All this talk of challenging for top 4 i the next 3/ 4 years annoys me. If I were Mr. Moshiri I would be aiming for 1st place by next season.
I feel one should be aiming for perfection. I know that there is a good chance that this would not happen, but it should be thr goal all managers should aim at. I also believe that our aim in points should be no less than 114 points i. e. perfection. So when one starts with this principle that will achive the7r true goal. One must aim for perfection.
But I will admit i am really excited for the following season.

COYB.

It is just paper talk. don't be suckered in.

06 Jun 2016 07:13:00
It's all good an and well saying the target is perfect points but we all know that no team will ever have that which basically means we will fail our target every year. there's a reason why businesses don't just go out saying I want to make 1 trillion every year. If a target isn't realistically achievable then people stop trying to achieve it.

That's why I said 3-4 years look at city they had all that money (lot more then we have ) and it took them about 4 years to win the league. We can now compete that's all at the minute give it time. To all Everton fans that think just because we got money we should win league take a step back and look at What having this investment means. We no longer loose are best players unless they want out, We can buy from a bigger and better pool of players, we can now get a ground with out help or lack of it from city council and yes we can also push on each season aiming for the top prize the league.

For me next season I would like to Virgil van dike in our deffence. Big strong and scores goals. If to comes please bring him.

Believable4 Unbelievable1

06 Jun 2016 08:11:10
Sorry to burst your bubble but Virgil signed a new long term contract within the last month AND Saints will block any players following RoKo. Besides, these are players who bust a gut to get into Europe again and despite what you may hear, quite a number will be pleased to have RoKo gone.

Some players may leave Saints, but other than the normal cull they will leave for Champions League rather than money today and promises for tomorrow. Suspect your club will see the same.

If it is koeman how long do you all think he will have to achieve something at everton what position in the league we he have to achieve next season and how long will the fans give him to win a trophy if we finish outside the top ten for the next two seasons will he be be sacked I'm not saying this will happen I for one am all for him to be are next manager can't wait but was just wondering everyone's views.

I think the next 2 years would probably be looking to get Europa league and make a go at winning that. If we win that gets you champions league I would also see us climbing in to top 4 by 3/ 4 years.

Agree1 Disagree1

05 Jun 2016 22:06:45
There will have to be genuine signs of progress from him.

100m is a lot of money and Europe would be a minimum. However, I think they will want us challenging for CL within the next two.

The investment in the team though cannot be just one season. I believe this has to be over the next 5 windows before we become more self sustaining.

This would potentially coincide with us moving into a new stadium where we should be able to kick on another level again.

The next three years could be ball bustingly exciting. My eldest who is 12 is literally walking on the cieling and never thought this could happen to us. I just can't wait for this ride to begin. It could be amazing.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - The money will be from the increased TV income. Everton might be in the mix for a Champions League place in the next few years but they will not be challenging for the Champions League.}

05 Jun 2016 22:22:45
Champions league PLACE was what I meant Ed. Get a bit too excited these days with all this positive stuff.

You may be right on the TV revenue although 100m if this true, is more than just extra TV dosh. Either way you can have all the money in the world but unless it's used right it's pointless. Hopefully, we'll have people in place so every penny is spent well.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - It is additional TV money pus what would have been spent.}

05 Jun 2016 22:25:10
As much as I wish to see us in the top 4, the mancs, arse, splhurs, , Chelski and to a lesser extent pest spam, Southumpton and poke will all be looking to improve and fight for them places. with the achievement of Leicester they will all have the feeling that it's no longer impossible. Then add to that the new money in the game, It going to be no easy task. Ok we getting investment, but we are already behind these teams, so we are on catch up. Hopefully a good infestructure and good management team we can at least compete. I don't think the board would demand too much, but would want improvement on each season, so top ten to Europe push or cup win after that.

Not that I know this haha, just from what I see happening at the moment in the premier league.

It will be done when it's done. I don't think there's anything to worry about and Southampton are probably just dragging their heels to be a bit awkward.

Boxed off this week without a doubt.

Lukaku owes nothing to Everton unfortunately. It's his job and it pays his wage. As rumour stands, he lost his way towards the end because of the breakdown in relationship with Martinez. I for one, would welcome him for another season if his heart is in it. On his day (which was rare after Xmas) , he's up there as potentially one of the best in my opinion. Hope we get him to stay.

