Moyes out? shut up up you gang of idiots yes i agree some of his tactical decisions aren't great but you need to get a grip if you think he needs to go, me personally i think he needs a new assistant or just some new staff, we would be like bolton, stoke now if moyes wasn't there finishing 12th, 13th in the league, if you get on his back and carry on to do it he will just leave as he said he will only go when the fans don't want him, look at alex ferguson it wasn't all plain sailing for him in his man utd career look at him now, just bring in new staff and a few new players! {Ed025's Note - new staff??...yes please

Erm what's is going on, we'd be playing Championship football without Moyes.

Yes we had a bad game on saturday, but Moyes was working with what he had. Do you want to risk losing a player for longer because you rush him back too soon.

Think about the bigger picture, we need to protect the squad for the long term, we know we haven't got the biggest squad, we have lots of potential in the youth but they need to be managed carefully.

Yes I agree all except the chairman aren't sticking their hands in their pockets when it counts.
I honestly think Bill would sell his soul to raise money for the club. The rest of the board need to show the same commitment.

So get off Moyes's back, get behind the club and support the team. What good does it
do anyone just using this site to slag the manager and the players. You all sound like a bunch of the r#d sh#t# having a go at our team.

Proper Fumin' COYB IMWT {Ed025's Note - you paint a pretty picture of the situation my friend!...let me enlighten you...the fact is, we are playing some of the most boring football i have ever seen, the players are lacking motivation and leadership, the manager seems to lack any ideas how to remedy the situation, and is wallowing in self pity, and the board are doing sod all to help, add a dose of dwindling fans making hardly any noise in our mausoleum of a ground...and you might realise how most of the fans are feeling..merry f*****g christmas!!!

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Well said ed

Agree3 Disagree3

Ed - i normally agree with most of what you say BUT seriously shut up and man up. You say the players are playing without motivation, thats because too many Evertonians at the moment are wallowing in self pity. If Goodison is bouncing and buzzing the players will respond, they always do. Lets get behind them, lets make some noise, show some passion and push the team on. We have a role to play and recently we have not been playing it well, worse than the team almost. IMWT, COYB, NSNO

Agree2 Disagree2

Seen as we pay to watch them play, I'm afraid they need to give me something to shout about! I can't cheer on that kind of football any more... sorry. We've all tried but theres only so many mistakes one person can take before releasing a small groan of disappointment.

David Moyes has got to take stock. There may be no takeover coming. We have to have a Plan B. The manager has to start coming to terms with the fact (fast) that the "lack of investment" excuse, however valid, has turned into a reason that poor performance and defeat are now almost ingrained into the mans' logic. We have players who are not good enough, but more importantly we have players who are. If Moyes can't find any more creativity with what we have and is prepared to wait for our Euro lottery ticket to come good, then I'm truly sorry to say that it may be over between club and current boss.
Alternative?- The regular tactical masterclass that was Sunday.

Sev. {Ed025's Note - i agree sev...for me , he either shapes up..or ships out, its as simple as that!

Believable1 Unbelievable0

I'd be interested to know who you think are the better players than the one's that started Sunday.
I presume you are referring to an 17 year old kid who has only played a couple of 1st team games in his career, no pressure huh!
Our main striker was out injured, the only pace and invention we had in the team was out injured, so not sure who else Moyes could have played on Sunday.
The only thing I would do at the moment is drop Cahill, because when he is not scoring goals he offers us nothing. Can't tackle, is not creative, no pace, and play someone else there anybody really, Bily, Ossie or Barkley that can at least pick a pass because the main problem at the moment is there is no movement up front so there is a lot of sideways passing.

Martinez from wigan he likes his teams to play football, he would get everton playing the way we should be playing! Or give stubbs a crack :-) {Ed025's Note - i like the martinez shout mate...but if david played more attacking football, and let the team play like we know they can..he would do as well!!

