Yeah but enjoy the turmoil. I have had red rubbish rammed down my throat for 40 years now. So it is nice to be able to respond once in a while.

I agree fellow Degsy, I enjoy gloating on their demise, had it rammed down my throat for decades and its not as if they havnt laughed at us much.

If you don't enjoy your main rival struggling then re-tune your passion meter to Evertonfc, it may be faulty

Please everton Bk if you read this site. I'm all for one with selling felli so Bob can build, but please tell differing davie to rack off. He has put himself in a corner with Rooney and then thinks he can bully everton with desiory offers for our two best players. No thank you you've sent a letter apologising for being sneaky gits, well send another one for being cheeky gits!

I will hold my hands up. I didn't want Martinez and was gutted to see Moyes go.

HOWEVER. Utd fans are now having the same painful preseason we've had for 11yrs and I'm more excited abut next season than I have been in a very long time.

Looking forward to a new style of football and some fresh faces. COYB! IrMWT!

Looks like arsenal are ready to jump in and challenge if Manchester United make formal offer for felli. Might get some good cash from this.

In my eyes he's desperate to leave so let's get it done and dusted quickly so we can get some fresh legs settled before new season

Moyes was dishonest and man u should have more class and should be fined. Why have rules that only some must follow. Now Baines and Fellaini for 30M.

Step 1. Pay a fine
Step 2. Pay blues compensation
Step 3. Offer 45M
Step 4. Throw in Jones
Step last. FO (screw yourself)

Big Bald Blue

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Y should utd be fined, this is all about bill kenwright if utd bid for Baines just say no and keep saying no. moyes is utd manager his concerns are with them. are concerns lie with are manager and more importantly are chairman, for once bill back your words up with actions uve said Baines it not for sale tell utd to piss off.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Aug 2013 16:46:10
I think he is saying they should be fined because they approached/poached Moyes while he was still with us. same way as some players are tapped up.

A lot of people slating the potential signing of Anderson. Are these the same people who didn't think Gibbo was good enough? I must admit I didn't hold much hope for that signing but how wrong were we? I would like to see Anderson here to fullfil the potential he had in Portugal

IF Fellaini goes its a minimum 23.5m to strengthen our squad, I like Fellaini but I would'nt lose any sleep over dithering davie buying him!
I'd go for Alderwiereld cash +hietinga, Mcarthy, Marrone and Moses.

But if moyes does dither on it say ok no deal don't mess us about we are everton as he well know's. Time to take tough stance on these so call'd richer club's

Barkley looks like he's getting more confident each game although he didn't do anything special last night he shows glimpses. One thing I would like to point out is deulofeu's behaviour on the pitch which was terrible he just didn't looked interested at tracking back to help Coleman and he looks like he's got a big ego because he's barcas "prodigy", anyone else think that, tom

07 Aug 2013 21:27:01
Ok for regulars on here I got pelted for saying please, please no to RM but said I would back him as a manager of the club I love. However if Felli is sold and every single penny of that transfer is not reinvested into our playing squad then we will know he is another 'yes' man like Moyes who allowed BK to get away with accepting what to us older posters is unacceptable, underachievement with another year of nothing to show.
But if the cheque is passed straight away to RM with the 'Who d'yer want?' then fair enough.
As ed would say hmmmmm, I got a feeling yet another Ground Hog Day coming up but let's wait and see.

Agree0 Disagree0

Still only 27 and is a good player, but I think we need to strengthen other areas of the squad first.

