Don't believe for one minute you meant to upset anyone one but the career threating injury the kid in question had was hardly his fault!

I agree he had a bad time with knee injurys that was not properly sorted and led to a few operations but even before that he was shite never a premier league player let's not forget he did play on tell 2010 we had him 2002-2003 so while injurys kept him out if he was any good he would of been signed as we had an agreement to sign him for 3m.

If anyone is wondering who Rodrigo Juliano
is Google 5 worst Everton signings I have the unfortunate memory of being at a game where he came on he reminded me of one of them celebrity's you see in soccer aid that was on the books with some prem side but is shite but he donsnt know it but we all see it.

Around Christmas- begging of Feb (pre investment) this site was full of negativity most of witch I agreed with. So fast forward to now got investment, got nice chunk of TVs deal, got a better manager and looks like at the very least the press now sees us as a team worthy of linking us with big names (bigger then we have ever been) so why are some of us on here still finding a problem. I think some of you have Stockholm syndrome we are no longer a poor captive of this league stop with this why haven't we done this or why no one signed my god remember the days when you would pick up the paper and read we was singing Rodrigo Juliano remember him not many will so now we are being link with better players and yes that at the minute is all it is linked with let's not hit the panic button just yet.

Is it true that RK has took the full shout over the under 21s.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I am not sure what that means. The structure at most clubs sees the first team coach concentrate on the first team and if an overseer is needed then a Sporting Director or Director of Football is employed. If I understand your post. Clubs would not want any distraction from the first team for the person responsible.}

06 Jul 2016 22:23:28
I been hearing that koeman has taken control of overseeing the 21s. Obviously unsy is still invoved but not got the say that he has in the past.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jul 2016 02:43:43
I think that you are confused about the present situation Johnny verses what will happen in the future. Koeman wanted the first team squad and the Under 21's to return to training at Finch Farms together. Presumably this was so that he could get to know the players and assess first-hand their strengths and weaknesses. Koeman and his team, with Unsworth's input, will presumably then choose who (if any) of the youngsters is ready to be included in the first team squad and Koeman will then focus on that squad. Unsey will take the remaining under 21 players and continue his excellent work of managing them just as he has in the past.

So witsel going to chelsea. So much for moshiris millions. Nothing has changed whatsoever. Still takes a lifetime to do any deals. Seems to me kenwright still in charge of transfers and moshiri apparently supplying the money. Not seen it yet. A 33 year old keeper whoopee door.

I'm sorry that we as a club have been through so many mediocre times but my god it's the 6th July not deadline day. So we not signed a big star yet and as per the papers are linking every player with every team so today he's not coming to us tomorrow he will be on the board of directors the press are everything we love and hate all in one they try to sell your best players like they did with stones or in the other hand they link you with every player to ever play football. That being said many If not all of us will put the tv on or pick up a paper to read what they are writing. So please Everton fans let our club get on with things and let's not start with the boards rubbish/ sack the manager stuff just yet.

If you believe 10% of what you read that's plenty. I read that Witsel is to replace Matic if he goes to Chelsea!

Please inform me if I'm insane but Witsel is no upgrade on Matic. Matic is one of the best in his position in the premiership imho. I know Chelsea didn't do good last season but Matic is top draw.

I'm not knocking Witsel. If he comes to Everton great but the report I read about Chelsea replacing Matic with Witsel is complete nonsense imho. Shows the complete make up stories they come up with.

I just scrolled back through old posts as I am on holiday relying on wifi. I see my comment about Champions League sides getting first choice of signings, then Europa League qualifiers etc was disagreed by some posters. One comment was that it is all about money. I disagree. I would agree that if a Champions League team offered 20k a week less than us, then a player would more than likely end up with us. I take that point on board. However, what is more likely to happen in this modern age is a player's agent will tout his player to both clubs and get the best deal. He will tell the other club the deal that he arranged with the first club in order to get two almost identical deals. Then it is up to the player. and that's when the player chooses the Champions League qualifier. All footballers start their careers hoping to win trophies. I do not believe players sign "just for money. " That was the point I was trying to make. We ended up 11th. so Spurs and the other Europe playing clubs will appear more attractive tomost players. Yes if we offer silly money over and above what they can afford, then we might find some players signing for us. I would suggest that these are the wrong players. I want players who are hungry for success and money is just a part of their desires.

