Re barkley he is off no matter who we get, an good bye and shut the door on your way out thanks,
Now back to what really matters,
we need a very, very good manager to sort this mess out, we have young tallented players playing in droves without the guidence of senior players, when we should be giving them twenty thirty mins to get to know how it works and picking up tips from the senior players,
But at the moment its like the other way round, with this squad we have, we need a very special one, because even the special one would have no chance with our current set up,
too many chnges at once will never work, i know i'm stating the obvious but it can't be that obvious or it would not have happened, so let's get our best team playing together week in week out so they can bond and watch out for each other and play as a team
and that will take about 6 weeks for any manager to find his best team
So as it is we can stabilise what we have with rhino and see how it goes till jan, or start all over again trying to find the right set up with a new manager, my heads up me jacksie to be honnest, but fingers crossed we get a lucky break for once.

Re Ross leaving I would rather loose the money than let Spurs have him for £15 M .
They and especially their chairman are despicable and they are basically bragging they going to get him at a snip
Well snip off Spurs!
Surely a new manager can get his hunger back for his boyhood club .
We moaned about Ross but how God we could do with him now.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - we could certainly do with someone with ross,s ability trebor but if his heart is not in it then whats the point, we have enough players who,s commitment is at best questionable mate..

06 Nov 2017 21:51:05
Didn't want Martinez or Koeman but I'm really struggling with the thought of Allardyce. We may be rubbish on the pitch and the media may be on our backs over the Panorama thing but I've always been proud of the club. This is different. Martinez was genuine but deluded; Koeman was baselessly arrogant, but Allardyce is thoroughly obnoxious. Don't like this one bit.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

{Ed025's Note - im taking the 5th..

07 Nov 2017 04:58:31
I'll support ANY manager who comes in but Allardyce would be a really bad statement by the club, not just because of his baggage but because of his style of play. I would prefer Dyche out of the two by a long shot, we know exactly what we would get from Sam. Dyche might turn out to be a cracking manager and I would rather risk it with him. Don't get me wrong would much rather have Ancelotti, Silva, Tuchel or Hiddink but out of the 2 would be Dyche all day. Think the fact that so many fans (including me) are against appointing Allardyce that it would cause a split and negativity before he takes charge of his first game.

07 Nov 2017 06:16:06
If it is just a short-term contract for this season until they can get their real target, then I can understand it. Otherwise, it seems like terrible judgement. Let's hope it's the former.

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Nov 2017 20:42:26
Really don't want big Sam think he will just destroy us . alway up to no good and we will be linked with more dodgy dealings.

06 Nov 2017 20:26:02
Barkley will 100% leave now if Allardyce comes in wouldn’t pick him for England and he also said rooneya gets o. The pitch and plays where he wants to when he was England manager.

Believable0 Unbelievable5

06 Nov 2017 20:39:23
So you now think Barkley will leave Everton because he was not picked for one game. And there was me thinking it was for other reasons, thanks for the enlightenment.

Agree2 Disagree0

06 Nov 2017 20:40:28
not sure on that eddy sam was only in charge for one game wernt he and barkleys form wasnt worthy of a call up was it, koeman slated barkley and wanted him out and did since he joined in my opinion, barkley needs to knuckle down and work hard and prove to whoever comes in as manager what he can do, if he loves everton that's what he would do.

Agree3 Disagree0

06 Nov 2017 21:14:27
love it Grumpy mate.

Agree2 Disagree1

06 Nov 2017 21:34:00
No because a manager coming in who doesn’t rate he openly said he needs to do more on the pitch why would you risk signing a new contract to sit in the bench when he can get out get a big signing on fee and probably play champions league.

Agree1 Disagree1

06 Nov 2017 21:43:31
Cheers GB mate.

Agree0 Disagree1

06 Nov 2017 21:50:43
To be fair Eddy even if he does stay he won't get picked by Sam as he is a creative player and can't head the ball. It's difficult to play to Barkley strengths when the ball is 50 feet in the air!

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed025's Note - love it john..

06 Nov 2017 22:25:37
Correct January jay jay ocokcha Kevin Nolan Kevin Davies Andy Carroll and jussi jassklienin get ready to pull the blue shirt on and give Big Sam 50% of your wages.

