Did we get rod of yobo? the deadline has passed now {Ed025's Note - aint heard nothing yet mate...sorry..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yobo is well down the pecking order, he is on decent wages as well, i hope he goes in january {Ed025's Note - he has gone on loan to fenerbahce for the season.....good riddance!

Agree0 Disagree0

Yobo gone (for now!) {Ed025's Note - yes he has mate.

I don't rate Anichebe but i think fans should get behind every member of the squad and don't cheer because he's injured we need all the strikers we can get... even if they are a useless piece of s**t

-Toffeeboy- {Ed025's Note - i get your point TB...if he does play, he should get full support from the faithful....lets just hope he does not play!

Believable2 Unbelievable0

I remember him having a good game against city on the wing at goodison last season, he just isn't good enough to replicate it every week

Remember when Baines and Pienaar did all that sw**ky play on the left? And those times when Pienaar did a fancy bit of skill but then was not fast enough to do the next bit? Well with Drenthe I can see those good times returning but with some real pace {Ed025's Note - ill buy into that..

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Royston rampaging down the left with Bainsey. Dennis the Menace smashes a couple in on his debut....
Mikel who???? {Ed025's Note - i hope you right...but we will still miss arteta..

If Moyes was to leave (which I hope not!). Who would you guys like as manager? What about Paul Lambert? Bilic? They would be my replacements. {Ed025's Note - lambert would be a good shout..but as you say, lets hope david stays..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think moyes will stay, but if i had to choose someone it would probably be lambert or coyle

Bez the blue {Ed025's Note - coyle...not a bad shout bez..

Agree0 Disagree0

Martin o'neill or mark hughes could do a good job for us, but coyle would be my favourite as well. Moyes is going nowhere though. {Ed025's Note - coyle would be my pick....if the worst happened..

Personally i really like Chris Houghton. Thought he done an unbelievable job for Newcastle and was very harshly treated and unf

Agree0 Disagree0

I personally really like Chris Houghton. Thought he done an outstanding job at newcastle united and was very harshly treated and unfortunate to have been sacked when he made them the most successful championship winners with over 100 points. I believe on his day he would get the job done just like moyes does.

..Sorry i had to rewrite the message as i cocked it right up the first time!

Agree0 Disagree0

Houghton is currently doing a distinctly average job at Birmingham, not good enough for the blues. Then again, who IS better than Moyes?

Agree0 Disagree0

Bilic or o'niell they would be my replacements

Have you heard if Yobo has gone Ed. {Ed025's Note - not yet..as far as i know....but the sooner the better..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The yobo transfer is a long running saga, we need to offload his wages. i wish he would just do one!!

Bez the blue {Ed025's Note - that would be best for all concerned..

Anybody know exactly how long baines is out for?? {Ed025's Note - its a hamstring injury....depending on the severity...1-4 weeks..

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Baines never seems to get injured, lets hope he doesn't miss more than one game, he is our most influential player. Is there any chance he could play saturday ed?

Bez the blue {Ed025's Note - i have heard that it was more precautionary, more than anything....so yes..he could play!..

Beckford is no great loss. There's no point keeping a player Moyes doesn't rate. Same reason it made sense to shift the Yak. The new striker will fit into the team better than beckford {Ed025's Note - myself...i think he got a raw deal...he did not fit into the lone striker role..i think he is a good player! but if moyes does not want him.....then who am i to argue!..

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Yakubu was never going to play anyway so makes no difference.
All we've done is sell a player for £4 million who didn't suit the system we play, and replaced him with a loan signing who does. Which when you're financially struggling makes sense. {Ed025's Note - cant argue with that..

Agree0 Disagree0

How do you know the new striker will fit the system better? Before you say "well Moyes got him in....." Remember i doubt he thought last season "we will sign Beckford but he wont fit our system".

I wish people would stop raving about the Argy before even seeing him play (a highlights reel doesnt count) give the lad a chance to settle before heaping the pressure on him!

Baines is a fantastic LB and I think I'm right in saying that based on form he should be in the England team over Cole. Good to hear he won't be out for too long.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

He does deserve it, but I'd rather he wasn't, less chance of injury(i'm selfish ha)

I and many thousands must be missing something with Anichebe cos I dont think he has the touch or the quality to be a premiership player {Ed025's Note - he never has!....

