"Everton are just knocking on the door but I'm not sure whether they can sustain that."
Well remind us about that next year Jamie, if you can speak with the splinters from the same door in your mouth.
And Ross is going nowhere!
(Rather cross because me horse was sh*t and this ex blue has really got me going!)

If Baines moves into the centre next year do you think we will sign another left back (Robertson?) or is garbutt good enough to step up? Any reports on how well he is doing?

I think if baines moves there (which I doubt as colback will be signing) then oviedo and garbutt will fight for the left back spot

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would we move one of the best attacking left backs in the world to the centre?

Agree0 Disagree0

Because bayern did it with lahm and it worked out pretty good for them

Roberto Martinez! David moyes! What do they have in common!? very little, well nothing, they both managed everton, whatever, I digress, when martinez took over, i, like many others, well actually very few others, wanted him as our manager and was excited when he took over, people will talk about moyesiahs signings, cahill, jags, sylvain, seamus, baines, gibbo and pienaar (initially) to name a few were all great signings, but let's not forget billy, yakubu, johnson, beattie, wright, kroldrup and pistone, yes he had his good and bad signings, admittedly, mostly good, but what he failed to do was install confidence on his players or us as fans, he said he would be happy to get out of old trafford alive (now he probably wont!) and when he said a player was not for sale, you never really believed him, when martinez speaks, I am fascinated by what he has got to say, he is very interesting, you can tell he believes in his players, can you imagine the state of the dressing room when moyes said that? Imagine the players minds as they are told they do not belong on the same pitch as their opponents, martinez tells them they are not only good enough, but better, we go to places like stamford crossing, 02 arena and the theatre of nightmares and attack, go at them, play with no fear, make them fear us, while the football at times, is, well, dull, when it springs to action it really springs into action, a kopite once said to me, last season, 'youse are a more attractive version of stoke', as much as that sentence hurt me, I found myself agreeing, we were never going anywhere, he had taken us as far as he could, bobby, is only going to make us better, this team, this club is good enough for great things and with martinez at the helm, why can't we achieve them?

I love the way RM presents himself and the way he talks up players.notice the amount of times he uses the word "incredible". eg Ross shows incredible maturity. The team shows incredible desire to win etc. All this is positive stuff. However, I do believe we are still in a honeymoon period and when some of our mature players have moved on and been replaced by RM's own players we can decide. This includes which of our loan signings stay with us. Please understand I do not disagree with you Swan. I am just being a little more cautious and waiting until next season 10 games in. That is when we will see the proof of the pudding. Current team usually consists of: Howard, Coleman, Jags, Stones or Distin, Baines.all Moyes signings. Then choices from Osman, Pienaar, Naismith, Barkley. Remembering that Moyes brought through or signed all of these.and Oviedo, Gibbo. Yes RM has signed Lukaku, Barry, Alcaraz, Kone, McGeady, Doofy Loofy as you call him and McCarthy. From these RM signings, only 3 are regular starters and 2 of these are on loan. Yep it is going great. yep it all looks good. Yep the Summer will test his real abilities. Like I said before. lots of new faces will be needed and RM will then be picking HIS team.

Agree0 Disagree0

Degsy are you 'just being a little more cautious' or are you a negative person? Does it matter which manager signed the players, or is it more important how well they play for the manager? Put 500ml into a 1litre bottle and ask yourself is it half full or half empty! We have had a great season under Martinez no matter what happens in the last few games of season.

Agree0 Disagree0

I guess a bit of both Joe. Believe me I have really enjoyed most of this season. RM has exceeded all my expectations. I guess years of being let down or getting so close has made me wary. But I do also worry about the scale of changes that will be needed. I am not saying another manager would do any better. just I worry about the amount of new players we are likely to need. COYB

I think mcgeady should start, let him run at monreal and frighten him rather than doofy loofy, who just tires and bores full backs to death, I would start osman aswell, cannot risk ross and bring naisy on if osman isn't doing the business or lukaku either

Agree0 Disagree0

Bloody hell Swan.you would pick Osman? .actually I agree with you. I think McGeady is just starting to show some form. I may even go for a Naismith start ahead of McGeady but there isn't much to choose between them at the mo. Doofy loofy just seems to do one moment of brilliance and the rest of the time runs into full backs like a blind man. Although he was good at Newcastle. Either way, RM has a few options which can only be good.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would start McGeady and Naismith instead of Deulofeu and Osman.

Why don't we build a stadium near the Old Littlewood building.
Its a huge area, near the motorway, we could arrange to widen the road and that whole area would benefit from regeneration.
The areas in north liverpool where the old grounds were could have some money reinvested to build parks.
As much as a ground share makes so much financial sense I just have this feeling.

thoughts?

{Ed025's Note - they are building a massive school there next year i believe CB, but it would have been handy for me mate..

We could give Arsenal a real drubbing in the first 15 minutes if we start the game real quick like Chelsea and Liverpool we could be out of sight in the first half.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - wishful thinking that PK, of the 49 we have scored this season, only 12 have come in the first half mate..

Get at these from the first whistle, City, Chelsea and the red rubbish did and look what happened.

Think Arsenal are there for the taking tomorrow they are not a great team and poor on the road, they won't fancy it at Goodison tomorrow, fancy 3-1 to blues never been this confident on a game in ages.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i would take 1-0 sunny, and a scrappy goal hat was offside really mate..

Would take that ed no bother at all, but fancy a convincing win, can't wait Champions League here we come.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - sounds good sunny, but even if we beat the arse, we still have some massive games to come mate..

not efc related but as its grand national day and I have no idea about horses has anyone fellow blue got any genuine tips for the race today

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - just stick a pin in and pick one TB, national tips are not worth the paper they are printed on mate..my 3yr old granddaughter picked balthazar king, thats good enough for me..

Dusty Carpet.

It will take some beating.

Creosote.

It's good over fences.

Agree0 Disagree0

Is he still running Rudd Van Nistleroy?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - my horse has got red colours...it will look like suarez.. :)

I work in a tipping office but as Ed said you can hardly tip a horse to win in the National. It's all for one and one for all. I'm on Baltazar King as it's one of my favourite horses but I'll be very surprised if he stays the whole trip and that's from Phillip Hobbs the trainer. Monbeg Dude is defo worth a punt, the Welsh National's always a good guide for the Grand race and it won it last year. Past winners that have won have run well in the welsh national. Last years winner, Silver Birch, Mon mome to name a few. Hope this helps toffee and good luck! COYB tomorrow! I'm going 3-2 Everton!

Thanks Ed. Here I am just crowing with pleasure after seeing for the 100th time the 2-1 win over Arse when Wayne Rooney was 4days short of 16years. The more you look, that goal just about everything - distance, power, accuracy, trajectory, the moment. I am expecting a repeat. Arse come fighting, go 1-0 up but EFC play their game and start to dominate so by halftime its 1-1. 2 minutes to rundown and yet another pearl of a goal to send the stadium nuts. Can't wait! Final thought - few of the footie experts are going for an Arse win, fewer for a Blues win. H'mm another reason to smile. We've got the RM and the little genius that he is, will all make us proud. Rock the Park! Love Ya
