Yeahhhhhhh!! Ha ha haaaaa!! Well said pc. About time the mancs was on the receiving end. Nice one gollum.

Agree0 Disagree0

Did he say that they played well again? I'm sure he has said that every time they have got beat. God knows how they will get on when they don't play well.

Agree0 Disagree0

Too right trm. They got the swans again next I think. Wonder what odds at coral for Swansea win again? I may be forced to stick a cheeky couple of quid on it.

{Ed025's Note - united were once the goliath of football....then along came david.. :)

Love it ed might post that on mu page

Agree0 Disagree0

Fair play jab if you do. Absolutely comical mate. did anyone see the reaction of Charlton and whiskey nose in the crowd? A facial grimace and a shake of the head from Charlton. Pure comedy gold blues and eds

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed025 - brilliant one-liner about David and Goliath!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i have to admit it was stolen...but had to share it kev..

Its all about the referees this month. he's already used up every excuse in the book from August to December so time for the last resort.

Strong rumours about on here
that some signings could be precontract or loan backs, statement from RM read -
What we cannot afford is to lose what we have got and we have something special in that dressing room. The last thing we can afford is for someone (a new signing) to dislodge or affect the dynamic of the dressing room.
Makes you wonder if this is true and we keep hold of Johnny and jelavic unless they push for a move away officially?

Fellow Blues,
ssn have stated that Chelsea are not happy with Brenda over the amount of time Moses has played since being on loan at RS and this may scupper their bid to take Bertrand on loan for the rest of the season. Is this actually possible I was under the impression that you could only have 1 long term loan from a PL club and could not therefore take a second player on a 1/2 season loan from the same club. Can anyone please clarify if Sky are talking B*ll*x again.
If possible who would you take from either MC or Chelsea as a second loan option if anyone at all?
I would try an audacious bid for Mata (class) and Rodwell I would be very interested to see what Robbie could do with Rodwell to make him a better player I think we could then concentrate on trying to sign a striker for next season.

I like Mata but would he be happy playing second fiddle to Barkley or even the other way around. Rodwell?? Injury prone and simply not good enough. Not worth the gamble or wages imo. i'd also prefer not to loan players from the top teams in England. Sure Lukaku and Barry done excellent for us but i'd like us to sign permanent players for our club

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jan 2014 11:37:05
So you want us to bid for mata who will cost over 20m and then you want us to buy an injury prone headless chicken responsible for a goal city concede in every game he plays in and will cost more than half of what we got for him so about 8m all while still managing to buy a striker next season with little to no money? Mata wouldn't come to us, who cares what business liverpool do they will not win the league and we should target jordie clasie or someone actually good in central midfield rather than take a risk on rodwell to see if martinez could make him good despite moyes, mancini and pellegrini all failing to do so oh did I mention he is as injury prone as abou diaby on drugs?

Mike-Ox Long

So that's a no from you too mike lol

Mike either you couldn't be bothered to read the post properly or you've had a few too many. We are talking loans if possible, not buys. IMO Mata for half a season on loan may give us the imputus to maintain our challenge. As for Rodwell a few seasons ago most people were saying he had the potential to be a star player. For what ever reason this did not happen but we all know how good he could have been. I was actually eluding to whether Bobbie could change his game around back to the player that we hoped he could be.
AS for the RS I don't give a monkies about them my point was about the loan system and the tv report.

I personally would prefer to buy than loan but if we can get better deals on the players Bobbie wants by waiting till the summer then I would be happy for a few more loans comming in till then.

mata again wouldn't come to us, why would he? and rodwell never had potential, chelses bid 18m for some reason and everyone was under the assumption he could be good, james vaughan could of been world class should we get him back to see if we can improve him? what about drenthe? richard wright isn't doing much these days? or how about getting james beattie out of retirement because he scored a few goals then went crap let's see if we can get back those crap seasons with a great comeback!

Mike-Ox Long

Agree0 Disagree0

How can you say Rodwell never had potential?

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jan 2014 17:11:53
Okay Mike glad you sorted that out for me. We will have to disagree about Rodwell as we obvisouly have different opinions. As for Mata I don't actually know if he would or would not come to Everton but if he's never asked then he never will that is for certain.