Why are some peoe going on about being happy if Anderson come to us as part of a deal involving Fellaini to united. You have got to be joking haven't u! He is slow, bad attitude, not even an average player in my eyes, hardly played for united and just not good enough to play for us especially as a replacement for Fellaini! Come on guys there are better players than him around. We can't sell Fellaini and replace with rubbish! If he is going and again it's a IF, then we want a class player to replace him not someone that united want to palm off as part of the deal! I really hope this does not happen!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Well said mate 100pc spot on imo

Agree0 Disagree0

In all fairness, your description of Anderson sounds just like the description of Gibson when we heard moyes wanted him. Is he that bad? Would fergie have kept him at Manchester United for so long if he was? I don't know how bad/good he is, but I'll trust robie to do what best. Blue Lee

Felliani will go to utd, we all knew that. baines is a different ball game, all this nonsense about him being up 4 a move is total crap. he's really happy at everton and that comes from people close to him. the only way heil go is if he's pushed. don't sell at any price, everton have got to keep him. baines stayin is down to bill kenwright

Think the time has come for Everton and Felliani to part company the will he won't saga has dragged on for a season or so, let's get top money for him and not bow to pressure from Moyes. To be honest Felliani is class but not sure the Mancs will be happy with him as their big signing. Hope RM gets the money and invests it wisely with players who want to be at Everton. My advise, don't buy a shirt with his name on get a Tony Hibbert one instead, True Blue. Odds on Moyes out by Christmas worth a fiver maybe. Any word on Sinclair Ed?
Stanno {Ed025's Note - its gone quiet on him stanno..

I have already said this on another thread but its starting to get a bit silly now and we are all sounding rather bitter. I personally don't understand why people are annoyed that Manchester United may or may not have put in a transfer bid for one of our players during the transfer window. What is there to get upset about? If we accept a bad offer from Utd that is not Moyes or Utds fault it is ours, just like if we a reject a great offer. The power is with the player and the club he is contracted to not the bidders.
I am certain we have bid for players this window and in past windows that teams value more than what we bid at the time, does that make our club and manager disgusting disrespectful a-holes? No it means we try to get the best deal we can for our club be that buying or selling. Just like every other club. It has essentially got the point where if a team bids for a player they are now apparently disrespcting the other club. People bang on about player loyalty yet cry when their own team doesn't buy enough or big enough names etc. Essentially people don't want transfer windows they want players to be unavailable for sale until their contracts run out then we all just swap players here and there when they are out of contract. Make your minds up. If you want us to bid 7mill for a player that there fans rate at 10 mill and we get him for 8.5 mill we would all be happy and doing exactly what people are claiming and judging our previous manager of doing. Grow up I say

Svenny {Ed025's Note - fair point svenny..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I understand you point but I think most people are upset at the level of the offer from a man who knows the finer details of our player contracts and the finances of the club

In addition, Moyes slated other managers for 'derisory' offers for Baines last season and many of us see his low bids as an attempt to unsettle our two best players in an attempt to get them to hand in transfer requests

All in all, we deserve more

Just heard an interview on talks port with a pundit who seems to think Moyes will leave it late to get Fellaini and Baines and sew up his more difficult targets first ie fabregas. He said he understands Baines and Fellaini are keen on moves to united and are just waiting. Gullable as I sound I can't believe Baines wants to go, fellaini it wouldn't surprise me. I also believe everton are resigned to lose fellaini and get the cash to spend and it looks like Baines will be offered a better contract. Come on you blues let's keep Bainesy.

Talk Sport claiming UTD think they already have LB & MF in the bag and will leave until the last minute to tie those deals up, if that is the case who do they think they are, yet again that would be them taking the absolute "P" If I was BK I would be telling moyes the price is going up 1M a day for each player! Ed have your say?

Increased speculation that Moyes is turning his attention to Fellaini after losing out on Fabregas.

I feel that regardless of when his release clause runs out, we should still be pushing for atleast £23m.
Think about it. If Bale is worth £100m, I think Fellaini is easily worth £35m when comparing the players, and that's just a minimum!

After watching the game last night, I could also tell that Felli doesn't want to be playing for us no more, he looked lazy and had no drive. Plus, I really think with the money we could get for him ( keeping hold of Bainsey too) we could get 2/3 quality, young players which will complete our squad.

Maybe Alderwield, Maronne and another?

Moyes at Everon for 11 years wins nothing manages Utd for 1 game wins a trophy now do you see the difference in clubs?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Quite ironic that the ginger one will be contesting a trophy that our currant manager did the hard work by winning in the first place and knocking the ginger ones team out on the way.

