Use our rumours form to send us everton transfer rumours.

05 May 2016 22:14:04
Just a thought, and has probably been voiced in previous posts,? But would it cost us more to sack r m now or let him stay till end of the season then terminate his contract due to his inabillity to forefill his expectations?
Just a thought.

He is only being tipped because his contract is running out. he probably wants a new one and him being linked, probably by his agent whispering in a few ears, gives the IFA a kick in the butt to get things moving.

I believe Barack Obama being our next manager more than him, especially with all the trouble between us and him.

What's with the transfer rumours this player that player I f we're do change managers who's to say he will want any of the players mentioned oh and by the way another final for the reds and the fools in charge of us says we're were successful by reaching 2 semis for gods sake get rid now.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

05 May 2016 21:52:31
. well, you have to hand it to the other side - they certainly seem to of appointed a great manager in Klopp getting them into a Europa league final with an average team. this is why we need to also recruit a top manager too to experience nights like they are too. we're not going to get into European cup finals with the likes of Howe, O'Neill or the flump from Rangers. we need a Pelligrini or a Koeman or dare I say it a Mourinhio. c. o. y. b!

I have question for anyone with a knowledge of who these thinks work. Ok so bk has agreed a deal with moshi werby moshi will buy enough stakes to basically own the club or be major shareholder, so if these 2 have had talks talked about efc future were they want to see the club go and agree so much so that bk and co agrees to sell 49.9% of the shares, obvs bk trusts moshi enough to make a deal so with this In mind and the fact he has granted (if reports are true) if when the board meet moshi's rep on the board says that mr moshi would like to see a change I manager to get us challenging again. Why on earth would bk try block it an stay with rm?, to me it makes more sense to let moshi show his ambition now so he knows if he done right deal or not. I hope that makes sense lol. Basically I dnt see why bk would block any request of moshi unless he dnt trust him, which clearly he does.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - he does trust him TB and thats why he will take overall control within a year, bill has always had a plan for this to be the way the club progresses and its well on the way to fruition mate..

05 May 2016 20:41:44
Some people seem to think that bk will hold on to rm, i can't see moshi wanting this tho, this why am asking, because if moshi says I want more now, is bk happy to oblige so to speak.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - bills imput will mean very little TB as we all know he will not be part of the future, well not in a decision making capacity anyway mate..

05 May 2016 20:53:11
Only ask because as I see it, if u been at a club challenging bu can't get a word I edge ways then sell to invest into another club so you can have a say in how to make this club challenge, seeing our current manager surly he would not be happy and want someone else.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - farhad,s strength is not on the football side of things TB and will take advice from people he trusts on these matters, thats how he works mate..

I know ed I was taking the Michael. Its the same questions daily, you eds need the patience of a saint.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - your right there gray, ED002 has just submitted a dossier of targets for the coming season which has obviously taken him a great amount of time and effort on his part, but you can bet your bottom dollar someone will ask if we are in for anyone this summer today.. :)

06 May 2016 09:59:34
Tbf ed002 gets some grief on here but he is always informative. He answers ridiculous questions with the response they require which tends to be sarcastic or blunt. When he is asked a genuine question he is top drawer with a knowledgeable answer.

05 May 2016 16:03:44
A new manager will not be discussed till the end of the season I believe that they will move Bobby on. No idea who will replace him or who should. I would like Simone, but that's not going to happen. So my question is how big a job does everyone think rebuilding Everton will be? Same question to the eds? Will it be looking g road back to 5th place and challenging for the top 4? We have new money now but will that be a quick road to the top or not? And then there is players to consider. A new manager will have players in and out to deal with. thoughts welcomed.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i dont think if we get a new manager he should set any targets smithy, that was part of bobbys downfall and i think just try to finish as high as you can would do for me mate and take it from there..

05 May 2016 19:43:22
I can't see a new manager coming in to be told "Just try and do better than RM". Whenever I moved to a new company as a manager I was given an objective, a target, and a timeframe in which to deliver. Mr Morishi is not going to let someone come in and have a go. He will give them a clear objective of qualifying for Europe, a target of a major trophy, continued success, and a timescale of say 2 years to get it rolling. He expects his investment to grow by success. That is why if they do let go of RM I see only a proven manager been trusted with the challenge he will set. Fools buy into a club to lose money and he is no fool according to business circles.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - pressure to achieve targets especially high ones actually achieves very little in my humble opinion nick, there is a re-building job to do at everton after the debacle of this season and stabilization of the club is paramount for me, bring in some new talent and ship out some of the lesser lights and players who dont want to be here i say, then hopefully after a bedding in period we can start to plan for the future...after all we dont want some guy coming in and promising us CL football then falling flat on his face do we mate?.. :)

05 May 2016 20:13:38
Appreciate and respect your reply ed, but Mr Abramovich has not done too badly with his demands at Chelsea. I agree there is a huge amount of work to do at Everton, but sometimes things have to run parallel. Let's get qualifying for europe while we build a new stadium and lay foundations for the future etc. Agree we don't want someone promising CL football. We want someone who will get CL football and on demand.