Possible team for Saturday?
NOTE: DOUBTS: Anichebe,Baines, Coleman.

Howard
Neville - Jagielka - Distin - Drenthe
Osman - Felli - Rodwell
Bilyaletdinov
Denis - Saha

I think Cahill would be better used as a impact player, I'd like to see the Denis and Louis combination too, I'd love to see Bily in his natural position and hopefully prove his critics wrong(me)

GP

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Sorry, just remembered, I'd actually have Barkley instead of Rodwell.

GP {Ed025's Note - me too..

Agree0 Disagree0

Could we not slot rodders into centre back, put distin at left back and push drenthe forward. I am still hoping baines makes it for saturday.

Bez the blue {Ed025's Note - i would like us to try that set up bez..maybe in the league cup?

Agree0 Disagree0

Trying players in unknown positions could result in a disaster, try it in the FA Cup/League Cup if anything, not the league! {Ed025's Note - i said that mate

Agree0 Disagree0

As long as we line up 4-4-2 and have a go at villa i will be happy. The crowd will play a big part on saturday as well, we need to get behind the lads and kick start our season, this match on saturday is very winnable

Bez the blue {Ed025's Note - as much as i would like to see it...i cant see david starting with anything other than 4-5-1 bez...

Agree0 Disagree0

I would love that but there is no way moyes will switch to 4-4-2

Baines is injured! Dont know what happened, sky sports just saying that he is ruled out of the wales game! Bloody interntionals cocking everything up! Thats 2 injuries now!

**************************************

Totally agree, mate. I know the players would disagree but I hate it when they're called up for international matches. We have a thin enough squad anyway without injuries at national duty. And to make matters worse it's Bainsey, our best player who we don't have cover for! I'm not a bit bothered about England, Everton are my team.

Toffee Tezza

IMWT

Believable4 Unbelievable1

We need bainsey as he contributes so much. It seems a minor injury with him having a chance of playing on saturday, so fingers and everything crossed lads, if not moyes might play distin at left back and johnny in the centre

Bez the blue

Agree0 Disagree0

Think he'll play neville left back and heitinga right back

Agree0 Disagree0

Neville left back and hibbert right back we will have nothing going forward but at least we will have a hard defence aha {Ed025's Note - the only thing hard about that..is its HARD to comprehend!..

Hi toffee's, im a manchester united fan but my grandad was a blue, he lived in huyton but i have grew up in southampton but i have a soft spot for everton and watch out for there results.
Just wondering why everyone is so negative on this page, everton have in my opinion one of the best manager's in the league behind Sir Alex. Moyes is better than Wenger because at least wenger has had some money to spend, moyes hasn't and some of the player's he has got for a couple of million shows what knowledge of football he has.
As for your squad, player's like Howard, Baines, Jagielka, Fellaini, Rodwell, Cahill, Osman and this new lad Drenthe would get in most teams in the league, i also rate Coleman thing he is raw talent, you also always seem to produce young talent, not saw much of this Barkley lad but heard good things about him, a friend of mine in liverpool told me he was your best player against QPR.
I still think everton will be a threat this season, there is no pressure on them and no-one expecting them to be in europe so i think that could be a good thing for you lot. The only pressure everton are getting is from the fans haha ! The only negative really is that you don't have many striker's.
Hope you have a great season, keep your chins up !

Carl ( closet blue ) haha

Believable10 Unbelievable0

Yeah - united fans just love it when other cannonfodder fans put up with this stitched up unfair uncompetitive league format whereby they (utd / city) get to win all the trophies forever and a day bacause of the champions league payments - but they dont want us wandering off to watch something fairer and more interesting - they want us to carry on supporting our 'never win anything again' teams for the next few decades until we finally realise what mugs we've been - so they cheer us up with occassional compliments and encouragement to keep us watching their team beat ours, making them feel great and us feel not so great.
It really hacks me off seeing what Fergie n Wenger and their UEFA mates have done to European and English football.