If felli goes with maybe Anderson coming this way. Who else can we buy? i'd love to see alderweirled (spelling) with heitinga going the other way, i'd love to see Scott Sinclair but I can't see that, and I think wed need another midfielder eg Diame and another striker eg Ba? I don't know but the future is bright COYB

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We don't need a midfield destroyer we need a play maker Valencia showed us last night the value of having a good play maker there was not a midfield destroyer in sight in their team last night and they still dominated us.

I'm beginning to think it was Moyes who was the problem behind our transfer's and not Kenwright!

RM has come in and made 4 signings in the space of a week - I think Man U have only made 1 signing so far? Can't say its down to money because I would think man u have a pretty much unlimited war chest.

I know this is not a rumour etc but I can't help but feel it was Moyes so all the S**T Kenwright got is a bit unfair - he loves the club and now we have a new manager things could be looking better

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It would appear to be as you suggest OP and I have to admit to no small amount of satisfaction watching Man U fans having to listen to the same "We are working hard behind the scenes, " Drivel that we have put up with year in year out. It is evident that we need to buy a very good CM. There are plenty of options, with many names beng thrown around on here, such as chantome, McCarthy, Benega ect. I personally would like to see Fellaini playing in a more advanced position, as he proved last season that he was the best suited to the role. Furthermore, I would like to see two strikers on, as that would give us more options going forward. We have struggled at times to penetrate defences. Therefore, We need another striker aswell. Alderwield would be amazing also. However, Central midfield is a priority!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

07 Aug 2013 11:27:09
Moyes bidding below the release fee is insulting, and he's really starting to p*** me off with the way he's going about things at Man U, but am I the only one who wouldn't be bothered seeing Fellaini go for the full £23m, or whatever it is? He was amazing last season and worked his socks off, despite what a few fans with short memories would have you believe, but that was as an attacking mid. He won't be there again this season and if he was, it wouldn't work as we [hopefully] won't be hoofing it up to him. If he stays, he'll be a defensive mid and frankly, he's pretty rubbish at it. He is far, far too reckless in his tackling and once he's booked, he's out the game, and too casual and inaccurate with his passing. He could use his strength to bulldose through defenders last year, but you can't do that to strikers or midfielders because you just get penalised immediately. if someone comes around who can activate his clause, accept it (psychologically, not physically accept the bid, we have no say in that) and get someone else who is less of an offensive threat but far better defensively. Capoue and Medel are great options who we've already been linked with, but players like Schneiderlin would be fantastic, even if he has just signed a contract extension.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He has a handful of good games every season when he can be bothered and, at times, looks world class but his attitude and consistency are appalling. Get rid and bring in James McCarthy and Honda, we'll be a much better side if we can bring those 2 in for the vastly overrated Fellaini.

Agree0 Disagree0

He is worth more than £30m in today's market.
Andy the Chef

Agree0 Disagree0

For god sake. He was very good in about 30 games. He had like 4 bad games and everyone thinks he was inconsistent and had a terrible attitude. Ffs.

Agree0 Disagree0

You've got that the wrong way round surely AB? He was terrible in around 30 games and played well in a handful. FFS (can I type that without sounding like a teenage girl?)

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree with you AB, no one would moan about his attitude if it wasn't for that one game against Wigan.

Agree0 Disagree0

Fellaini's a fkn awsome player and at times he's unplayable. With respect to both the players you've mentioned I'd keep Fellaini every day of the week, and if we do end up having to sell him going for someone in the same sort of class!

Agree0 Disagree0

Whoever the anon person is you obviously didn't go to any matches last season.

If you don't believe he was any good last season then why not ask the pundits on every TV station that literally slobbered at every dominant performance he produced.

We talk about 23mil for him. He is easily worth £35mil and before his release clause was mentioned it was what every fan thought he would go for.

I suggest going the game more.