"I would agree that if a Champions League team offered 20k a week less than us, then a player would more than likely end up with us. "

This comment is right. If a team offers more money in wages then the player will go to that team.

Agents are not looking for trophies for their player, they are looking to make them secure financially and if the club he may want to go to doesn't offer enough he won't go on the advice of his agent.

Lukaku is likely to sign a new deal and this is all to do with money. The older a player is I suppose money doesn't tend to be much of an issue but if an agent isn't saying "hey, you might get injured next week and have no career so sign for the most money" then he isn't really doing his job properly.

Sorry Degs disagree, its all about money, simple as that.

Agree2 Disagree0

06 Jul 2016 18:18:11
Money may be an issue to convince the players but I believe the possibility to be part of a project that matches their ambition. Do you think we are going to throw this money about without expecting to be a success? I do believe if we still had the same management team in place then players would move on. Yes we finished 11th but that will not be the selling point in any talks, the selling point will be being part of the awakening of sleeping giant. Being competitive in what will be a very competitive league next season. Not just with us but with other clubs too. Next season United will expect to compete, Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, Liverpool, City and dare I say it Leicester who IMO won't be able to cope with playing in Europe and the league. That's 7 teams who will be expecting to compete for the 4 champions league places and even the title. Are we happy to say let's get 8th behind these teams? No we will be telling the players we are going to compete with these sides for the top honours in the country. Am I saying we should be title challengers? Not yet but with the right additions why not.

06 Jul 2016 20:43:33
I will use Falcao as an example of how money can get any player.

I could mention a thousand more. When you talk about a ptoject, god knows why people say this word, then I could count it on one finger.

06 Jul 2016 20:56:38
So when Chelsea (a mid place team at best) had Abramovich come and throw all his money at them, the players they bought came to them because they wanted to play for Chelsea? Money, money, money.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Chelsea were in the Champions League when he arrived.}

06 Jul 2016 21:37:01
Thing is we as a club have got money but on the other hand we had a terrible Season so it is up to or board and manager to make players stay and join. Having money will always help that's a given some players are willing to play for any team that gives him £££££ other side of it is there are a few players that money ain't the be all end all (it still helps) they and again only a few of them want to be part of something new and exciting the trouble is that they only examples there is are ones where player are given massive contracts BECAUSE that's HOW YOU START SOMETHIN NEW AND EXCITING. Some succeed (early Chelsea, man city and Psg) some don't (Blackburn and just for a laugh Liverpool) last one had do be done. We have to be in the first 3 bracket spend money but don't be reckless I didn't mention Manchester United because think they could end up in both brackets.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jul 2016 11:04:22
Nah. Ed002 makes a valid point re Chelsea. and the Falcao example is an individual example. Icouldnot list thousands who were only in it for the money. All the professional footballers that I have ever spoken to wanted success. They wanted trophies and would play football even if it was not their career!

I know this isn't any kind of rumour but interested in your thoughts!
I've always been an admirer of young McAleny. An awesome eye for goal, movement, speed and agility! He has been u lucky with injuries in the past. He seemed to be pretty much injury free last season on his loan.
What are your thoughts on him and will he ever make it into out blue shirts regularly?

i think he will be likely to leave in this window. shame as i think he actaully amanaged a goal or two in our pre-season last year (one against leeds and the other motherwell it hink? )

hes got to be 23-24 now and when we compare him to the likes of Geri, Lukaku, Stones and even others like besic and McCarthy i just don't feel as though he is closee to our first team. mayeb RK can spark something in him though.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He's 29 Bonucci and with Kompanys injury record last season and the fact he is the only decent centre half they have I reckon they would want both.