Well said king. Hopefully the new manager (hurry up koeman) will play to his strengths. We need to keep our best players and build tje team around them. I truely believe with the right manager the likes of rom ross and john will and can spearhead us to the top few places. i said last season i don't think were far off with the squad we already have. A couple of decent signings and the right manager and we will be amongst the big boys.
If none of our 1st teamers leave i'd like to see us sign a keeper, rb, left winger/ atk mid, striker and poss a new cb. our youth lads can replace the older boys/ out of contract.

05 Jun 2016 17:44:28
I can't stand his ego. It will never change and the way he has gone about a move away has been diabolical.

For me I want a team player that does exactly that. Puts the team before himself. I will gladly pack his bags for him and call a delta cab.

Does he really feel like an everton player or does a oviedo or besic interview sound more like a player we could all adore?

He said he wants to go so let him go 65mill from Chelsea we can get someone else for that sort of money.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Jun 2016 22:58:02
He owes the remainder of his contract. Period.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - If that were the case there would be no transfers.}

05 Jun 2016 12:25:26
Ed seen a few outlets reporting RK being offered 7mil a year! Haha! Obviously that's rubbish, as I see it, he hasn't even finished contract talks yet and the very idea the media are present, reporting back as it happens is ridiculous!
Think Moyes was 1mil a year if I'm not wrong?
What would you expect a club in our new situation to be offering a manager like RK? With his track record, do you think it will be a short term contract with a view to extend depending on his success?

Surely 7mil will be way off the mark anyway?

Believable1 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - I really don't like discussing money with football fans.}

05 Jun 2016 12:50:36
I'm also a money fan!

Agree1 Disagree0

05 Jun 2016 13:18:14
Martinez was on 3m a year so if Koeman were on 7m a year that would make him 4th highest in prem alongside Koop I wish our fans will see bigger picture with regards to Moshiri, kenwright has for years taken over a decade to make biggest decision of his life to find someone to take Everton to another level we have the financial backing to compete with the elite clubs now and have more business contacts which will open up new streams of revenue and a new stadium which will get built now this guy is here, the day Moshiri stepped in, the giant is starting to awake. Football will always have cycles and I have a feeling the next decade will be a successful period.

Agree1 Disagree1

05 Jun 2016 13:21:33
Mones was on far more than 1m. He was very highely paid by us. Retorted to be around 5m. Think about it, is a manager going to be happy on less than 20k a week (I know, poor them) when they have players on 5 or 6 times that.

Agree2 Disagree0

05 Jun 2016 13:33:53
Moyes at one time was the second highest paid manager behind Fergie but I find this hard to believe, but I believe he was on £5 million a year that is why he stayed at Everton so long and for me was worth every penny.

Agree2 Disagree1

05 Jun 2016 13:24:39
I don't think 6-7mil is that far off the mark tbh. In todays football that's nothing. Plus wr would have to offer bigger wages to attract coaches in the higher end as we don't have european football next season.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Jun 2016 09:10:18
just for fun how would you all like to see this "£100 million" spent would you like to see one or two real marquee signings or it spead across the entire squad personally I think we should be looking at shoring up positions that are weak at the moment or the player currently holding those place are aging (Jags, Baines) would also like to see some real competition for Coleman's place as I think he's a little too comfortable at the moment oh and I'm spectulating on the £100 mill total we may or may not have that kind of cash but it is a number that has been thrown around a lot in the press so I went with it.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - my preference would be for 1 marquee signing and 2 or 3 quality additions in defence mate..

05 Jun 2016 09:43:24
Agree with you Ed025, One of them quality signings imo would be Wijnaldum from Newcastle, big, powerful, bit of pace and scores goals.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Jun 2016 10:09:41
I would absolutely love mata although i don't think it would ever happen i do feel we need a quality midfielder as barkley mcarthy and barry are bang average i think.

Agree0 Disagree1

05 Jun 2016 10:29:01
Disagree Ryan Barry is more or less finished. Can't see him playing beyond this season but he will be valuable this season all the same. Most consistent player last season imo.

McCarthy and especially Barkley are young and will only get better with every season. Still have to see the best these 2 have to offer.

Some sort of goal keeper, right back and striker needed most imo. Maybe a left sided midfielder thrown in for good measure or a midfielder to challenge Barkley for his position.

That's obviously if we keep our current squad. If players leave which will probably happen they will obviously have to be replaced.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Jun 2016 11:04:15
Fair enough NBTB its a game of opinions but i think our midfield is trash mate id like a decent winger aswell.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - trash is very harsh ryan..

