Personally I think Moyes will stay. If he does go, I wouldn't mind McCoist and Weir as assistant.

Believable1 Unbelievable13

Even worse than Lennon that suggestion is.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ally McCoist?
I hope your being sarcastic with that suggestion. He would need Walter Smith to hold his hand. And we all know how bad a job he done with us.

Yes, he could bankrupt another club. Such an over -rated manager! Look what he did to Southampton, Portsmouth, West Ham.

Just a comment in answer to somebody who criticised Pienaar this season. Basically saying that he has been rubbish this year and it was a waste of time bringing him back.

Well this year he has scored 5 PL goals with 7 assists add that to the 4 PL goals and 7 assists that he got at the back end of last season. This means that he has been directly involved in 23 goals in just over a year.

When you consider that Everton have only found the back of the net 47 times this season. Being involved in 23 in a year does not seem that bad, does it?

He also rarely gives the ball away and according to stats has won 78 free kicks (in comp Bale has won 55). He works hard in the defensive areas and helps bring Baines into play and all you have to do is look at Baines' stats from last yr and this yr to see the difference he makes there as well.

Is he Mata, Silva, Hazard, Cazorla etc. well know but he also cost a fraction of the money!
I find it hard to believe anyone could be so negative towards our second most creative player this season!
What do you think Ed025?

aflm78 {Ed025's Note - i think your Right mate, he has set the bar very high, and when he has an average game people look for flaws, good player who gives 100% for me..

Believable13 Unbelievable2

Very good post that aflm. Agree with you completely. I don't think Pienaar has played as well as he would have liked to this season but he contributes so much to the team.

Agree0 Disagree0

Even if he scored and assisted 0 goals it wouldn't matter as the amount of times he has assisted Bainesy so he could assist a goal is amazing. Bainesaar = best left sided partnership to have graced the Prem. Period.

Agree0 Disagree0

It was me that critiqued him. Those stats are interesting, however his job in the team is to create and score and lack of goals from the team directly comes from him, Jelavic, Mirallas and Osman/Fellaini.
If Mirallas had been fit all season he would have been involved in more goals, he is 26 and cost 6. Pienaar cost 5 (don't say we sold for 3. 5 so only 1. 5) and is 31. I personally feel that if there are Mirallas' available for similar money getting Pienaar back was a waste. I want more for Everton than 7th, this is where we finish with Pienaar as our creative spark. He does work hard, he does do a job but therenny mate are more dynamic, faster younger players out there. So yes Pienaar has been about as good as he always has been but I want more from one of only 2 or 3 players in the squad we look to for creativity and goals. I appreciate it can be seen as negative, and not many will agree its just my opinion that 5mill for us was wasted bringing him back.
Svenny {Ed025's Note - bit harsh that svenny mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

Hey Svenny, yes you are right there are certainly more dynamic, younger players out there.

However, we either can't afford them or attract them (due to lack of CL football etc. ) And I will agree that he has had some less than inspiring performances during the year. But to say that it was a waste of time bringing him back is harsh imo.

Even when he has a bad game he is still better than a lot of other players in his position and rarely loses possession. And unlike some of the supposedly better players, he seems to love the club and love playing here and that also counts for something! Anyway here's hoping for a BIG performance by the lads tomorrow! COYB!

P. S thanks for taking the time to answer Ed025 :)

Agree0 Disagree0

Two good posts here of which I am sat firmly on the the middle.

Peanut loves it here and has had some outstanding performances. Away to Swansea he was outstanding. But there have also been some howlers, usually when all 11 are under performing. Svenny wants the same as us all - players who will shine when the others are struggling. Sadly these are the players who only play for CL teams.

I personally was chuffed to see him return as I'm sure was Bainsey and let's be honest we would be in a worse league position had we not have bothered.

With a bit of luck this summer might see us improving the squad to have some young competition who can do a job there too

Please not oneil just because he is Like a demented leprechaun on the line don't Make him a good manager. I could manage celtic other than That his record is Average at best. That goes for Lennon aswell and arry crooked redknap shouldn't be allowed anywhere near goodison. If DM goes and I hope not then thereare plenty of good yYoung managers That deserve a chance Like Zola, poyet, Martinez, Laudrup, or a good european coach
Still hope davy stays though and I think he will

i've been thinking lately, everybody goes on about how good our left side has been over the past few years but i've began to notice how good our right side is now. coleman has been exceptional this season, he seems to have developed a lot in himself and became an excellent full back, an attacking full back similar to leighton baines. his partnership with super kev has been immense over the past few games when both players have been fit. alls we need now is for our strikers to start banging them in and i'm sure we could finish 4th.

