Tosun nor Lookman the answer.

Totally agree GB. Can only reiterate what ed has said. Both failed to take their opportunity, full backs were poor. We were unable to break down a dire team and looked really slow and predictable in our build up play. Credit Newcastle, they came with a plan and went away with what they came for, but we have to win these games if we want to challenge. Definitely need a striker who fits the way we play, really hoped that would be Tosun but i don't think it is. Cannot afford anything but a win against Watford. 2 points dropped definitely.

Well the some fans have been asking for a change and to bring in Lookman it's a shame he didn't take his chance lacking that finishing touch. Still an improvement from last season.

On the brighter side, we would have probably lost that game last season. I’ve seen some ridiculous comments about Coleman this morning calling him all the names under the sun. Some fans are too fickle and have very short memories!

Coleman would walk into most premier sides and get a game every week. Short memories mate.

We are a slightly above average team and ok we have had some good wins and performances recently but we are nothing special. It is because we have been so bad in recent years some are getting carried away.
I am not going to get exited yet but relatively pleased with the progress being made nothing more.

Very poor tonight.

{Ed025's Note - its a game we should have won GB, the full backs were very poor going forward and the crossing abysmal, tosun and lookman were given their chance but both of them failed to take it, all in all 2 points dropped..

06 Dec 2018 00:39:11
Digna was appalling to and Coleman seems to have lost something after all his injuries.
Richalson is greedy, he has loads of potencial but needs to mature, same goes for Lookman.

Yep Ed but Lookman not the answer too may mistakes for me we need a striker pronto.

{Ed025's Note - we certainly do GB, cenk works hard but he does not have the quality im afraid, ademola is still young but we can see why marco has not been starting him in games he sees him every day mate, anyway onwards and upwards..

As Ed002 I hope I am not misquoting. He said we are overstocked in some areas and by indication not enough in others. Lookman plays on the left not the right for instance. Failure to strengthen striker position means we have tried Richarlison, (not succeeded in my view) . Now having said that, we are (with a third of season gone) further along than we should be. We improved the Squad but obviously did not have the time nor did we want to do a Koeman. Despite Mr Moshri saying nothing doing in Jan, I expect a move for a striker and perhaps a RW. As others have said we are improving. I would add do not expect to much. There will be blips, that is obvious.

{Ed025's Note - with a new manager and DOF anyone who expected us to be the finished article by now is deluded BCT, not only will it take a few windows its an ongoing thing where players will be brought in and some shipped out, we have done amazing in such a short time and the difference from where we were last season is off the scale, there will of course be blips along the way like last night but that has to be expected but the club is moving in the right direction mate..

Spot on Ed25.

Spot on. I think we would all have taken 6th at the minute. Teams above us would all be expected to be above us. The one position they all have which we don’t is a 20 goal striker (except Chelsea maybe) .

If we can add a striker - get Gomez tied down and trim squad in Jan/ Summet I think that would be a huge step.

I suspect a lot was due to the effort put in on Sunday. And the ending of that game. Mentally and physically that would have drained the players. And in a short time to recover the manager made some changes to compensate. Players were brought in who the fans wanted in. and positions that most fans wanted. But it all goes back to what I have said all season. We concede too many. Giving the early goal away puts pressure on the team. Yes we are now conceding less but as soon as you go one behind, you know you have to score a minimum of 2. That then makes you wary that you don't concede another. So stop conceding and we will do ok. But yes a million times more better than the last 4/ 5 seasons in my view. Hiccups happen!

Would not be surprised if we don't get anyone in the Jan window unless we have a key injury or someone has already been identified and is available. I think Brand will play the long game and not go for panic buys. To be fair I think the squad we have is perfectly capable of finishing in the top eight and see that with the change in style as a big plus from last year.

I’m not sure we can say we are conceding to many goals.
Chelsea - zero
Cardiff - zero
Livetpool - 1
Newcastle - 1
Brighton - 1

3 goals in last 5 games is as good as anyone. I think the opposite is right - only scored 4 goals in these games (2 of which vs Brighton)

I think Silva was correct in that we need more goals from midfielders - Walcott, Bernard, Gomez, Lookman in particular.

But I think we are tight at the back and goals will come with a striker - two more windows and I think we will have a great team.

Please Everton win tonight - I have bragging rights all Christmas at Work!

On a serious note as we were discussing Paul Merson below and his comments. I was wondering how he dares to advertise gambling on Sky and also other online firms?

This guy wrote in his autobiography (entitled rock bottom) how he tried to break his own fingers to stop him ringing a bookie!

I wonder how the dedicated professionals Who helped him deal with this addiction feel when they see these adverts?

That's why I don't listen to a word the guy says - money over morals.