05 Jun 2016 11:20:38
I agree maybe a left sided midfielder and a player to challenge Barkley as I said. Where I'd be coming from is the way the team and midfield especially was set under Martinez. I think a new manager will have a different approach. We have plenty of defensive midfield players and right wingers who are decent players imo.

As I said I think a new manager with different ideas and approach can get more out of them. Take Mirallas for example. He hardly got playing last season. Seemed to me there was something personal with him and Martinez. I agree he can be a bit of a loose canon and is hard to manage but at the same time I thought he was underutilized last season.

Imho a fresh approach from a new manager who has various game plans and tactics up his sleeve will get more out of these players than our previous manager. That's my opinion Ryan. I'm not for one second saying its 100% correct. Just my opinion 😊.

05 Jun 2016 12:52:48
I don't see much need to improve the defense that much if we keep stones and mori. Maybe a defender that can play rb/ lb. Individually i think we have enough quality but that as a unit it wasnt working. For me forster in goal. A proper quality winger, maybe yarmalenko but wijnaldum is a good player as well. A quality cm, maybe someone like polish sevilla player who i will not attempt to name. A striker or 2 depending on lukaku. Would take pelle as 2nd choice. Particularly in 2nd rm year, lack of width was damaging defensively as well as attacking but that has improved but still an area for considerate improvement, the left side more so. I agree with comments about midfield, like barry and mcCArthy but need someone else in there alongside one of them.

Agree1 Disagree1

05 Jun 2016 13:03:53
I'd love Forster, Mane, Kante, a playmaker and then a striker to replace Rom. is that just being greedy.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Jun 2016 15:29:24
Cillisen, Fabien Schar, Wijnaldum, Saido Mane and maybe Alcacer from Valencia. Also I see Galloway as a centre half and I don't think Oviedo is quality enough for the left back spot, but Bertrand from Southampton is a Baines type player, can defend but also bomb forward.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Jun 2016 16:30:11
Imo a keeper is the priority. Joel, superb no 2 for me. Possibly a cb and lb. A left mid (cleverley osman Gibson doesn't do it for me) . Another striker (if lukaku stays, and maybe even is niasse becomes a footballer) and just to be ultra greedy, a younger Gareth Barry. Thank you Mr Moshiri.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Jun 2016 14:15:56
how much you reckon we would get Wijnaldum for Ed, think Geordies paid 14 million.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i would say around £20-25m degs, but thats just a guess mate..

05 Jun 2016 16:36:10
Yeah i think your right trash was harsh ed but i fell victim to beleiving the hype around them and these last two seasons have taken its toll, i hope they improve and live up to potential but i can't see it anymore.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - im hoping it was the roberto factor ryan and that they will improve under a new manager mate..

05 Jun 2016 08:06:09
Hearing a lot of people not wanting Sammy lee as his association with the devils club come on its almost 27 years since he wore a shirt bolton qpr Ossasuna to name 3 clubs since when he was trainer under houllier 7 trophies won in that time so i'm 59years old and we have bought players from them and all bar Peter Beardsley have won trophies with us could history about to repeat itself I for one hope so coyb by the way I love big duncan but didn't see to much under soft lad martinez as his coaching was never to the fore whoever goes or stays players and coaching staff will get my full backing once again coyb.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - sammy is a really nice guy as well as having a good reputation in the game AL, as you say people need to get over the past and look to the future mate..im getting very excited about it..

05 Jun 2016 08:28:33
He's one of the hardest working coaches in the game, a real grass roots football man, I say that as a very bitter blue. If you ever go to a youth game he's seemingly always there.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i cant see a problem with it to be honest il postino..

05 Jun 2016 08:29:49
Ed and Al
Even if Benitez had got the job (which he didn't and there is a god) we would have just had to grin and bear it!

So if Sammy does come along too if and when RK signs etc. . .
We must all give hime a fair chance and welcome him to the 'nicer' 'lighter' and 'brighter' side of Merseyside .

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - hes a professional 247 and im sure would jump at the chance to "come home" mate, i think we will be lucky to have him..

05 Jun 2016 08:52:04
From what I've heard, his brother will be coming as assistant and Sammy Lee staying.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - you may be right hugo, im sure things will become clearer over the next few days mate..

05 Jun 2016 08:05:28
£20m for a 29 year old off the back of 1 good season in the top flight. Anyone else think this is a bit silly? And if it's £20m for Vardy who is 7 years older than Lukaku then surely £50m is the start price for Rom to leave.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

05 Jun 2016 08:15:11
Its a release clause. They tend to be silly prices so that no club gets their pants pulled down by another club.
