just been watching arsenal in the champs league half time they are 2-0 down! olympiacos are closing them down very quickly not giving them time to settle and forcing mistakes! they are attacking arsenal with pace and purpose, passing and moving, this is exactly what we should do on saturday and every week! we have players capable of doing this just need moyes to totally change his mind set my team for saturday.
howard
neville jags distin baines
fellaini
coleman bily drenthe
saha vellious

its a risky set up i know, but if everyone is on par then it will be very attacking, bily is no winger but he can see a pass and can shoot better than most in the prem if he is playing in a more central role then he could pick passes to release saha and vellious and any loose balls outside the box he should be intructed to shoot everytime, plenty of pace on the wings good height in the box for crosses and felli protecting back 4, its different and lets be honest the current set up is boring and not giving us anything to shout about and we have lost alot more than we have won so why not try something like this? if it doesnt work then back to the drawing board!

Believable2 Unbelievable0

"Olympiacos are closing them down very quickly and not giving them time to settle"

exactly! Everyone knows this is how winning teams play footy - but we don't do it - and we also don't pass and move when we have the ball - we're so fkn static and lifeless it's unbelievable - sack the coach

I have started the moyes out campaign not personal but realistic ...we are not going another ten years listening to moyes and the board saying how hard it is when the price of the club rises each year for kenwright to cream a big profit .... moyes likes lapdogs and round is one ...thats why andy holden never got the job as assistant cos he know more than moyes .... moyes out we need to move on ... i could get them playeres more motivated myself !!

Believable3 Unbelievable5

This is markyg and i want change ...sick of this after ten years we are far better than what moyes is giving us !! moyes out

Agree1 Disagree4

I have mixed feelings about this, moyes has done alot for us and if not for him we may not be in the prem but on the other hand he will continue to play players out of position and pick his favourates to start games regardless of there form, so maybe time for a change! ideal scenario moyes stops being so stubbon and picks a team that is capable of exciting the fans with a good mix of youth and experience and for god sake drop cahill and osman! then ill be more than happy for him to continue,

Dont worry lads just over a week left now before you break up for Crimbo PADDOCKBLUE

It killed me writing this, but if DM went, what about big Rafa Benitez?? Worth a thought... He's available, lives in Merseyside, has won major silverware for the shi*e and it pains me to say, I think he would do the biz. {Ed025's Note - i dont think its an option mate...do you remember his "small club rant", i dont think the fans would forgive him...

Believable0 Unbelievable6

A kopite writing if i ever saw one

Agree3 Disagree0

A lot wouldn't I agree with that, but I think investors would look at us in a different light if a recognised, well travelled manager was on the scene. Plus if he started winning games and attracted some big name players, I don't think the fans would be arsed.. {Ed025's Note - dont bank on it mate!!

Agree0 Disagree2

No kopite mate, just a realist!

Agree0 Disagree3

Way off the mark mate

Agree1 Disagree1

Admitedly it's a long shot but there's no perfect answer.. Other managers either won't come anywhere near us or are too inexperienced.. Just throwing a few ideas about.

CM plays box to box as attacker. He follows the ball and links up with play creating a pass option. Other CM holds and passes when in possession and chases play when we lose the ball. He creates a pass option for the defence and links both wide players. When they cross and we don't have the ball they fill in for each other. Wide men overlap with LB and RB and again fill in. Team defends from the front and we push up and close down even when their goalkeeper has the ball. Front man/men make runs to stretch opponents prepared to receive the ball or not to create space and confusion. long balls from back to front usually create a 50/50 second ball which works best in a 4 4 2, with flick on's. Attacking CM follows these long balls. In 4 5 1 a creative CM links all from centre to channels. Works best when more players in the team are two footed as this allows for quicker distribution when receiving ball on either side of the body. I don't play computer games.

What a waste of type lol

After calling for Moyes to move on yesterday as he has taken us as far as he can Roberto Martinez would be an attacking manager for us , we should of got Martin Oneil while he was for nothing grrrrr good luck to Moyes when he does go tho

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Good shout earlier for Dave Jones and Peter Reid as a team

Agree3 Disagree1

We could have the pope as manager and it would make no difference without money to spend. We have a fantastic manager but he has never been able to compete due to a lack of funds. My regret with Moyes is that if he was to leave, he would have never been given the chance to fulfill his potential with the blues. Martinez? Are you really being serious? (Wavertree Blue)

Agree1 Disagree0

And are you prepared to put up with ordinary for the next ten years cos im not idiot

Agree0 Disagree0

No money to spend?...kroldrup, Bilyaletdinov, Beattie...need i go on?
Truth is he doesnt know what to do with money

Agree0 Disagree1

I'm just giving my opinion and because I don't happen to agree with the shxte that your talking, doesn't mean I'm an idiot......idiot. (Wavertree Blue)

Agree0 Disagree0

Hughes,Martinez,Oneil etc all managers who Moyes has out done with some having alot more money to spend, get a grip. And to the tool who said Moyes doesnt know what to do with money every manager makes bad buys including the best Ferguson,Mourinho etc look at the money Moyes has made this club Lescott,Arteta,Rooney? and still can and proably will have to Baines,Jags,Rodwell,Coleman,Barkley and even though Fellaini cost 15m if he doesnt get his usual early year injury he has the ability to be excellent.WAVERTREE BLUE you are spot on mate

We cant afford new players so how can we afford to get rid of moyes??

his contract would cost a fortune to terminate, compensation to a club for a new manager if attatched would cost a fortune and a transfer budget for a new manager would cost a fortune...

drop round down to stubbsies assistant, that way if he doesnt want to stay we wouldnt have to pay him off, get someone new in as moysies number 2, moyes is not enjoying the job at the minute, himself and round look like a married couple of 40 years going through the motions.

