Just got back myself from the game and agree with the other comments. We were disjointed as a team albeit against a very good Spanish side. I thought Fellani did well and also Ross Barclay,Bainsey had his usual effective game but to no avail.Tim Howard had no chance with the goal. The defence wasn't too bad but the midfield
once Fellani went off and the forwards were woeful. Must do better. {Ed025's Note - i agree my friend..

ED..Please post this, I must speak for many fellow evertonians, Just got back from the villareal game and for the first time in history following everton home and away i left the game early, I know its a so called "friendly game" but it is our last friendly game before the season starts and usually this is the test to see what eleven to put out the following week, well this was drab, pi*s poor, a complete joke and toothless performance, Yes i know players dont want to get injured but the facts speak for themselves, the 2 testing meaningful friendlies weve had in W Bremen and tonight we have drew blanks in both games and hardly showed anything in attack, It is so obvious we cannot play a 4 5 1 system as we create hardly anything, It was totally evident last season that we do not create many chances with this formation, Although with the current crop of players chances are going to be few and far between, we all know we need someone who can thread a pass from nothing as atm we have no creatvity whatsoever and a jermaine defoe to get us 20 a season, I am at the point now where i dont care how this is achieved but we need barton and someone like defoe or it is going to be a long hard season yet again, the people posting on here saying if our squad stays injury free then we may do something, who are you kidding?, I dont want to get rid of any of our top stars but if this is the only way so we can get 2 quality players in then that is what has to be done...We are the only team in the whole football league who has not paid out a single penny for a player, Its a complete disgrace and something needs to be done quickly..Your thoughts please ED {Ed025's Note - my thoughts...are the same as yours, i have been preaching that we will be ok, but at the moment i dont think we will...tonight was piss poor, it seemed to me...that all this negativity surrounding the club, and the lack of new faces has took its toll, be afraid,,,,be very afraid..

Just got back from the game tonight, and sorry to say but Villareal never got out of first gear to beet us, we looked sluggish, unfit, disinterested and mostly there was no fight We seriously need to give Barton, bellamy and a striker what they want to play for our beloved club or those teams behind us will no longer be there, but that far ahead we won't be able to catch up Disheartened but die hard blue {Ed025's Note - im with you there fella..

I think everyone has forgotten just how good the yak can be. Maybe we should show him some loyalty Barton to sign, and everton two gain to loan signings The current squad will stay together {Ed025's Note - one swallow does not make a summer, my friend..

Believable0 Unbelievable5

The yak is past it, championship level at most

Villareal run us ragged in the 2nd half, we weren't even at the races.....sign that boy Rossi, he looks a player... I know its only a friendly but no goals in 2 games against good opposition....makes me wonder if this is a sign of things to come if we don't sign a striker and bloody sharpish in my opinion.

positive note for me was Barkley really starting to signs that he is fulfilling his potential. {Ed025's Note - we have all been saying it for ages....we need a striker..NOW!..

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Sign Rossi?, you do realise Barca had a £25m bid rejected for him, think he's a tad out of our price range...

I'm really disappointed in the fans tonight, booing Hibbert, I mean is it really necessary? We're already 1-0 down, booing certain players isn't going to help at all. {Ed024's Note - They look a decent side and why boo Hibbo?

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Were they not shoutong shoooooooot

Agree0 Disagree0

They werent booing hibbert they were shouting shoot because hes never scored

Agree0 Disagree0

They were shouting shoot wernt they? {Ed025's Note - yes!

Agree0 Disagree0

They weren't booing They were shouting 'shoot', like we always do

Agree0 Disagree0

They wasbooing {Ed025's Note - i thought it was shoooot myself...the boos you heared may have been me, at that lacklustre performance..with 1 week to go!..

Agree0 Disagree0

I was in the Paddock tonight and the noise coming out of the Upper Bullens was Shooooot.Anyway, why would supporters want to boo Tony Hibbert he is a great defender a good servant to EFC {Ed025's Note - i agree that he is a good servant to EFC..

Agree0 Disagree0

Tony is a great defender and a good servant to EFC but not so good going forwards

Fellaini returns to the Everton midfield and Jack Rodwell gets a start.

Everton XI v Villarreal: Howard, Neville, Baines, Distin, Jagielka, Coleman, Barkley, Fellaini, Rodwell, Anichebe, Saha.