IMWT

Agree0 Disagree0

So Cochise aka Mike-Ox Long.Mata would not come to us? Even though he is not getting a game at Chelsea? Even though it would only possibly be for half a season? And we couldn't afford him anyway! And the person who posted the initial post suggested such a crazy thing. Do you know who you remind me of. David Moyes!!
LMFAO!!

because when I watched him he never did anything, pass sideways with the right foot oh then left foot to make him look ambidextrous with his feet, always running away from the ball so he never had to bother contributing to play, always backed out of a tackle, jogged around like a blind dog playing fetch to make himself look busy, bafkley, stones, deulofeu all do stuff and actually contribute, they have big futures, rodwell does not and never did, thank god he has gone and mate when psg, monaco and athletico madrid are interested you do not choose everton

Mike-Ox Long

Agree0 Disagree0

Like that description of certain experts in other areas that "they know the price of everything, but know the value of nothing", I imagine that tv knows all the transfer gossip, but doesn't really understand the rules about loans. The only media outlet that I've seen that does appear to know the rules is the Echo, which referred to the rules (domestic and foreign) in a recent article.

Agree0 Disagree0

If it wasn't for the fact David Moyes makes his players run in training more than any known manager Jack Rodwell could well be England's current 1st choice centre back. He was nailed on to play there eventually. Crippled with injuries his body clearly couldn't keep up with the demands of the manager. A problem currently experienced by RVP. As far as Rodwell the midfielder on the pitch, maybe you should consider the possibility that he was doing what his manager told him to do. I can't remember a defensive midfielder under Moyes who actually passed the ball forward. I'm also now not seeing many Utd midfielders pass the ball forward. We can't judge him at City because when he plays it's usually his first game in months. I saw him play for England and boss the game and that's what prompted the bid from City. I hope he gets over his injury nightmare and becomes the player his clear talent warrants. Not at Everton though because sadly I fear the injuries will win in the end. Hamstrings are important in football.

Agree0 Disagree0

You must have the memory of a goldfish Mike, before his injury problems he was on the verge of becoming an England regular and future captain of club and country.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jan 2014 21:07:51
yes I must do mate because I cannot remember the england manager or moyes saying he is definitely going to captain everton and england, he had no chance of captaining england, phil jones or jack wilshere were always destined for that role, he is not a leader, watch man citys tunnel cams on youtube you never see him going 'come on lads' or when he is on the pitch for anyone he never tries to drive the team forward, useless and let's face it we all knew he would never 'make it' but if you want us to bring him back that's your opinion, did I mention he has been at fault in everyone of his games for city when they have comceded did I also mention he is injury prone, very very injury prone

Mike-Ox Long

Agree0 Disagree0

As I recall he was playing for England before either Jones or Wiltshire got near the team. Yes the lad has had a lot of injuries and that will have knocked his confidence. But sadly there are too many of your type of supporter these days. Only recall the bad never the good. Who's next Barkley?

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jan 2014 22:55:49
he made his england debut coming on as a substitute replacing phil jones, rodwell made his debut in 2011, wilshire made his in 2010, oops guess my memory is wrong there only I researched it and discovered it to be fact, but guessing the many people and sources all who watched those games have short memories too, barkley will make it or rather already has, he has talent, pace, power, skill, works hard, 2 footed, scores goals and isn't as the tin man from the wizard of oz unlike rodwell, barkley has equaled rodwells caps in 2 months compared to rodwells 2 going on 3 years

Mike-Ox Long

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - to be fair mike, the young rodwell showed great promise, most of us thought he would achieve great things...have you thought that maybe OFM ruined him with his negativity?, after all, ross never got much of a chance under him...just a thought..

07 Jan 2014 23:08:44
i never bought into the hype ed and have never rated him im, others saw something I didn't and still haven't seen, its not fact he would of been good but its also not fact he wouldn't of been, could be something to do with moyes but imo he lacks natural ability and raw talent which is what people his age (barkley, lukaku, deulofeu etc) rely on but I won't argue that moyes couldn't of impacted him hugely, he may well of done

Mike-Ox Long

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm afraid we just have to agree to disagree mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

He is a professional footballer Mike. How on earth could he lack raw talent?

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jan 2014 16:25:30
bret angel was a professional footballer too and phillipe senderos, he doesn't have any physical attributes nor the mentality to pass the ball really well, the only thing I could give him credit for is he could act like a headless chicken for the full 90 which I suppose can count as good stamina

Mike-Ox Long

Agree0 Disagree0

To all the posters trying to construct a reasonable debate with Mike Ox-Long, I am afraid he works by way of a light switch. Ie off or on. He is black or white. A player is either totally rubbish and not rated. eg Osman, Rodwell, Brett Angel etc or they are absolutely world class. eg Lukaku, Deulofeu, Barkley etc. Mike does not make allowances for work rate, team balance, youth and experience etc. Players are either great or crap. I have tried many times to construct a reasonable debate with him about Osman, Pienaar etc but all I get is. A player = crap, B player = brilliant. But I have to admit he did get me when he brought Brett Angell into his argument. Simples.
