Just been reading the stories on Lukaku, and I'm genuinely shocked. I honestly believed he would have at least one more season. What with being in Europe and the start of a fresh season with new quality players soon to be in.
I think Moshiri has done a pretty darn good job with the time spent so far. Completely new management. No debt, new stadium on the horizon. I'm slightly disappointed in him really for not looking at the bigger picture. Everyone knows we've turned a corner and have a great future ahead and I for one sure am excited. Just proves in actual fact he was one our stepping stones. With a 100 million for his service or very close to it. So turns out a great bit of business.

The future is bright the future's Everton's blue.

Am i one of the few not concerned at all about incoming/ outgoing trfs in the upcoming window? .
I have full faith in rk sw and fm to deliver what they have been promising and that's a stronger squad.
So i for one shall reserve any judgement until the window closes.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

{Ed025's Note - i have faith in them as well anom, but you cant stop people being sceptical because some of our dealings in the past have dragged on a bit mate..

06 Jun 2017 19:31:21
they will have a list of players they want but as we can't actually sign anyone til July 2nd we have plenty of time to make sure they deserve to play for us.

True ed but there's being sceptical and being irrational. Window hasn't even opened yet, and some are getting a little upset already.

Re recent buys I know it is easy to point the finger but whoever was responsible for the purchase of Naisse should be shot 13.5 M and £50,000 a week even Hull don't want him!
Mcgeady not far behind, let's be honest if
we were to make similar manager t decisions we be fired .
Was it Bill and Rob by any chance .
Someone shot down this morning for being critical of them . Bill been a brill EFC man but perhaps transfers not his forte but surely someone else scouted him
Love to know who it was and hope they not still doing it!

Niasse was bought by Martinez on the recommendation of his Chief Scout Kevin Reeves.

I hope rom is a bench warmer like lescott, l love it every time stones makes a mistake, I enjoy watching gosling move to a smaller club. if Ross has not got balls to stay and fight for us the same go's for him. players like Naismith get my respect and best wishes. I'm not bitter, I'm just being honest. good luck to my fellow blues for next season.

I'm sick and tired of lukaku, yeah he scores goals but he has no class.
What a complete tool, he has a contract with us yet bangs his gums all the time showing no respect.
Well Rom, you was dire in all the big games, lazy and lost.
He will suit chelsea as they have no class either, horrible club and both welcome to each other.
Rant over!

Give the boy abit of credit he netted most of your goals this year he's still young and yes got a lot to learn about keeping his mouth shut but the boy will be great. If he does sign for us I will be more than happy to have him and deep down you would be the same if he stayed.

Agree1 Disagree3

{Ed025's Note - hes been good for us nibby and done a great job, he wants out now so i have no loyalty to him at all, if he succeeds or falls flat on his face i dont give a jot mate..

He can take Barclay with him.

So it looks like Rom has almost certainly gone. I for one think he has been excellent for us and we have been excellent for him and I don't bare any grudge against him. Time to move on to our next CF.

Eddy posted a great list of possible strikers to replace him a really days ago. So who do people want as our new CF?

Personally I'd be delighted with 2 of
Batshayui
Iheanacho
Rashford loan
Rooney
Giroud
Dembele (Celtic - but I think unrealistic)

I also like the look of Patrick Roberts as a left footed winger that we need.

What are other thoughts?

Believable4 Unbelievable0

06 Jun 2017 17:13:14
Batshayui and ihenacho I'd like but West Ham look favourites for inenacho! They seem keen on this William Jose fella never seen him play or even heard of him before ed002 told us. I would also try to get Nathan ake our zouma from. Chelsea I just hope we get the replacements in on the 1st of July to get decent time together before the europa and so we've got a striker in to play.

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Jun 2017 17:18:19
I'm with you ST hold no grudge just get frustrated with the situation an the way that agent goes bout his ways.

Giroud for me would be a quality signing, maybe unrealistic though. I personally don't think we will end up with any of the above. Can't see rashford on loan happening. Ihenacho I can't see RK agreeing to a buy back option. Batsuayi could be a shot an he looked good when he played worth a risk I think. I'm not even sure the type of striker we need.

I would take Vardy for a season or 2. doesn't look like he's lost a yard an stays injury free. Good stop gap for me.

Everton the gear.