Agree2 Disagree2

06 Nov 2017 19:47:14
big sam better option than dyche at the moment guys, he's been there and done it we needhim in, if only temporary, job to big for dyche they havin ok season upto now doesn't mean he good enough for us, the pressure at everton a lot bigger than burnley and in my opinion he will struggle, like moyes at united out of his depth, he good on a budget at a club with not much pressure on you, exactly what koeman is had money at us and struggled so get sam in till end season he will get us back to basics then look round leave dyche were he is, in january sell mirralas schneiderlin sandro klaasan and get some decent players in, attacker and centre half a must, bring barkley an bolasie an coleman back in then we be fine.

Believable3 Unbelievable7

06 Nov 2017 20:11:16
Agreed. I only know Big Sam by what I read, but the "been there done that" is what we need. And yes there are players who may not be to par with the team's needs, but if most of them were not being used appropriately by RK, then who knows.

Sandro may need six months in the U23's. Same with Vlasic. They may need a six month loan to the Championship or League One.

Gylfi - we paid for a number 10, so put him there. Coleman and Bolasie and perhaps Barkley will be like new signings. An old hand like Big Sam may be the one to put the puzzle pieces to where they should have been on Day 1.

This year, with no effective true striker, I might rather trust the a manager with a solid floor (no relegation) than a manager we dream may have unlimited potential (Martinez, RK, Dyche, . )

This will not be a top five year. But it could set us up for a great 2018-19 (not having Thursday nights in Eastern Europe with EL) .

And a thousand apologies to Niasse. I'll bet he's a pro on the practice pitch too.

Agree4 Disagree3

06 Nov 2017 20:25:21
excellent post mate and agree with lot players played out of postion, sometimes players can't do it here an i think klaasan an sandro are 2 of them mate.

Agree0 Disagree2

07 Nov 2017 00:23:37
Big Sam may save us from relegation but that's it. He's mid table boss at best. If he comes I hope it's a stop gap until we get better. I'd plump for Silva but he may not leave Watford after just joining, but after seasons over who knows.

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Nov 2017 19:28:51
Looks like Big Sam will come in till the end of the season, and then we will go for for a European coach me thinks,

06 Nov 2017 19:23:11
Geoffjohns raises the point about the players drifting to the right when the keeper is in possesion. This is specific to Unsworth because his U23's side do exactly the same.
Looks more like primary school kids who all follow the the ball - ridiculous tactic.
Incidentally why has Pickford now suddenly decided he needs to rush off his line.
He cost us one goal and it could well have been three, with the Watford guy missing the chance after rounding him on the edge of the area and Cleverley missing from the spot. The time he should have come was for the corner that resulted in WFC's second.
Still don't understand starting selection as the subs, especially DCL and Lookman, should have been on from the start.
Happy with 3 points though.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - totally agree about pickford fancy, far too rash at times mate..

06 Nov 2017 19:51:03
pickford still learning ed, and probably trying to take things on himself after all the defensive mistakes we have made this season feel sorry for him the way we have defended.

Agree3 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i agree that he is still learning djr and thats why im cutting him some slack mate..

06 Nov 2017 20:05:25
yer i know mate williams jags keane not done anything to help him, ed do you think schneiderlin will go in jan, i hope so mate think he's crap sideways all the time, think young beni better than him, an another question, might sound bit mad, but do you think other people have say in sqaud for matchday, for example lyon game, martina left back no striker, then watford game no wingers again one striker it just doesn't make sense, its like koeman still pickin team, does walsh have say in things? really has me thinking mate we are kept in dark know one knows what's going on.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i cant see walsh having any input into squad selection djr, morgan has been terrible this season and there is talk of him having some personal problems but thats not helping us of course mate..

06 Nov 2017 20:21:11
cheers ed it is very puzzling our club though haha, must still be koeman picking team then looked like his starting 11,next game must have wingers and 2 strikers if we don't i will not be happy, i was screaming for them subs to come out for 2nd half i knew a watford goal was coming, lookman sets up first, dvl scores 2nd an lennon wins pen, they all deserve a start 442 is a must.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Nov 2017 20:26:03
Some people have been saying a Schneiderlin has been awful since we signed him but I thought he looked fantastic when he first joined, so makes sense if he's got something else affecting him. Either way he needs dropping until he gets his head back together but wouldn't sell him just yet.