Striker looks isolated all the time too many casual passes back to gk and him passing it out there is a time and place for that and it has to be quick we were getting closed down too quick, glad to see barkley playing in a more central role ok he made a few passes that were over hit but the more and more he plays the better he is getting the boy has natural talent and dare I say it does anyone notice that when he has the ball he has a touch of Zidane about him watch him next time he plays his body language is identical he is the real deal, I bet you he catches the eye in prem this season gets england call and yes you guessed it Manchester United try and pinch him next year be interested to know his contract as we need to get him on a 5 year deal keep the vultures away glad england are going to have a player the country needs right now him and Wiltshire in midfield yea that's the future

I bet Martinez is a bit surprised at how some of our so called stars are a bit short in the ball retention and foot skills department

he'll want guys who are comfortable receiving, retaining and distributing (not to mention shooing) the ball

one or two of ours are not the best at that - so won't fit his system - expect more ins and outs I reckon

Believable0 Unbelievable0

07 Aug 2013 10:39:11
Here is a little one for ye blues to show the difference between us selling players and Spurs selling players:

If Gareth Bale was ours how much would we have ALREADY sold him for 3 WEEKS ago.

I reckon 30 million tops.

I wish we could be like Levy as he just fu**s them off big time, like Modric to Chelsea last week of the transfer market a couple of years ago for 40 million, we would have bitten their fingers off if he was our player.

The rumours with Felli to Man U, stating they have bid less than the buy out fee, come on Bill tell them to F**K off, it's 23.5 million or you don't get him.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Very good point that, degsy. It baffles me that there's a similar situation with Wigan. Hypothetically, if we were to have all their players and they ours, and we were relegated last season, how much would we get for McCarthy? 6, 7 million? Whelan's demanding 20 and everyone's just thinking 'sod that, not paying that'. BK demands 20 and everyone thinks 'great, we can probably get him for about 5.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bit unfair that. BK said he wouldn't sell Rooney for £50m and he kept his word.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not too sure where you get we sell cheap.

Rooney, lescott and Rodwell all went for big bucks. Lescott was overated and found out at City and Rodwell spends more time on the operating table than on the pitch.

As for Rooney, he left because of Moyes and we got one of the biggest deals between premier league clubs at the time ad if he goes this summer are entitled to some sell on dosh.

Pienaar and Arteta both forced our hands. The first because he was out of contract in 6 months and the other on the last 2 hours of the transfer deadline handing in a transfer request.

Apart from that most players leave us when they are close to death.

Take a few breaths out of a brown paper bag. No bid has been made and is simply the same story going around again from 2 months ago so there is no reason for BK or anyone else to start making statements or intentions about our players.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi ed. Do you think bobby got it wrong against valencia. Inexperienced team. I think he should be looking to play his best 11 now to get sort of idea for the norwich game with us only having 1 friendly left {Ed025's Note - i think he has been trying formations john, i imagine the team against betis will be near to the one which will play norwich, so lets wait and see what thats like mate..

After watching preseason I believe that Martinez's system will work as long as we add a holding midfielder that is very comfortable on the ball and good at distributio. Gibbo isn't it for me, he looks very uncomfortable in this new system. It seems as though he would be a better option just on the bench. Gustavo from Bayern could be on the way out, and rodwell back from city as they probably have too many players there as well. Even banega from valencia would be a great addition as we were linked with him briefly before. It seems that those players would stretch out budget a bit but I think that that is the caliber of player necessary to get us back in a european tournament.

Don't set your targets too high, you are falling in to the same trap as Man U.

Gustavo will only leave Bayern for another CL team.

Gibbo has been our best player in preseason, have you watched any games?

Sicknote Rodwell? let's hope that his regular half season injury does not coincide with Gibbos regular half season injury!

Agree0 Disagree0

Gibbo has been fantastic pre season. He wasn't great last night because no one was moving for him. They'd pass him the ball, he'd look up and there'd be no one there, so he'd go backwards. He can't be the catalyst in none of the other ingredients are doing their job.

I'm happy as punch when I see mixed metaphor! Nice one!