Seeing the trophies just being one time after time by the same priviledged 2 or 3 teams forever and a day is ridiculous -
something should be done about it

either those 3 or 4 teams should fk off into a euro league or the payments from the champs league should be revised to spread it more evenly across other teams in the league - otherwise we may as well just get used to coming 8th and see football become boring - like it is in Scotland

(the very least they should do is exclude european competing teams from the League cup - at least the rest of the league would have some chance of winning something occassionally. )

As soon as we get a decent player like Rooney or Barkley, Fergie just steps in and robs him off us cos his budget is 10 times bigger than ours.
How is this in any way fun for the teams not having their faces in the champs league trough?

United current titles are devalued now - cos only 2 or 3 teams can win it - so tilte won these days should not count for one won backin the 60s or 70s when a dozen clubs had a chance of winning

19 titles my arse!

Agree0 Disagree0

Actually I don't know why ur slating Wenger mate, he has essentially done with Arsenal what Moyes dreams he could with Everton, on a midget budget, and with very capped wages. Which is why Arteta took a pay cut to come to us. What Wenger has done with our squad is miraculous over the last few years, so on behalf of all the Arsenal fans, please don't lump us in with the Chelseas Uniteds and Cities please.
Raz {Ed025's Note - i agree with you raz....

Agree0 Disagree0

Wenger was there at the start when the 'top clubs' (those who just happened to be in places 1-4 at that time, when champs league was introduced) got their heads together to work out how the champions league would operate.

Once that stitch up was worked in their favour, those clubs never looked back. Arsenal Manu Liverpool helped structure the deal as they knew it would take and keep them out of reach of everyone else.

With the odd exception of Chelsea and Man City poking their noses in that's pretty much what has happened (apart from Liverpool being a bit crap lately - but still with big enough bankable money to turn it around).

Arsenal fans are getting jumpy and all 'woe is me' cos the apple cart has been upset by Man City joining the top table - and disturing their cosy little club of Chelsea - Liverpool - Arsenal - ManUtd who expected to be there forever and a day.
Now it might be liverpool (due to rich owner) taking Arsenal's place, they don't like it - but they didn't mind when they were in the cosy club.

Welcome to Everton's world Gunners. If you drop out of the champs league for a couple of years you'll be in the same boat as everyone else - having to sell your best players to the likes of Man Utd as if it's their birthright to be at the top forever.

All we want is a more level playing field where everyone has a reasonable chance - even the likes of Derby and Notts Forest, like in the 70s, - cos if this carries on then the fans of other clubs will start to get hacked off and it might just kill the goose that layed the golden egg.
Do the 'top 4' clubs really just want to win an uncompetitive league forever and a day?
You betcha - they dont care as long as the money and silverware keep rolling in.

Should the rest of us start to complain more about it - yes we should. {Ed001's Note - I think everyone should complain about, fans of all the clubs should be against it. It makes the league so much worse.}

I know he isn't great, but as we only have 4 strikers till january, we could do with all of them staying fit

Hi does anybody know that if we get some new rich owners. That we would be able to spend big money or would it be to late now due to finacial fair play. I am not saying it would be pointless getting new owners but it would sill take a few years before we could spend big wouldn't it? {Ed025's Note - it would be a knock on effect...new owners= bigger sponsorship, which brings in more revenue, so bigger and better players..

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Thanks ed do you not think that we would still be behind some clubs. I mean we could not just go out and buy five top players like city have done so we could still struggle for champions league. {Ed025's Note - its not going to happen overnight, you are right about that..

Agree0 Disagree0

We would only need a top class striker added to our ranks to really have a outside chance of the top 4. If we had defoe i would be confident of a top 5 place. I think our current squad is that close especially with the introduction of barkley and drenthe

Bez the blue

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes - it's all been stitched up for quite a while - since the champs league was introduced and the teams at the top then were more or less set in stone

then when upstarts man city threw a spanner into the cosy cartel the likes of Fergie n his mates decided to move the goal posts agains so that 2 or 3 clubs will snaffle all the trophies for ever and a day

why the supporters of every other club aren't up in arms about it I don't know

remember the old days when a team like derby or notts forest could win the league - that's never going to happen again is it - why have we, and why do we, all just put up with this completely unfair state of affairs?

The fans of all the other clubs should start kicking off about it
