OK lads it's been fun for the large part, but for now I must return to the mad house that is the United page, I will grace u again sometime soon, that u can be sure of :)

Its all been good banter lads and I've had fun and I'm glad most of you took it as that, I'm guessing a lot of u have had fun to sticking it to me too (Thanks for allowing a lot of my posts threw to ED).

Again Thanks for the laughs guys and girls & good luck for the rest of the season.

The United boss said: "Shinji has a sickness bug and has been unwell.

"We need to see how he is on Saturday but he wasn't too good after the Everton game."

Must have caught it in Gareth Barry's back pocket

looking forward to Sunday, excellent season so far with some superb TEAM performances, many unsung heroes and can't fault anyone, never honestly expected the current management staff to get the team playing so well, COME ON BLUES. keep it going

Not looking forward to it myself mate, was with Man U but Arsenal are a far better team, roll on Monday

Degsybluenose

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note -i am degsy, they are the best team in the prem at the moment and the emirates will be a difficult place to go, but it will give us a true indication of where we are at this time. their movement in midfield and attack will be the sternest test we are likely to encounter this season mate, if our defence can cope with them, and we can create some decent chances ourselves i will be a very happy blue..i say bring it on!..

I just hope we continue to ride our luck defensively - or, preferably, defend better as a team and deny opportunities for the opposition. I also think that Arsenal's midfield will be a very tough test for our midfield and we'll have to be on top of our game IMHO.
KevinM

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - 8 clean sheets this season is not all down to luck kev, there is a fair amount of skill and determination there as well mate, for which jags and co deserve some credit..

Ed025: I see your point about the clean sheets, but I still think of late that we're seeing a few too many panicky moments defensively and also a number of opposition goal attempts luckily (for us!) hitting the woodwork. Thank goodness IMHO for Barry (and McCarthy) being a defensive shield in front of Jagielka and Distin.
KevinM

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - you must realise this is a bit new to our back 4 kev, they have progressed to playing the ball out of defence with a purpose, rather than hoofing it away mate, for us to progress even further, yes they need to be more comfortable on the ball, but they are learning fast and i for one am loving it...im with you on the barry and mccarthy shout..

Anyone who is nervous about Sunday join the club, I am looking forward to our trips to Napoli and city with pure excitement, but your visit on Sunday does worry me a bit.
Long before your brilliant win at UTD I was weary of our game against you Sunday, I'd take a 1 0 win in the most boring game of the season and be ecstatic right now.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i cant see it being boring though 62, two of the most attractive teams in the league for me mate, let battle commence, and the best team win..hopefully us.. :)

Arsene has praised Everton and Martinez snd has said he is preparing his side for a difficult game.
Teams are starting to take notice of our threat so Sunday, (if we already didn't know) is going to be a very difficult game.
Lets hope Arsenal are more worried about us than we are of them and they go into their shells, however I think the Gooners seem to be made of sterner stuff these days.
Respect where respect is due they are a quality side, but so are we now.
We have matched and beaten the better teams, so if we can do it Sunday then long may our run continue.
I'm just enjoying the ride at the mo!
Coyb

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - me too AW, arsenal are a proper football club and deserve respect, i would like to see them win the league, (that is of course we dont).. :)

Ed025 I think a cracking game is on the cards and usually I urge us to take on anyone and everyone, but can't help but feel anyone who can get 6 points from you this season will be champions how ever they get them.
Professional performance Sunday then go for it with Napoli and city says me

Agree0 Disagree0

I have great respect for arsenal! they are a great side and are not arrogant about it!

Agree0 Disagree0

I think it will define our sason, but would have took that all day long with hind sight, we will have the edge in midfield I believe in a defencive manner also on the break. bring it on tom efc.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dogs of War, totally agree. Gunner62 gives me a buzz speaking about us like that. 11 years of Moyes and low expectations does that! Nice feeling knowing we can go to Emirates with no fear. You have a top team u got to be confident for the title. Think youl be the one English team flying the flag in latter stages of Champs league

I love the Christmas present/empty box analogy as used by a fellow Blue below to Chris the RED man. Have a look at the Manchester United banter page. They are all making Christmas wish lists. Jeez if they sign just a few of these they will end up with a squad 10 times the size of anyone elses. They are also wanting to get rid of everyone. I hope for their sakes the manager has a calmer head. I suspect they are a club in crisis just now. I wonder what happens if they do fail to make top 4?
Glad to say it's good to be Blue just now. Let's hope we sustain it and get a result on Sunday. If we do I would say anything is possible.
Degsypulford

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I hope the effort - physical and mental - needed against ManUtd hasn't drained our players too much, as they'll need to be at their best IMHO to get a result against Arsenal. RM's choice of starting players, later substitutions, team formation, and tactics will be very interesting. At least he'll be positive and won't just be looking "to get out alive"!