A disappointing performance IMHO against Valencia - especially after we went behind. We looked completely knackered. I didn't see an improvement in the team or in most individuals. Jagielka was good as usual. Barkley and Deulofeu showed some good skill, but also their inexperience. The rest were basically OK-ish and they all tried hard until they tired, but we lacked the quality to retain the ball - either in our individual possession or in our team passing. We do have pace in the team that creates opportunities, but we don't have the composure to finish them. Our attempt at playing out from the back was stifled by Valencia who just pressed and closed us down when necessary. Gibson - and others - can hit great passes given the time, but weren't given the time to do so. Still, it's early days and RM's Everton is clearly a work in progress. Only problem is that it's just ten days or so of pre-season left to get things ready. Let's see if any players transfer in or out and let's see how we perform against Real Betis - I imagine the team for that will (injuries notwithstanding) be pretty much what will then also line up against Norwich.

The weather was stifling mate, we're not used to playing in those conditions where as Valencia will be more used to heat like that. And if we're being brutally honest, Valencia probably have a bettr team than us.

We had played 48 hours earlier in California, flown to Miami across 2 time zones, no wonder players looked tired.
More of a worry is the injury to Jelevic who has had a good pre season

The players looked shattered in the second half and Gibson looked a bit lost throughout the game. What chances we did try and create, we fluffed in front of goal. At the end of the day the players are getting used to Martinez's style and the quality of opposition we have played in the states can only hold us in good stead for the new season. I'd rather be playing the likes of Valencia in those conditions last night, than tonking some none league side. (Wavertree Blue)

I agree we are lacking composure on the ball when pressed. However, I can't think of many British players that are, that comfortable, on the ball when pressed! this is a work in progress and we may see the the youth developed to play this way which can only be a good thing IMO. Defo on an additional CM required although Gibson may just have had an off day.

Agree we defo need to bolster the midfield and need another attacking option. (Wavertree Blue)

Bit disappointed with the last game, we didn't look overly interested and the passing was poor, the commentators said that Martinez And Gibson were arguing when he was replaced by Osman! I watched it on wiziwig was American guys doing the commentating!
I'm not sure 3 at the back will work for us, I think we should stick with a back four as our defence is strong it's just the attacking third Martinez needs to tinker around with to add goals to our game! I'm sure he knows what he's doing though! let's get back to the uk and get ready for the season to kick off!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I watched it on Fox Soccer and some of the american commentating is poor and lacks knowledge. We look a threat going forward but I think it was evident today that the players are not used to system yet, saying that it doesn't help in preseason because you can't have a settled team to get used to system as lots of chopping and changing to give players game time. I have wanted us to play 3 cb's for ages but I did have concerns of the space we gave in wide areas at times.

It's only preseason, I can't imagine Gibson having a go.

Can everyone who's moaning relax a bit. We're playing pre-season games, the point of this is for R. M. to try a few things out, see what works and what doesn't. Sure we lost against Madrid but did anyone expect any different? I'm not being negative but we just aren't anywhere near Madrid's quality, there's no shame in that. R. M. may well have a favourite formation and he's perfectly entitled to give it a try, I highly doubt he's stubborn/stupid enough to persist with it if its not good enough, but was worth checking out just in case.
I've seen plenty of positives, he took off Kone against Madrid as he was dreadfully anonymous, this shows me he's not playing favouritism with his ex-wigan boys. Jelavic is looking more confident now. He's giving Barkley and Stones a chance and i'm very excited by what they've shown, especially Stones. He is like a new signing for the coming season so that's a bonus. Our fitness levels look pretty good and so far we haven't been stuffed by anyone, considering we're against such quality opposition I am very impressed. I'm looking forward to our match against Valencia and hopefully more positives will be clear (unless this is posted after the game, in which case Yay, how freaking awesome were we. great win!)

No transfers will be made until after the whole squad has returned from America, RM is assessing the squad out there and enquired into some players that could possibly strengthen in areas where he thinks need strengthening but no business will be done until after the return to England.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

With this quality squad we can run in EPL. well. But only we need to lift up our game we have add some. Do now get profit but later nothing loss. Only I feel RM. need his team complete for next year not this year. He foresee to Europe cup next year already. So to blend his team he want to do ASAP.