Believable11 Unbelievable1

Coleman has been impressive. One on one on offense he is powerful, and his defense has picked up considerably. Next year looks good on both flanks if all 4 players stay (Baines)

everton should keep david moyes and keep fellaini amd get that psg guy gremio apparently really good and we've benn linked with toby adlerweild really good

and if moyes leave don't replace him wiv lennon get redknapp if qpr go dwon great manager

Believable2 Unbelievable7

I agree that we should keep Moyes. I don't agree that Rednapp is a great manager. He certainly knows good players, but nearly every club he has managed has been left in turmoil on his departure. If Moyes leaves, he will be leaving us in a situation about 1000 times better than when he arrived. I only know two other managers who have been better over the period involved and that is Sir Alex and Wenger. No other manager has been as consistent nor lasted the course.

If moyes is leaving, why is he scouting players and talking to agents? Surley, if we are to get a new manager, whoever it may be, he shiould have the chance to stand or fall by his own choice of players!

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Even if he leaves he'll want the best for the club so doing the work for the squad or he could be looking at this players for his new club

I hope that mirrallas is fit as he hasn't trained this week since going off against stoke. Just our luck really, we have a great chance to get a positive result against spurs with their injury list but we could have have 3 of our best players missing ourselves

I think we should all be doing as much as we can to let Moyes and the club know we want him. Replacements such as ONeil, Holloway, Lennon and Martinez do not inspire me. Three of these four have regularly kept teams in the bottom 6 or 7 of their respective leagues or even got teams relegated. Lennon is different in that he has a budget of over 10 times of any of his rivals. Therefore Celtic should be head and shoulders above any of his rivals based on monies spent. Moyes has consistently outperformed any other manager in any league based on budget constraints. Listen to any TV pundit and they are all saying the same thing. That Moyes has worked miracles. We are all getting complacent and talking about new managers when in reality we should all be saying, "the club should do it's best to secure Moyes on a long term contract!" If we do not watch out, our nearest rivals might just say. enough of Brenda let's go for Moyes! Then we will be in real trouble!!

Nobody has done more with less than Moyes on a consistent basis (granted some 'lesser' teams have won the mickey mouse cup), but plenty have done less with more. Moyes must stay.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes others have won the mickey mouse cup. and got relagated the same season and are now in financial meltdown. As will QPR be soon. Villa too if they go down!

Papers saying Lennon in for moyes! Really hope not rather have Martin oneil

Believable5 Unbelievable7

To be fair, you have to give someone a chance. One il, short term, is a great manager - as Sunderland saw - but long term he's no good. And Lennon needs a chance. He's done good at Celtic, and would be better this this season if Rangers were in the SPL. Plus Celtic have played some undoubtedly brilliant football in the UCL this season. I haven't seen much if them in the league, but I'm sure they play great football in that, too.

I'd prefer Martinez, holloway, etc, but I'll give anyone a chance if it comes to having a new manager (with the possible exception of T. Pulis)

I know its a phrase often used but this is our biggest game of the season on sunday and we couldn't have hoped for a better chance with their injury list.
if we can get 3 points it will give us a great chance of CL. Still plenty to do but it would give everyone a lift and put pressure on everyone else.
Moyes now needs to go and prove he can take a team in to a big pressure match and win when it matters.
Come on Moyes go and earn your dough and get us 3 points.

COYB

Believable6 Unbelievable0

To be honest I would rather play a full strength side, its when we are at our best, we tend to be average at best when we are expected to win

Agree0 Disagree0

After last night with Spurs losing Bale and Lennon to injury, as well as Defoe. It has well and truly opened he door for Everton.

Make a good point as well, Moyes and these players need to show, especially after the Wigan game, they can handle these high stake matches, and hopefully they can put on a good show and take hime a vital 3pts.
