Just noticed the post about abdullayev! We need this work permit quickly in my opinion. Natural winger who plays with both feet.. Quite a tall kid with plenty of flicks and tricks, the way he carries himself genuinely reminds me of a young ronaldo, obviously not in the same bracket. We're desperate for some creativity on the flanks..

Annoyed! Looked at what the guardian (i think) predict where everton will finish this upcoming season, they predict 8th, I think we can finish much higher (if we perform better than we did against Blackpool) and in the comments a few people say we are relaxation candidates, they obviously don't watch football, if they did, they certainly wouldn't think that, or watched the 4-4 at Old Trafford (what pundits called the best game of the season) they must not know the players in our team either (Baines, Pienaar, Jelavic, Heitinga, Gibson etc...) all top top players. Football fans my ar*e.................

I think 8th is a fair enough prediction. You have to remember the teams that finished above us and Liverpool have far bigger squads than ours it's not just all about the first 11, so for that reason i think it's a fair prediction. Mike

Relegation? Did I read that correctly? Relegation candidates? It's more likely that Liverpool will qualify for the Champions League!

That article is a shocker. We get a good vibe from it. It says we could make a difference this season to last, as long as we get a better start than normal. Then all all said and done we will have a batter season than last year then drop a place?!?!

Trust me if we get as good a start as we finished last season then we will be playing CL footy next season.

The reason for my confidence is that we have a strong first 11 and some great youngsters waiting for their chance to shine.

Agree mike. Lets not get ahead of ourselves. I'm almost certain we'll finish 6-8th.. It's a long season to only have 1 striker and 1 winger..

There is absoultely no chance that we will be in the top 4. Lets be realistic. 8th or 7th at the highest. {Ed025's Note - dont be so pessimistic, ..

Listen lads, it is my dream that we get another shot at the CL. As there are now more teams that stand a chance to get there it makes it more of a competition.

I am serious when I say we stand a chance. I also understand there being people who disagree. But please don't give up before the season starts.

Remember, Monday night under the floodlights is going to be a great place to be if we are pushing the team forward with our never say die attitude.

7th or 8th highest? we should definitely be aiming for top 6 this year, as long as we have a decent start and keep everyone fit there's no reason we should be aiming lower

Beginnig last seasonwe didnt have jelovic pienaar gibson naismith . cahill wasnot in form we had no goal threat reasons to be optimistic if we get to a reasonable start not many will want to play us in good form

Does anyone know what has happened to araz abdullayev? We signed him but he couldn't secure a work permit so he has been on loan for a few seasons. {Ed025's Note - still on loan mate..

We haven't signed him we don't own him we had what you call a written agreement that we get first choice on him if he was to sign and get a work permit which he hasn't he is not an everton player And he is not still on loan as all loan deals terminate in the Europe leagues on July 31st