Have you any thoughts on who might replace RM if he does go?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - in a perfect world i would agree with you nick but maybe slowly slowly catchee monkey is the order of the day first season and hope that we move in the right direction without the pitfalls of expectation, i dont think the club know themselves who would be the best replacement for bobby mate (if he does go) and there will be a process in place and prospective managers interviewed before anything is decided i expect..

05 May 2016 20:21:19
I agree with you both Ed and Nick.
I think he will be set targets and a timescale but the bar won't be too high.
A couple of years to settle the ship, then maybe have a sit down and reset the targets.
As much as it's gloomy right now there is a lot to look forward too.
In his first statement Moshiri didn't say much, but at the same time he gave me a sense of ambition.
He mentioned a new stadium, I can't see him wanting to go through all that rigmarole without having a cracking team to play in it.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - fair points them frank..

{Ed025's Note - then you are doing the right thing jimmy..

06 May 2016 13:23:02
Could you do some kind of survey Ed to measure approximately how many on here have not renewd their season tickets .
i keep seeing more and more comments from thosevnot renewed inc myself .
Power to the people .
i been going since 1959.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - to be honest trebor a survey would provide little help in determining the volume of sales as posters are only a small minority, i know some like yourself see it as a protest and thats fair as lots of us are not happy how the last 2 seasons have gone, but things can change very quickly and if the manager is changed there will probably be an increase mate, so we need to trust the likes of moshiri who has already started the ball rolling with an overall of the scouting network and is making moves on the corporate front to do the right things for the club..

05 May 2016 14:45:48
Allright gang, Roberto here. Just thought I'd pop on and say what an incredible website this is.
I love all your posts, I think they are incredible, I can feel the passion, the intensity, and an incredible desire.

I was out with Mr Moshiri the other night, we were in the Royal Oak on County Road there. I think he likes me, he asked me where I got my brown shoes from, and he said I'm an incredible dancer.
He didn't say much else but I think that's because he couldn't get a word in.
I promised him championship football next year.
I left him in there with some incredible bird and got myself home.
Not sure what he meant but as I was leaving he said something like P45, I'm Spanish so I haven't a jar of glue what he means, I'll have to Google it.

Anyway, I'll have to go now, I'm going out to try and find a good defensive coach, I hear the Sandon on the dock road are a good team, so I might poach theirs.
If not I'll go and watch the under 11's in Stanley park and see if I can pick up some tips.

Your faithfully

Roberto M esquire.

Kilbane and Boylesports seem to think O'Neil is a big contender for Everton job. a lot not happy with him being linked. I'm not overjoyed myself. He definitely would not be my first choice but honestly I really admire that type of manager. I'd put him in the Pulis, Hughes, Moyes category. That type of manager is what we need imho. Not for the long-term future of the club but to stay for say something like 2 years. Steady the ship and try and get our defense back to being one of the best in the premiership.

We had that under our last manager and imho its the vital foundation to forming a formidable challenge to the premiership trophy. If you have a good tight defense to start with the rest of the team can be developed into winning consistently.

That's why I would not knock O'Neill coming. As I said a view to a short term appointment. I think he would work better and get more out of our current squad than Martinez. Put recruitment aside O'Neill is decent at getting a team organised and playing to their strengths.

With Ireland O'Neill done just that. Getting them into the Euros was a huge achievement. He had to work with what he had and done very well. He didn't rely on buying players. He focused on what he had and in the process got Ireland qualified at the expense of Poland.

I know people will start slating what I said because they see O'Neill and immediately I'm not being ambitious enough and want mediocre football. Nothing could be further from the truth. It's about consideration and not being so negative towards some mangers. I always rated Renieri (apologies for spelling) but the point is who thought he was going to win the premiership with Leicester?

We just don't need a manager who is a big name and who has won things. For me its more important to get a manager who suits the club, suits how to address the current problems of the club and is aware and can take the club forward in a positive way in terms of development.

O'Neill could very well be the man to do so. He done ok to goodish in his club management imho. Done very well with Ireland. We could do worse, we could also do better. Safe pair of hands imo which takes us away from the volatile form of this season. He is out of contract in the summer and has stalled on a new contract with Ireland. That means he will be very much available come the end of the summer.

Its all speculation at this stage as Martinez could well be our manager next season. Having the banter as they say.

I can see the following leaving:
Mcgeady
Hibbert
Howard
Osman
Mirrallas
Oviedo
Rom
Stones

I can see realistically 70-80 million coming for Rom and Stones. Money freed up from wages Moshri throwing another 80-100 mill.

We need a keeper my choice would be Butland
A nonense CB I know I might be shot down in flames but someone like Shawcross. We have up incoming rb Browning and Connolly .

A LB understudy for Baines I would give him another season as no.1 he will improve once Martinez is gone.

A CM enforcer llkay gundogan to replace Barry and for Besic to be the understudy.

