How much do people think rodwells worth if we're intrested I reckon 6 million 3m upfront and 1m for every 50 apps upto 150 that way if he can't stay fit it's not such a problem. If he can stay fit and fulfil half his potential it would be a great deal.

{Ed025's Note - too much for me quinny..

rodwell not worth looking at imo, I will be very disappointed if we sign him back

Agree0 Disagree0

If he stays fit then I think he has bags of potential

Funny how we all seem to forget that before Barkley he was our most 'Promising' young player, he is a good and intelligent footballer, just has had more than his fair share of injuries, as a loan or say £3m with add ons he would make a good squad player again.

Agree0 Disagree0

I wouldn't sign him just for 'hope' he doesn't get injured. We all know he won't last even half a season before he is out for a while. Just isn't worth a risk in my opinion.

Agree0 Disagree0

It's years later and poeple are still saying potential, where's the point were you just got to say it ain't going to happen

Agree0 Disagree0

Gets injured a lot? Yet you all love Gibson who gets injured a lot? Am I missing something here?

Agree0 Disagree0

Rodwell = useless sicknote :(

Agree0 Disagree0

Ye if we already have squad members that are prone to injury the last thing we need to do with the extra games is add more

Evening you lovely Blues.

Just want to get your personal opinions, although this may come across as a bloke asking for your opinion before he takes your wife out.

we have been linked with your very own James Macarthy, approx £19m I believe.

Unfair question, but do you think, if we get him, he would be good at Arsenal?.

no point answering that as you won't get him, really is that simple

06 Jul 2014 00:20:06
Well if you guys have offered 19m then it isn't even a real bid more like Wenger doing his usual and making all the right noises about potential signing but then not delivering also McCarthy has to look at all the midfielders you have and consider what playing time he will get. You guys do need him but you won't get him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Toffie al mcarthy should not bother lookin at arsanals mids beceause if there dreams did come true an they did sign him he would play every game because he would then be there best mid player

Agree0 Disagree0

I try to see who Gunner player is leveling or better than Jimmy for exchange? Answer is nobody.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dangerman gunner u getting schneiderlin from southampton so uses don't need mc carthy but mc carthy is better like

Shakey wasn't saying he wasn't good enough just saying Wenger plays his favourites, he seems to love Wilshere arteta and cazorla

{Ed025's Note - I like that hendo..

I'm well impressed, Hendo! Let's hope we're not quoting Richard III in January, (Now is the winter of our discontent. ) Can't see it, we're more likely to be quoting the great playwright Pharrel Williams, (Happy).

Just read on the Mail Online that Arsenal are looking to loan Joel Campbell, we are mentioned as a possible destination. I did not understand why Chelsea loaned Lukaku to us as such near rivals, but surely the Arse would not allow us a player that might improve us?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

05 Jul 2014 17:29:47
Wasn't Wenger moaning last year about the Lukaku loan as being an unfair advantage?

Agree0 Disagree0

Im out on this one especially as Arsenal are only looking for a 6 month loan. That's not of any use to us and not only that i'm against loaning anyone off Arsenal it sends out the wrong message.

Does anybody else find it a little worrying that we only have three friendlies arranged? Others have 6-8 arranged. how can we possibly be ready for the start of the season?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

At the moment we only have enough players for three games. Sign someone please!

I just wanted to thank the 649 people who entered our free World Cup Correct Score competition on football-rumours, even though we only got it ready to launch extremely late! Good luck to all of you over the last few games.

We will be running the Correct Score competition again throughout the season, with monthly prizes and ones for the whole season. It will still be free to enter and the monthly winners will receive a £35 club shop voucher for their team, runners up a £15 voucher and 3rd will get a £5 voucher. At the end of the season, the overall winner will get a £50 voucher, 2nd a £25 voucher and 3rd a £10 voucher. Look out for it to be launched soon!

All our competition winners will soon have a badge to display on their profile and next to their name when they post. They are just the first in our forthcoming range of profile badges you can get for reaching goals on the sites.

We are also in the middle of producing a new game, which will run on our betting site (footballrumoursbets.co.uk), which is currently in alpha testing. The game is to be called 'Flat Out Racing' and will be about betting on live computer simulated horse races. It will be free to play and we will be running prize competitions on it, which will also be free to enter, as soon as it is ready to enter beta testing. Please look out for the beta test launch and participate in helping us, you never know you could win a prize for doing so!

There are lots more improvements and additions coming to the sites in the future, as we have a huge list of things we intend to bring out as soon as we can. From more competitions and games, to new features for your profiles and the sites.

Thank you to all of you who have registered an account with us, over 23000 of them have been created.

25 million for Barkley? Jog on! You couldn't buy his left leg for that. You've got to love the British press, they are clueless

Well after watching Brazil and Columbia match I have come to appreciate our prem a bit more. The constant sneaky fouls and diving. The stop start, stop start would drive me mad. We often get some good things come out of the World Cup, but this isn't one of them.

£25m PLUS Negrado, Richards & Milner & I MIGHT just think it worth it!

Been thinking about the whole barry situation and while I agree it is becoming increasingly frustrating that he is free (okay not completely free but you knoe what I mean) and he didn't go to the world cup, coupled with the fact martinez wants him, this should of been tied up a month ago but i'm sure there are reasons why it is taking so long, could be hid missus nagging him, could be man city want something or it could be he has already joined but it just hasn't been announced yet, hopefully the latter, if he wants to come and martinez wants him (clearly does) then I expect him to join, one of the least favorite yet compulsary games of being an evertonian is the waiting game, don't panic yet blues i'm sure it will be done soon, trust bobby

So in other words, you don't know, we don't know, but we all hope he will.

More of a guessing game than a waiting game.

Seriously though, I am dissapointed that this couldn't have been sorted by July 1st. As this one looked like a no brainer to me.

You are absolutely right Swan. The complications of a "free" signing mean it is not so straight forward as it appears. Apparently we agreed a fee of around 2.5 million if we signed him on a permanent. This was last season when he was on loan. I don't even know if this can be legally enforced now he is a free agent? However, I believe Man City are trying to apply it. Shows the difference in class between the clubs. We allowed Jonny Heitinger to go on a free even though he was still under contract. Just so he could try and force his way back into the Dutch squad. Man City with all their billions are trying to screw a couple of million out of us for a player no longer on their books. Like I say, I don't know this is fact, but I have read it in 2 different articles now so guess there is some truth?