Dont know who would be the man to bring in but it would give moyes someone new to bounce ideas off...

There is nothing good I can say about EVERTON F C right now. There is going to be NO INVESTMENT or TAKEOVER in the near future. There is going to be NO MONEY for January, so no Transfers unless free.
The fans are starting to turn against David Moyes just like they are againt KENWRIGHT. BK has lied to the EFC fans and is still lying to them. David Moyes says he is not sure if there will be any money this January BK says there will be funds available. So why Moyes uncertainm because he knows KENWRIGHT is LYING when he says there will be funds this January. What happened to the so called INVESTORS and the TAKEOVER people that were supposed to be talking to BK. The truth is there is NOBODY talking to BK and there has not been. If there had been why not give Everton fans a hint. It is time EVERTON FC had new owners and a new MANAGER.

when closing opponents down - not something we do much of - the whole team needs to be doing it - like a pack - all constantly on the move - hunting down the ball - at the moment one of our guys will do it for 5 or 10 seconds, but because no one is backing him up - the opposition can just play it around our Mr Keen and he gets knackered, looks a wally, and gets no reward for his efforts - and he think to himself "why am I knackering myself out chasing balls down when no one else is, and the opposition just play it around me and make me look daft" - so he stops doing it as well - so not moving and closing the opposition down becomes infectious

sack the coach I reckon and get Irvine back in there - then get them all moving and working as a pack -

you could see how it was going to be this season in the villareal preseason friendly -they were working their socks off - all on the move - 3 touches at most - and we were making it up as we went along - slow and plodding

...Hibbo for Golden Boot

Only one armband? You tight sod! At least give him two... It's a long swim back to Russia when we chuck him in the Mersey you know! Give the lad a sporting chance...

You could always put the arm band over his eyes, couldn't really make him any worse and he wouldn't be able to see tackles coming and thereof not be able to pull out of them.!!

Would it b a fair call everytime the supporters protest, magically Bill Kenright says we are close to b sold. I think we have no buyers interested because of our circumstances.

Why is moyes coming out and saying he is unsure about funds in january? Didnt kenwright say there is money availiable in january and he and moyes have already spoke about the players they want!
Im confused? Do we have money for january or not?

06 Dec 2011 10:11:10
not a rumour but I think that moyes is doing ok without real money BUT the only guy who could do the job without money if he left would be david jones with peter reid as his number 2 .david jones ex efc player big evertonian great experience esp on a shoestring at cardiff and a very attacking manager when he was boss at southampton and peter reid would just say it as it is and show rodwell and few others how to get stuck in more .both are available the best duo since batman and robin..cheers to all evertonians just keep going ...tp

I am not saying that Moyes is blame free in the way Everton are playing at the moment,no matter what team he is able to field.....but I do believe that we need to re-instate Alan Irvine alongside him again because since Steve Round has been here we have been more negative than positive in more games! Moyes can only work with players he has and we don't have creative midfielder, nor a top striker at the club at the moment. Saha when he is fit spends most of his time thinking he is still 25 & appears on either wing or deep in midfield,so when the ball actually reaches the box...Saha aint got the pace to get in there where he should be. Heitinga should not be allowed to pull on a Blue jersey anymore and we should not expect Velios to start many games at the moment as he doesn't have the strength & guile needed for the Prem yet. Fans screaming for Barkley to play all the time should remember he is only 17 and still recovering from a triple leg break last season. I don't think he is ready to compete against the likes of Modric,Toure,Silva etc. If the fans keep making their feelings known like of late then I fear David Moyes will walk.....and that will be a dark dark day for Everton FC.

Believable6 Unbelievable1

I agree - the coaching seems to be crap - if you look at the team on paper it's worth more than most of the teams below us - but we're playing like nobheads - nobody is passing and moving - balls played behind or straight at the man instead of in front - nobody moving into space to receive the ball - so it goes to coleman on the wing who has no idea what to do, as most defenders have worked him out - and he gets stuck with it on the touchline - and so it goes back to hibbert - and then back to jags - who has no outlet in midfield because Fellaini or rodwell or osman have gone walkabout somewhere or are 'hiding' behind an opponent - so jags has no option but to hoof it into the air.
Every time Jags hoofs it into the air we should be blaming the central midfielders for not making themselves available.

Finally some sanity.
Great post, the players need to take the responsibility on the pitch and many of them at the moment are willing to do that.