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Nov 2017 16:36:41
Sorry guys pressed the wrong button (been a long weekend) I meant to say not convinced that Unsworth is the right man to sort this lot out. We were lucky yesterday, and at best could have ended up with a draw. Think it is plain to see that the defence is all at sea, and we go for the safe option of trying to stifle the midfield, and sacrifice width.
We need a manager who can sort out the defence and use the pace we have on the bench on the pitch.
And sorry but if reports about Kevin and Morgan are true, then they should be kicked out in January. We really don't need any passengers right now.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

{Ed025's Note - your right there mate..

06 Nov 2017 16:52:46
I’ll take luck any day right now, made no difference how we won we need confidence right now and that should give them loads, let’s hope we can stop the rot with a win at palace shame it’s international break.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - thats just our luck at the moment metz..

06 Nov 2017 17:09:11
Agree with what you said below ed. I was at the game and Davies had a mare. Missed one pass for Kenny who was 10 yards away and he put it over his head for a throw.
Kenny showed great passion and for me was motm. Baines has gone but finally whipped in a decent corner for the goal, jags has gone, Rooney was awful. Siggy not a left winger.
Made up for niasse put a proper shift in. Needs to start every game til January (and scored with his hip haha) Beni did Ok, dcl changed the game for me. Won every header when he came on (also helped that he replaced rooney) . Thought lookman and Lennon where better because they run at defenders. Ok they make mistakes but that's what we need.
One thing that does confuse me is when pickford kicks it everyone goes to the right wing and it's so congested. There's so much space on the left for someone to stand in and he could surprise people and find them. Also when defending corners or free kicks we bring everyone back so we got no out ball. Should leave 1 or 2 or 3 up to worry defences and give us more space in our box to clear.

Agree1 Disagree1

06 Nov 2017 18:51:15
Spot on Geoffjohno, saw the game like me. I just don't get paying 45 mill for a No:10 playmaker and put him out wide. Also to get the best out of Rooney, stop pretending he is still a striker, he just doesn't have the legs. In order to have him in the Team even Unsy has now noted (I hope) then compromises have to be made with other players (Siggy) . We need the likes of Lookman, et al to run at defenders which in turn opens up space. We were much better when he came on. Let's see who the Club get/ take on as Manager, need someone that will not take any crap.

06 Nov 2017 19:19:31

06 Nov 2017 16:30:16
Well back home with a sore head and a lighter wallet. Have had time to reflect on what I saw yesterday, and despite the win I am not convinced Unswor.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i thought the quality was poor woburn but the fighting spirit was excellent, some very worrying performances though especially in defence where the back 4 and keeper were woeful, also wayne, siggy and tom were anonymous especially rooney who as i have complained about before disrupts the whole team dynamic when he plays, we got out of jail to a certain degree with clevs penalty miss but i must say i am eating a bit of humble pie regarding niasse who ran himself into the ground, not the best skill wise but really put in a shift and hassled their defence and his goal was well deserved, lets hope we can build on this very important win and start to climb our way to safety sooner than later..

06 Nov 2017 18:55:29
As you say Ed and if I may say so as I have also noted about Rooney, he actually hinders the Team. He has been a wonderful player but the time has come for him and others to accept that playing him is a luxury we cannot afford.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - impact sub for me dunc at best..

06 Nov 2017 16:19:34
we simply cannot start games without wingers. the lessons of the past few games have been glaringly obvious. our midfielders are not quick enough to do damage. lookman, vlasic and lennon give some options which we have underused, sending them on when things have gone against us as the starting line ups have suggested before a ball is kicked. morrisey, connolly, thomas, kanchelskis, steven. we have a tradition at Goodison of wingers making a difference. may that continue. please whoever manages the next match. WINGERS!