Agree0 Disagree2

Totally agree ed but david is not allowing the team to express themselves and for some strange and unknown reason he is refusing to play attacking football! i hope he starts to sort things out soon i like moyes and wouldnt want him to go but if needs must! {Ed025's Note - my sentiment exactly mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

Why is Moyes tactically inept, I am sure he tells the players when we have the ball nobody move, just stand still and make yourself unavailable to receive a pass.
It's alright blaming Moyes but the players need to take responsibility aswell.

Agree1 Disagree0

Fair point but when you are 1 down and your manager decides that bringing on another DM is an attacking option and then swapping like for like with 10 mins to go Id call that tactically inept. Moyes always waits till we are 2 down before even contemplating putting up top And what the hell is the point of playing down the wings when Stokes average height is 10 foot 5......TACTICALLY INEPT

reported on sporting life...

" Asked whether he would be looking to add more creativity in next month's transfer window Moyes, who has been linked with another loan move for Los Angeles Galaxy forward Landon Donovan, said: "If I could do that I would do." "

So no money AGAIN sounds like the situation.

How the fk have we never got ANY money when we're selling anything that moves and must have raised 15 -20 mil on player sales and cut the wage bill by about 200k a week since the start of the year?

AND YET SOMEHOW STILL NO MONEY ? ? ? ?

Yes we were poor on Saturday, according to the stats no shots on target, yet we are where myself and a few other posters said we'd be in December comfortably in mid table and some very winnable games to come, January should see us starting to close the gap on the top 7 positions or at least opennig a gap between us and the rest. Feli has signed and we have money for January and IMWT he will make a shrewd purchase or two. I also think with Denis is unlike Drenthe he is not used to european style or the pace of the prem, so he is probably going to introduce him slowly rather than throwing him in too soon like Beckford. Anyway I haven't posted for a while and thought I'd share my opinion.
On another note I have noticed that the other lot for want of something to put at the end of their posts in response to our COYB and IMWT put the letters to a song they sing, but I just realised it's an anagram of YAWN!! speaks volumes I'd say

IYKYHIETMYHG WooooooOoooooooooo :)

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Throwing him in too soon like Beckford?

.. I do believe Beckford was our highest scoring forward during the whole of last season, which if you have forgotten was his very first in the premier league. Pretty much averaged 1 goal per game with his total playing time.

Interesting to see so many people are blaming this all on Moyes.

1. We didnt get a chance last night, the ref was poor and although you can say it cost us the game it made life hard for vellios and fellaini especially
2. Do you really think moyes would have gone into the rooms before the game saying 'well the stoke lads are big, lets play the long ball' - no smart ass replies the answer is no.
3. Formation is not something you mess around with when your team is mid table and not looking comfortable early in the season. although we definately need a change up in formation if the squad wont change, its something that has to be done over the preseason.
4. IMWT - how many times have we done this in previous seasons. in fact, we have had far worse starts then this and come back to a good league position. he has my back and should have all of yours as well
5. We did play poorly, doesnt take a genius to say it. lets face it our squad is small and our fringe players are poor. lets see us with a strong lineup with drenthe, rodwell and distin firing, and saha and cahill back in form and i think we can expect some better performances

Lets hope for a better performance against Arsenal.

AussieBlue

Believable5 Unbelievable2

We are blaming all this on moyes because like it or he is ultimately responsible for team affairs including our current league position. It is a nonsense to suggest we shouldn't change team formation whilst in this position and should wait for pre season ,Are you mad ? Preseason could well be in the championship if things formation included don't change and quickly ! I am a huge moyes fan and do feel for the man but I think these last few seasons of battling against a lack of funds and poor starts to the season have taken the fire out of his belly. And remember he is the leagues longest serving manager to remain without a trophy. I do think a change is needed I'm not sure who but I think it would suit both parties if he was to leave sad as it may be .

Who picks the team, who trains them and decides on tac ticks who decides on the players we buy the 5.4.1.formation should not be used at home we should attack id rather loose playing good attacking football than the rubbish were playing, remember we are everton like the song says if you know your history we should never loose to stoke wigan wolves qpr and teams lesser than us.how long will be before the fans vote with our feet i for one will not waste 100 pound travelling from coventry to watch boring negative football.