Until Mr Moshiri starts to put some cash into the squad I refuse to get excited . Only really spent John Stones profit in 2 windows . All the stadium talk reminds me of the bad old days . When question are asked bring up the new stadium as a distraction . I know the window isn't open yet but I was very disappointed in our business in the previous windows under Moshiri. Hope my concerns are put to a end this summer .

We had probably the best Jan transfer window of any prem club. What are you expecting? We can't offer the money or the chance of trophies that the six clubs above us can and it will be years before we can. Patience!

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Jun 2017 21:14:00
Are you for real lad, moshiri gave us an 80 million pound interest free loan to pay of all our debts. Has managed to pay new players fees an higher wages. ANd as you mentioned is helping finance a brand new stadium on the waterfront, without even being in full control of the club. Get a grip of yourself will ya.

Agree4 Disagree0

06 Jun 2017 23:13:49
Have to agree with you Gary, not seen any real spending yet, all I see is us trying to get players on the cheap and not going for the better players hope I am wrong.

06 Jun 2017 15:53:23
Ed whatever money we get for lukaku are we going to be able to sign anyone with the amount of goals he scores? It reminds me abit of when the reds lost Suarez they have never replaced his goals. Although they now have midfielders/ attackers that score goals. We have neither now lukaku has basically gone. I'm about worried about the qualifier to be honest have a bad feeling.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - signing the right player might bring more players into the goals, rather than relying on just Lukaku. Case in point, you won the league with less goals from Andy Gray but lost it with more from Gary Lineker. It is a team game, you need eleven players playing together to win.}

06 Jun 2017 17:12:40
Lukaku does not run the channels or create any room for other players and that is why our midfield have not scored half the goals of teams like spuds. As has been pointed out on several occasions, Lukaku does not often open the scoring and we only in theory won 10 points because of him Bring in a couple of young strikers who will run for the team back and forward and bring others into the game!

horrible watching so many heads falling off about transfers not even official transfer window season anyway, chill out the club will have targets and are in an uncomfortable position of having a 6ft toddler running round the press screaming about his next move, calm heads people.

I don't blame him for leaving were not at a level the other clubs are on and its not like were signing top players we need to show ambition and sign some top players were ment to have all this money.

Hi Everton fans, I'm a passionate Celtic fan but have always had a soft spot for the Toffees. My brother in laws dad's family are from Liverpool and I've been over a few times over the years to Goodison. Favourite memory has to be the 1-0 victory over Man Utd in 1995.

Be gutted when Lukaku leaves. Best striker I've seen in an Everton shirt, grew up on the likes of Bent, Beattie and Johnson being our man up top. Glad we got 4 seasons out of him.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

06 Jun 2017 13:54:50
Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I won't be gutted. I'll be delighted to see him gone. Best thing for me about his 4 seasons is the profit the club will make when eventually jogs on.

Think he'll be a big miss but at least if he goes early the saga doesn't drag on over the summer and leave or recruitment in a bind.

I was totally gutted when Ball and Kendall left. Not so with Lukaku. We've improved him and enjoyed his goals. Don't see him as an Everton legend though.
The club gets top dollar and we move on and try to swerve his agent in future.

I can't believe we still get anti KenWright posts . Memories seem to be very short . His only negative is he isn't a billionaire. Remember the Peter Johnson days . Bought the club for next to nothing, then got most of his money back selling Big Duncan. Kenwrights early days were painful, but without money he installed stability to our club . Look at Leeds . Happy to see a player who sees everton as a stepping stone at another club. we will get good money for lukaku.
But while clubs like city spend top dollar it's worth remembering that all players start off with little value and then rise incredibly quickly after just a few good shows. The key to everton's rise to higher things will hopefully be through the trawling of Walsh and co to spot the next big stars who by taking us on will then want to stay out of love for the club. griezeman clearly has a love for Atletico who have built slowly while selling top attackers to liverpool, Monaco and chelsea and are now close to the top of the European pile and attractive to good players.
Oscar.

It will be interesting to see how quickly the club makes a statement on the future of Rom now he has let the cat out of the bag by telling us he knows exactly what his future holds allegedly)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

06 Jun 2017 11:35:27
Funny how he knows exactly were he will be playing next season yet unless it is at Everton he can't be so certain as any club wishing to buy him has to do just that and pay the asking price. He doesn't decide until that price is agreed.