Am I the only Blue on here that believes if we beat Arsenal on Sunday and we bring in two quality players in jan that we can actually win the league.Remeber if we win on Sunday were only 4 points behind Arsenal and they have some very hard games coming up plus they buckled at Old trafford. If the pundits and Lfc fans believe there title contenders then why the hell are we not were better than Liverpool they were happy with there point against us were as we were the better team and it felt like two points dropped I swear this to you my fellow blues if we win Sunday we will be top come the first January i'm not dreaming people will say i'm not living in the real world but actually I am you will be a brave man not to believe if we win on Sunday come on Everton let's take it to them.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Stef, I absolutely love the optimism but in all seriousness, we have zero chance of winning the Prem. Yes, if we beat Arsenal we will be in a very, very strong position but we don't have as much strength in depth as the teams above us. No doubt we are big contenders for top 4 but that's it. Perhaps give it 3 or 4 years under Martinez and you never know, we could be title challengers, although we would need a considerable amount of investment into the squad in the region of £50 mil. Great to see optimism though Stef, there's a lot of it at the moment and for good reason!

I also went on Manchester United Banter page and see they are still grumbling about paying 18 million for Baines. So I said to them that we are happy to keep him. I said pay the money or shut up. Simples! After all we can charge what we like for our players.especially a 2nd choice left back. LMFAO.

They have to constantly talk about players from other clubs because they don't have any good players of their own. Its all want want want, buy buy buy. For a year they have been gagging for fellaini. All of a sudden they open their big fancy present and find a big wrapped box with nothing in it. They then moan to santa realising the gift they wanted is not what they thought. If they want Baines, itl cost them 18m. End of discussion. The beauty is that they will pay it and when they open their present they will find another empty box. Because Leighton Baines will not be a success at Utd. One bad game they will rip into him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry! 2nd choice lb to who?
So after 1 good game Oviedo is now 1st choice and Baines is thrown on the scrap heap?
Classy!

Agree0 Disagree0

Wow a red who don't get sarcasm. unheard of.

scousedownsouth

Agree0 Disagree0

That's the point Chris the REDman. You lot are grumbling about the price. As the meerkats say, "simples". Pay it or forget it. You don't go into ASDA and say, "look your apples are 18 pence each but I think they are a bit too expensive. I am only willing to pay you 10 pence". When Asda laugh at you and you walk out bleating to everyone that you still don't have an apple, you know the reason why. Just because players in the past wanted to join you, that does not mean they are gagging to sign for you right now. Especially after this week's result. And yes the bit about Baines being 2nd choice was sarcasm as pointed out by my fellow Blue.
Degsypulford

Agree0 Disagree0

Things getting a bit boring over on the Man U page, Chris? Or are you just checking around on who to glory hunt, sorry, support when Utd stop buying, sorry again, winning trophies?

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh Tezza ure banter just gets better!

The reason why I'm still here? Well after our little debates before the game and after, u have all found a new little friend in me:) the banter is normally decent so I thought i'd stick around on what is called banter page to continue what I thought was a good old bit of banter I had with a few.

Dnt worry I won't be around all the time (sorry guys) ;) but for now I thought I would stick around and read through the over the top reactions from many on here (it will make it more fun when it crumbles)
and have some adult banter with you all (dnt worry degsy you can play too)

So while I'm here I must say I thought u were VERY lucky to win wednesday what do you think?

again thanks to a few for the humour and again let's keep it civil now girls :)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - it was not luck chris, we went to OT with no fear, and although we both had chances i thought we deserved to win, and only for some shoddy final ball decision making it could have been more!, your a red, so im sure you wont agree mate..

I think chris the redman is a closet blue nose.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry but you where out though and out fought. worst united team for 20 years. and you come on here wanting a reaction.

well here you go you have a team full of workhorses with no skill without rooney you are nothing. if it don't improve forget about Baines you will lose rooney in the transfer window. because he is bigger than united.

Agree0 Disagree0

So chris the redman thinks we were lucky.wants to have a chat with some of your own fans who are actually humble enough to admit that they deserved to lose against us.as a manutd fan pointed out to me yesterday in his own words "well done to everton.you deserved it more, we are getting more clueless when attacking and squad is simply not good enough.but then again a lot of our fans will say different and still dream of the fergie years instead of staring at the bleak looking future".