Ed - in your honest, realistic, bare bones opinion, can you see anyone taking us over either in January or at the end of the season? Or us receiving some form of investment? I just wondered why Big Felli would have signed a new contract otherwise {Ed025's Note - my honest opinion....yes...but not anytime soon, felli signed his contract because this gives him financial security for life! there will be a clause for him to move if he wants, as football contracts are not worth the paper they are written on!..

is the premier league becoming predictable? (due to money differences)

Almost every week the teams in places 1-7 beat the teams below them - look at the points gap after 7th - it's a two tier league - and a very predictable one.

Only Villa and Everton are 'in the gap' between top and bottom - and can win or lose - but the rest are just cannon fodder for the top teams.
(Unfortunately we may be slipping into the cannonfodder category)

Football is not what it was 20 or 30 years ago, where someone like cloughie could do something with a mid range club like Forest - it's all stitched up now - predictable and boring :(

Believable6 Unbelievable0

Money is the motivator. If my boss said, do your job better and faster for a 50% payrise, I'd be doing my job better and faster. Since Felli got his contract renewed and obviously a big fat payrise, he's played better... The bigger clubs have money to entice their players, we don't, simples!

After 9 years in charge it is about time Mr Moyes was held accountable for the state of our current squad
Yesterday was an embarrasment - given that the emotions of all inside Goodison were high after the tribute to Gary Speed, you would have thought this was a match we daren't lose.
There was more passion in the ex-players on the centre circle at kick off than the whole of the squad throughout the game
The tactics were boring, preidctable and wrong (again)

How many times can moyes hide behind the "lack of funds" & "wee small squad" excuses?
This is your squad Mr Moyes - you chose to release Vaughan & Yakubu when we were desperatley short of attacking players
You chose to bring in Bilyaletdinov & Straquilasi just as you failed to keep hold of Piennar.
Three questions from me Mr Moyes:
1.Why do you continue with the same tactics week after week regardless of who we play and where - even though the rest of the Premier league worked you out 3 years ago?
2. Why all of a sudden have you started Bilyaletdinov who clearly isnt fit enough to wear the shirt - is it something to do with his public outburst last week?...If so yiou have lost the plot
3.Why do you choose to bring on anyone but Ross Barkley?
I have always been a staunch defender of you Mr Moyes but there comes a time when you simply cannot defend the undefendable
I dont think you should go...i just think you should sort out this mess and if you cannot...Then Go
Please do not destroy our club any further

Have to start playing 2 up top! Have to start being more attack minded! Hve to stop playing the long ball! Have to inject some passion into our play! Im bored of watching us! Even when we win its boring! We have the players capable of one and two touch football, they need to be given licence to do there thing! Moyes is a good manager but hes too stubborn! He cant admit hes wrong and needs to try something new! And that is whats holding him back from being a great manager!
We have had a bit of luck with the fa cup draw home to a non league team! So moyes should use that game to really mix things up a bit and after that start selecting the team based on performances and merit and not Favouritism and loyalty!
Moyes has spend wisely in jan i dont how much he has but a striker and a creactive midfielder are desperately needed i would like to see krancjar and defoe! One is possible but both are unlikely! Im not worried about our season yet but if moyes doesnt changes his attitude then we will be dragged down the table! So imo moyes sees sence or goes!

I think he should go and get someone like martinez from wigan, sorry moyes i thankyou for everything you have done but move on!

Reading all the other posts, i agree with the majority of what everyone is saying. I know fans think they know best, but i am starting to think that perhaps we do. Moyes tactics yesterday were appalling. Long ball from the back, deep crosses from the wings. Is he not aware that the average height of the Stoke team is 7 foot. Taking off a forward for a forward when we are chasing the game. This obsession with always playing Osman, even it means he is out of position. He cant play left wing as he has no pace and cant cross with his left foot. Cahill isnt scoring goals, therefore he brings nothing to the team. Hibbert is absolute toilet! Billy mouths off on Russian TV that he might have to leave the club to get more football for the Euros! By all means Billy, but i don't think any of the League 2 sides are in the market for an ineffective, lazy, non tackling, slow midfielder.

