So the plan is to stay at home? Seems a bit high risk.

Wow, what happened to the site just then Eds? My page went all black and green and into what looked like sort of shopping site.

It was in and off for roughly 10 minutes about 15 minutes ago. Even when it went back to the normal pages you couldn't navigate through the pages if that helps.

Does anyone else's other half just simply not get Everton or football in general?
Below is a genuine conversation in our house last night, just one of many similar conversations over the years.

Her - Are Everton playing at the weekend?
Me - Yes it's the derby.
Her - Are they any good? I don't think I remember you playing them before.
Me- Pardon?
Her- Derby, are they any good?
Me- No, it's the derby, we're playing liverpool.
Her- Oh, why didn't you say so. Are you going?
Me- No, it's at their place, I haven't got a ticket. I might go to the pub and watch it there.
Her- I thought you have a season ticket?
Me (confused) - I have?
Her- So why aren't you going?
Me- It's at their place, we're the away team.
Her- But you've got a season ticket so why aren't you going?
Me (exasperated) - Because it's an away game and my season ticket is only for home games.
Her- Well that was a waste of money than wasn't it if you can't go to the game.
Me- leaves room not knowing whether to laugh or cry.

A conversation I think we've all had.

My wife is a red and like most Liverpool supporters doesn't really follow football. She asked me in the mid naughties if Kenny Dalglish was playing in one of the derby's!

Made me laugh RIB, I have been married for 52 years and all I can tell you is that they get worse with age. My wife is from Prescot so at least she does know what a "Derby" is but she still can't quite understand why I support Everton.

{Ed002's Note - She knows a Derby is a hat?}

My mates wife is just as ditzy Mike, although on paper she's actually very clever.
They were playing trivial pursuit a good few years ago and she got the question 'what was the name of the ship in mutiny on the Bounty? '
After much deliberation she answered 'was it the Golden Hind? '

Wife is one of those 50s babes that got caught in the pension trap. We had a discussion (I was told) and decided that as I had worked all those years for those lovely pensions she may as well retire now. That was over a year ago, since when she has pursued (apparently) a love of football in order for us to have a 'conversation'. I am 68 now, passed the job centre the other day and I was tempted sorely tempted to go in and look for a job.

Love that post Rhapsody in Blue. Made me think of many conversations with the other half. Usually I cry with utter annoyance. Hopefully after reading your post it will be more laughing from now on. Make it all the easier to cope with.

You think that's bad. When i showed my wife rooneys wonder goal against west ham last week she asked me are you allowed to do that? I asked, allowed to do what? She said "score from that far out. I thought you had to score inside a certain are" i just said yeah.

my missus just doesn't talk about football and it's been ok mostly this season as when we lose I just sulk but after the last two wins I have done nothing but to talk to her about the games I never get a response though after 15 years together she has mastered the off switch ha ha ha oh well at least on Sunday she will still be on beer duty so she's not all bad.

She was sort of right, it has been a waste of money so far this season!

My Mrs also didn’t understand the Rooney goal. She said wow he got so lucky, what was he trying to do?

Hopefully Everton can approach the derby on sunday with some belief. The likes of Rooney, Siggurdson, Schneiderlin, Niasse and Keane have all played in teams that have beaten the reds.

Well if we play Schneiderlin and he plays like he has this year we will be playing with 10 men.

Your right there Smit mate, big stage for those lads to shine, and Big Sam will have them fired up for this one, (also Little Sam will be very vociferous on the touchline) bring it on COYBS.

I hope he starts Niasse. Their defenders won't know what's hit them. He runs round like a mad man in normal games. Imagine what he'll be like in a derby.

Strange stat. Liverpool have never beaten us at anfield in a cup tie. Ok probably not played many but there's a small Ray of hope.