I think that line up tonight will be similar against Spurs, minus Barkley and Coleman(suspension)

Believable0 Unbelievable2

Barkley running the show again. im getting the same feelin as the first time i saw rooney play. {Ed024's Note - What that he'd leave for Uniteed???

Agree0 Disagree0

ED 24 must be the red sh**e ed. is ed 25 at the match yeah {Ed024's Note - No I'm a blue, just asking your opinion, we been here before great youngster but no finaance to keep them!

I don't understand why anyone would even consider wanting Moyes out, yes he frustrates me at times with his odd selection of Anichebe and defensive line ups but to be honest without Moyes, we'd be lucky to still be in the Premier League. If we had someone else chances are he'd sell our best players and get us relegated. Moyes gets us a finish of around 7th EVERY year with LIMITED sources, imagine what he could do WITH MONEY, we'd be champions before you knew it

GP

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Moyes would get us in the top 4 with a reasonable transfer budget. He is an everton legend and the best manager we have had for a long time

I love Everton as we all do but something is happening behind the scene's which I know we are all not happy about. Firstly all of the influencial first teamplayers start bigging up the youth players dont get me wrong we have some major talent in the squad but do the pr people really think this will make any of us feel better when we get to the end of the transfer window with no one again.

I am desperate for Everton just to get that 15 million each window to challenge we have over
achieved with a very small squad in recent years I strongly believe if we do not get into europe this season the top players will move on and we will be back where we started.

All said and done we must follow and support the team not buying season tickets only add's to the no money scenario COYB's start with a revenge win over the yellow submarine tonight.

Just a loan signing PPPPLLLLEEEAAASDSSEEE {Ed025's Note - and so say all of us..

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Lets face it felli was two seasons ago and last time we spent was the lescott money so actually its getting worse each year only a matter of time b4 the big names lose patience with the lack of inactivity

Agree0 Disagree0

One quality striker on loan and we will be knocking on the door for top 6

Agree0 Disagree0

I really think beckford will get more goals this season and velios will make the step up. With sahas injury record we are still one short and i feel moyes has to bring someone in before the spurs game

Agree0 Disagree0

Our supporters club (127 strong) have disbanded because of people not wishing to renew their season tickets due to the lack of transfer activity, the way our club has been run along with the lack of information coming from the club,

Robert Elstone did visit the supporters club and was put under the cosh with some harsh questioning which with the usual political bull he evaded the questioning...

only 9 people in the supporters club have renewed their season tickets....Shocking facts...

Agree0 Disagree0

Not being funny but i think beckford is s**te hes a good first division striker but thats about it

Agree0 Disagree0

Beckford is poor...rodwell looks poor... {Ed025's Note - our problem is that our chairman is poor..

Wish everyone would stop putting Moyes on a pedistal. He is a good manager and has kept us in the top half of the table were some managers could of taken us down however prior to the last 3 transfer windows he has had money to spend Jags, Fellani, Yobo Baines etc have all represented good value for money but cant really be called cheap players.

Yet Harry Redknapp at Pompy McLeish at Birmingham, Ramos at Spurs, Greame Souness at Blackburn, McClaren at Middlesborough, O'Niel at Leicester, and Brian Little at Villa have all managed to win Silverwear since Everton last did.

If/when a new owner comes in maybe a new manager should too. {Ed025's Note - what drugs are you on this week?...we have one of the best managers ever!..get a life mate..

Believable1 Unbelievable3

Think you need to bury yourself back into the whole you crawled out of...idiot

Agree0 Disagree0

You need a little bit of luck along the way to win a cup We always seem all outta luck
But consistantly staying in the top half the league takes skill n class
IMWT

Agree0 Disagree0

Moyes is a legend and while he is in charge we will always be in the top half of the table, he has built a squad good enough to challenge for the top 6

Agree0 Disagree0

Moyes is great at motivating his players and has established us as a top half side, expect at least top 7 again

Everton will not be signing Barton because of his wage damands (Liverpool echo)

Believable3 Unbelievable2

Disgusting Im sure the money used to pay peanuts and vaughns wages could of been combined for bartons I dont trust news papers anyway unless i see it on the everton website or on the breaking news banner on skysports then its just more rumours But i still find myself checking out this website :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

We need to offload yak and yobos wages to release the pressure on our wage budget. I think moyes was expecting to get rid of them sooner

Agree0 Disagree0

So u wud get rid of yak and keep beckford lol