Usmanov and Moshiri have done nothing wrong, the only thing in this is Usmanov has a back up plan if he sells up, its clever of him, and he probably sensed things could get difficult at Arsenal over next 12 months, timing on everything here marks towards a full takeover of Everton within next 12-24 months based on the time line of events

MOSHIRI sells Arsenal shares to Usmanov

MOSHIRI buys 49% in Everton making him majority shareholder

Stadium site identified

Usm sponsorship for Training ground

Usmanov makes offer to buy out Arsenal rejected

Kronke rumours of bidding for Usmanov shares

Does anyone know who the chap is who sits in main stand 2 next to the steps about half way down with a notepad and pen and an ipad?
He's there every game making notes throughout the game then stays behind after the final whistle, with who I presume is his wife, typing furiously into his ipad.
Do any of the local papers use freelance journalists at all?

Any reason why Vlasic wasn't on the team sheet yesterday. Btw. Sig, Rooney, Schnids and Williams should not start any games.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

06 Nov 2017 14:01:52
You can include Schneiderlin and Mirallas in that list if what's been reported about their training ground antics is true. Just what is going on behind the scenes at the club. The last thing we need now are prima donnas.

Agree3 Disagree0

06 Nov 2017 14:38:07
I second that leinster. If what has been reported is true I'm suprised Duncan kept so calm with them. No one's bigger than the club, if they don't like it here then move them on.

Agree2 Disagree0

06 Nov 2017 10:11:14
Does anyone know why big Dunc didn’t get asked to be the interim manager as he’s coaching the senior squad and would be the natural choice?
Maybe swap them around and have Duncan u23 manager and Unsy as no2 to the new manager.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

06 Nov 2017 17:34:03
Maybe he just didn't want it Robbie? I've worked with quite a few people who are very good at what they do and would make a good boss but are happy to play a support role rather than a lead role.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Nov 2017 09:13:39
We are out of the relegation zone, now we have the International break and realistically one win does not a recovery make. It makes the Manager decision even more important. For me Allardyce should not be the automatic choice that the media seem to be pushing. Of the muted choices I would much rather have Dyche and with that I really do think that Mr Walsh should be moved back into the Scout role.

Believable2 Unbelievable3

06 Nov 2017 09:05:20
what a second half that was, all brought about by the substitutions, the pace and skill of Lookman and Lennon made all the difference, Lookman needs to be starting games more regular, only with Tom not up to it yesterday, i thought the young lads have been showing up the older more experienced ones the last few games. Interesting times ahead, let's hope the right decisions are made and we get the manager we all want. ( but not dithering Dave) .

Believable1 Unbelievable2

06 Nov 2017 12:12:18
Yeah I blamed rhino's decisions for lyon so credit due for the decisions against Watford. Hope those supporters giving players stick before halftime and those who left when we went behind don't come back. Atmosphere for the most part was like joe royle days. Let's have some more.
Oh and if the BBC make an enemy of Evertonians we never forget.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Nov 2017 01:34:55
I heard one fan call radio merseyside he said he has supported Everton for 60 years and he left at 2-0 as this is the worst side he has ever seen well let's just say he got shot down when he was reminded about Mike walker and Walter Smith ha ha no matter how poor we play or how bad it is there is no excuse to leave early you support you club no matter what.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Nov 2017 05:24:46
Unsy yes his own man if true he sent Mirallas and Scheiderlin home for not trying. For me though, he (Unsy) is doing a sterling job bringing through the Academy and should be returned there. Walsh back to being a Scout, Royle or preferably Hoddle appointed DoF, Dyche or Fonseca appointed Manager. Things we have learned (not to say that the final look yesterday showed we are getting there) , Rooney and Siguurdson cannot be on the pitch at the same time. With Rooney on the pitch the game is actually slowed down, partly because of the man himself and partly because the other players are constantly looking for him. The passion was back 2nd half yesterday, good to be an Evertonian.

Believable5 Unbelievable1

06 Nov 2017 06:27:58
Agree with most of that bigdunc. but I would actually give DU more time. the players seem to be reacting for him. mainly second half. but I believe he could do a job. As for kev. I'm not surprised, there are times that he infuriates me. he has so much ability, but not enough effort and passion. it's not the first time his attitude has got him in trouble.

Agree4 Disagree5

06 Nov 2017 09:26:45
Would be an interesting conversation with Walsh telling him he is no longer the DoF but a scout. As with most people who get the offer of a demotion sideways move he would probably say no thanks shove your job up where the sun don't shine.