Reading a lot of money doesn't matter now. Pay over the odds for players we can afford to now. Although financially we don't compare to where we were last season, we can't compete with the likes of City or Chelsea.
If you buy 2 players for silly money the third on your wish list could become out of reach.
Not forgetting, we don't want to be seen as mugs. Something I'm sure Mr Moshiri won't allow. We may have to pay over the odds initially, to be seen as a club on the move . City did it with Robhino ( excuse spelling) but that led to other players seeing City as a viable option who late followed.
We might over spend at first as we may have to, but I'm sure it won't always be that way under Mr Moshiri .

I agree Garyo. It is vital we get that first big signing under our belts, Once we do I think the rest will follow. It's only been a few days but it seems to be taking forever to do. Hopefully we will hear some positive things over the next 2 days instead of all the press rumors.

Oviedo and Joel have taken to twitter after the first training session with RK. Both with comments expressing exxcitment for the new season.

unsure of how the training is handled but i imagine the U-21 will train with Unsworth and the first team with RK.

it would be worth noting that Galloway, Davies, Dowell, Pennington and anothwe who i can't make out, are training with the first team. these can be seen on Joels upload
goo.gl/JnvChT

Ovied's shows what looks like it could be Walsh but on a closer look seems to be rodrigues.
goo.gl/fWjTvl

if the training is seperate then it looks like these youngsters are in with a good chance of featuring pre-season etc (like a few of our youngsters hopefully)

I'm a bit worried over the whole lukaku situation. On one hand what does it tell the rest of the squad if we sell our top scorer. On the other hand what does it tell the rest of the squad when our top goes on internation duty and spends his time disrespecting and be littling the club then comes back to a huge pay rise and a pat on the back. I just hope rk gets a grip of him and brings him back down to planet earth.

Just wait and see what shirt a player is paraded in not what rags put to sell. a lot of you reasons to believe them and if stones wants to go like they also say to city let him ask lescott what happens there 👍.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

06 Jul 2016 08:12:24
Baldy, lescott won trophies and over doubled his wage there for five years was it? I'd say he done alright even if he did end up a bench warmer.

Agree3 Disagree1

06 Jul 2016 10:02:53
A bench warmer and how much did City get for him after giving £25m? Lescott was by no means a success at City. Kompany is the only CB that has been a success at City since the take over.

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Jul 2016 10:28:30
Didnt they win the league with Lescott and Kompany together? One on his own is not a good way of playing. One crap one does not win a league. It takes 2 playing well.

Agree0 Disagree1

06 Jul 2016 10:48:10
NBTB I never said he was a success, but he did taste success and had some decent form, was just not the first choice or manager who took over favourite, he won medals and he was on a good wage. They never got anything back from there 25 mil cause he sat out his very good contract that he wouldn't have got at another club and I don't see what city paid has got to do with what he done there mate.

OP said look at lescott, he won trophies and doubled his wage, so if he is a example then I think that appeals more than not winning trophies and being on half the wage.

I'm not supporting him as the way he done it stunk, but he is not a good example to use to say don't move to city really is he?

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jul 2016 19:19:58
Where is Lescott now Degsy? With a relegated team? Putting pictures of his expensive car on the net after getting beaten in a game while it looked like they were well on the way to getting relegated. Championship football for him next season. Kompany on the other hand still with City.

Incidentally, Lescott was playing for England while with Everton. How many times did he play for England while with City? He was a master flop. No two ways about it. He has a league medal. Doesn't necessarily mean he played well.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jul 2016 19:28:30
Yes he is BeStryne. They never got anything back from the £25m. That's why its a good example.

If he was a success and was a good player with them that done well answer me this. Why did they allow him to run out the contract? Why didn't they offer him a contract to keep him if he played that well for them?

They were only too happy to let him go. £25m and wages gone. What happened subsequently? Villa signed him! That was a success! He was that sought after when he done so well with City that Villa were the only club willing to take him on.

How did that go? He conducted himself in a disrespectful manner at Villa which I've mentioned above to Degsy. He didn't care Villa went down. Absolute disgrace.

I disagree with the majority of flack players get from media or fans. But Lescott deserved some for last season. On and off the pitch.