Yes we need a forward desperately but more importantly we need another Arteta, someone who sprays the ball about, has a shot at goal and more importantly plays the ball forward. As much as i like Fellaini he only passes sideways. Fellaini should sit in defensive midfield and let Jack push forward a bit. We rarely look like conceding many but at the same time dont look like scoring. I am not looking forward to our visit to the Emirates on Saturday. Hopefully Drenthe, Distin and Neville are back fully sit ready to start. Neville whilst not being the greatest player, is a leader and would have got the boys going yesterday i reckon. Rant over. {Ed025's Note - i dont class that as a rant mate...i think its a well thought out, and articulate account of the situation...well done!

Believable5 Unbelievable0

We have got another Arteta on the bench, his name is Ross Barkley, but Moyes for some stupid reason wont play him. If Barkley was at Man U, Chelsea or Arsenal he would be staring every week. D.

I wish other teams would make it as easy for us as we did for Stoke. I can't believe we played the long ball for a start! It's an obvious mistake to use root one against such a big side... We all know that, we can see that. Someone whose never watched football before would see that, so how come Moyes can't?! People are paying good money every week to go and watch this ugly, predictable football... With the transfer window looming we should be trying to attract players, not put them off!
I reckon we're really missing big Distin. He will, mostly, try to play the ball out and build from the back, not just lump it.
The obvious choice for me would have been Barkley, then again, I say that every week. At least he'll have a run at the defence and try to penetrate a bit more, because at the moment we look weak. The lad can pass a ball too! On the rare occasions we do try to play to feet, how many times is the pass under-hit or played behind the man? It's pathetic! Kids stuff! I wish Moyes would read this site from time to time... He may learn a thing or two about how to set up a football team!
In the fans we trust!

In my opinion our main problem is that we don't play pass n move football.
We've got quite a few players who don't move into space to allow their teammates to find a quick easy ball to them - some of them hide behind opponents and don't want the ball.

FGS get them playing two touch football on the training ground and make sure everyone is constantly ON THE MOVE offering themselves as an outlet.
And like the other poster said - for gods sake learn to pass the effing ball in front of the man when going forwards - it's not rocket science.
Get the coach out, not moyes.

and ps - Cahill and Coleman are not the answer.
Personally I'd try Louis in the roaming role behind Vellios/someone else. {Ed025's Note - im afraid that the buck stops at david...he is the one who advises the coaches..

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Finally a sensible post.
There is absolutely no movement up front and players are hiding so when Felli gets the ball and he can't pass it to someone ahead of him coz there is no movement then he has to go sideways or backwards.
The same can be said of 'The Jags Hoof' up the pitch there is no movement or people are hiding and not wanting the ball so the only solution is to bang it up field and hope we get a knock down {Ed001's Note - but that is surely down to the training, Moyes should be working on the movement to improve it.}

Well I slept on it to see how I felt after the match Sunday, as follows:

Still fuming, £150 down the swanney, 4 tickets, 2 programmes, 2 hot dogs, 4 drinks, fuel and parking, myself, my brother and our two teenage boys will not be goinmg to another match until a takeover has been completed and the dead wood is kicked out of town, always a Moyes supporter but 90 minutes and no shots on target against a team that played in Europe on Thursday that we should be battering anyway, let's have Barkley on the bench every week and never play him, let's leave Neville and Distan on the bench when playing the toughest team in the premier league, can't blame the referee beacuse I know they were going in tough but we were dire, disgusted and no wonder there was only just over 30,000 fans there, just lost four more. Bily needs to go now, we need to pass the ball in fron of the players when attacking and not behind (basics), play through the middle when playing the biggest defenders in the league and not out for the wingers every time, you can read us like a book, well done Coleman and Bainesy, Jags why the long ball every time, you cannot put it on a sixpence like Beckham, Unlucky Vellios not your fault pal, Cahill - always a huge fan but come on for gods sake man.

Moaning over feel better now (not)

great tribute for Speedo, shoulda signed big Dunc up why he was there, could of put the balls back in our team