A left winger Dres Mertens

Two strikers I like the look of Sakho from the hammers he's fell down the pecking order he has really impressed me when I've seen him. Bastuichyz from Marsielle.

Agree0 Disagree2

05 May 2016 15:27:07
That amount of money would be real nice.

Agreed we will need am keeper, I have not got a preference really on that, just needs to be a decent one.

If stones is to go, agree a no noncse CB like shawcross would be a decent buy, but even if stones don't go I still would, and I like the idea many have played with about pushing stones forward to a DM role. His range of passing could see a instant replacement for Barry.

We need a RB, browning is going to be a CB and Connolly Might be a bit too young. Also Galloway will transition into a CB, big strong lad that can defend and tackle as well.

We already have 2 good LB, Oviedo is a good player, just not found his best form back from before his injury, scored some good goals back then, and there is garbutt still to come back from loan.

We have needed a left wing for some time now, doesn't mertens play more a forward role now? Don't think he would appreciate getting pushed out on the wing if he does now.

A striker I like, and il get crucified for it, he reminded me from the day I first saw him of our famous big dunc, injured as much as well, and as I watch him now he is good in the air, good with his feet and defenders must hate playing against him cause he terrorises them to deaf and always give 100%, ignore his playing past, we have had them from the dark side before. Andy Carroll (let the insult begin hahaha) but seriously just watch him.

Last of all, I fail to see what I'm answering have anything to do with the original post, which was about O'Neill. But I had nothing to say on that haha.

Agree0 Disagree0

That should of said death. deaf, hahaha.

I know not many will agree with you on Carroll BeStyrne but I do. I can see why Blues wouldn't want him for obvious reasons but if he kept injury free he would be a good buy for anyone. Nothing like a big strong centre forward who can throw his weight around. Just like big Dunc. I love the determination and strength these players show. Especially in the air for headers.

Realistically can't see us having £150m plus to spend. If we do all the better but I'd rather see a development of a good stadium as a priority. Don't think we can afford a massive transfer pot while trying to get a new stadium at the same time. Even with new investor.

Decent manager along with £60m would see us doing a lot better imo. Rather work on the long-term aspects of the club like the stadium.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 May 2016 20:13:27
I think we need to show a bit more ambition than O'Neill. He's a likeable man (ring any bells? ) but hasn't got the greatest track record in England, he's mainly managed teams coming up from the championship or mid table teams. I think someone mentioned on here that he had to shoulder a bit of blame for the predicament Villa are in and I agree to an extent. Although it is possible he was made promises and that's why he spent a bit of cash but it was certainly the start of the rot. To be honest, I'm sick of all the speculation as to who will be the next manager, sick of the way some fans expect to be in the know and sick of how impatient some are with the board.
Once this season is over then we will have a better idea of how Moshiri wants to move us forward. Ultimately, that will mean we will know if, and when, we are getting a new manager. Again, patience is needed by us all.
On the subject of Andy Carroll it has to be a big fat no. Not even talking about his previous stint with that lot, his injury record is woeful. He can be a handful on the pitch without a doubt but for a third of the season? Not a gamble we should even be thinking of. If we sell Rom, who guarantees near the 20 goal a season mark, then we should at least be looking to replace him with someone who will score the same amount of goals. AC is having a successful season if he plays in 20 games, he will never stay fit enough to hit 20 goals.

Major upheaval during the summer!
New owners
Players out of contract
Players wanting to leave
Hopefully new manager
The search for a new stadium
We are entering s new era with Everton the board must be strong and make the right decisions with TV payments being huge mistakes can't be made.

If the Board (it is a big if) are contemplating dispensing with Mr Martinez services, I do hope that the sensible one's among them look at the last two seasons as a whole. The last two seasons (I believe the first one was a combination of new Manager syndrome and defensive Moyes legacy) are a true indicator that Mr Martinez is not suited to our Club, indeed the last 8 years are an indicator he is not a Premiership Manager. There is every likely hood that we will win our final 3 games, (we are better than Sunderland and Norwich on our worse day and Leicester have nothing to play for) , Mr Martinez will spin that finish as an example of his prowess, with his usual phenomenal, exciting, supercalafragelisticexpialadocious, speech and I am afraid there may still be some that fall for it.

I have to go along with Franks post reluctantly and realistically!

The bright side of this of course, would be the underlining of RM's failure as a PL manager!
I remember the season WAFC went down and chatting to a guy who supported them, (on a non footy forum ) whose mentality was 'we will still have the best pork pies in the league and now we have the FA cup'

Errrm we are Everton football club and nothing but the best will do etc. was my reply and RM wasn't the best then and he ain't the best now!

I have mates at Wigan and when they were in the Prem, the talk was often about Martinez and his against setting a Team up not to concede. Generally he got away with it and was lucky (their opinion) until that last season. Unfortunately for us, I think he has more support on the Board than we realise and with Mr Kenwright still having huge power at the Club unless Mr Moshri steps in then Mr Martinez is going nowhere (he certainly is talking like a man who is staying) .
