford {Ed002's Note - I don't have the time to think about these type of issues. If a post starts attracting abuse I will delete it. You need to accept that.}