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh, wow, that's a an absolute belter from you chris, 'have adult banter'. When you're 'lol'ing like a teenage girl, it's just not going to materialise. You just can't seem to grasp simple concepts. Face the inevitable truth, you're on the slide, with Moyes in charge it's irreversible unless the miser throws money at it, though he did pay £9 for a drink at the Lowry, so I'm told, so maybe the times they are a changin'.
I digress, adult debate with a child just isn't possible.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol omg lads I threw the bait out there and u ran with it like a kipper!

I must point out it was a only wind up the 'you were lucky' comment, it was for my own silly entertainment to see who would bite :) read my other posts I fully acknowledge how bad we have been this season, as I said you caught us at the right time and fully deserved the win, and now u deserve all the praise you are getting for that.

childish I know, but it did amuse me to see who would bite :)

I thought you played very well and was surprised with the energy and discipline u showed.

Right now u are playing very nice football and u must all be very excited with your progress, time will tell how good u really are but for now the wave of optimism u are riding must feel very nice :)

P.s, Ed I tell u wot mate that pie was something else :) but I really dnt think I could stomach anymore for a while ;) sadly I get the sense I maybe getting a few more slices if we keep up our form.

Oh and in all honesty, what position in the league would you consider a success? Just curious.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - for us 3rd...for you..tenth.. :)

I suppose it's a good thing that all those ManUtd "supporters" have English as a second language - can you imagine having to read their posts in the original Norwegian?
KevinM

Agree0 Disagree0

Is that the bear minimum ed? Bit optimistic wouldn't u say?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - yes chris...6th or above would be more realistic, but you never know... and avoiding relegation for your lot.. :)

Oui oui
totalmente concuerdo a kevin :)

Englisch ist leicht zu verstehen

;)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - good stuff chris..

I would agree with u Ed 6th is realistic and probably where about u may finish.

Safety from Relegation for us, oh must resist the urge to bite that lovely baited hook :) but in all honesty top 4 would do ok after the start we have had but even that will be hard with so many good teams fighting for the top places. However I will stick my neck out and say we will get that easily ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - thats bare minimum for us chris...but you are dreaming if you think you will get top 4 easily mate!, i think in all honesty you will be lucky to make 5th..

Well get baking Ed, get baking :)

So Arteta is enjoying looking into his wing mirror seeing all the competition behind him?
Well take another quick glance son, there's a beautiful blue Bugatti Veyron coming right up your.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Nice reply Chris the RED man. However, I thought we just about deserved the win. We have done a couple of times in recent years, but not had the bottle to see it through. I do worry a bit about your lot though. You used to tear teams apart with flowing football. Right now you look like a struggling team. Lots of experience, but not too many youngsters breaking through. Unless you sign a few, keep RVP and Rooney fit, there is not much creativity in the side. How about a swap. one Blue for another? That's Rooney for Baines?

We should go to arsenal and play are usual game we have players who can attack and cause problems I feel this is a game where Del Boy could start his pace could cause problems, also how good is Macarthy I was one of the few people that thought we got a bargain at 13m he is a top top player and his value will be soluble that by end of season top marks to Martinez and kenwright 27m for felleni and replace with a natural cm in Macarthy for half the price perfect alongside Barry and also would fit in with Gibson, just need to keep baines but saying that would he want to go tk utd while it's going to take a couple of seasons to rebuild especially when he is 29 I'm not so sure

I too would advise a sense of caution regarding Sunday's match with AFC. Despite three great performances in the last couple of weeks I'm a bit worried that current expectations might be a little too high. Yes we should have beaten the RS and Stoke were crap - the score should have been more than four. Man disUnited were there for the taking and we more than held our own in their own back yard, but Arsenal have proved themselves to have been the team of the season so far. I don't want to sound pessimistic after the way that RM has galvanised us this season but can we really beat the Arse in London? IMO a draw would be a great result.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Whatever the outcome it will be a great game between two great sides. A game worth watching for any neutral fan.
We are enjoying our league position, but I'm really pleased for you, you're playing great football and have a great manager in Martinez. Have a great season and good luck.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - cheers MKD, its high time we put them mancs back where they belong!...between us we could make manchester a trophy free zone..

Yeah mate I wouldn't complain at all. Just imagine if they went 8 or 10 years without trophy?
Half of them will start supporting other teams.
They have been spitting on other fans for far too long, and they still wonder why everybody hates them.

And I see your agent Moyes is doing marvelous job.
He said he has the backing of the fans.
YEah from all the Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Everton fans.

Arsenal are a great side, wenger deserves huge credit for showing such loyalty to his players. They are showing they are worthy of it. Defense is the big difference, i'd normally feel confident we could get at Arsenal back 4 but they have been solid this season. Will be a really tough game for us, would take a draw for sure but hope we give it a dam good go. But respect to Arsenal, the only team who we play in this league who I genuinely like to watch. Their midfield
is a credit.
