Ok own up then who is the one voter that voted for howard over Robles own up ha ha ha ha.

07 Jan 2016 19:51:14
His iPad has come out of its box more than Tim has come out of his box then (6yd box)

07 Jan 2016 20:34:22
I think Howard voted twice 😝.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jan 2016 20:41:45
The other one is his number 1 fan. RM.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jan 2016 03:08:38
Always liked Howard but I suspect his commitment to the game waited somewhat, never been a strong commander of his box anyway but when you seem to be first choice regardless complacency is bound to become an eventuality.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Jan 2016 18:32:03
Here's a question fellow blues. We all know that howard needs reliving of his duties as our number one.
Here's my point though is Joel Robles good enough to be our long term number one myself deep down I don't think he is I don't know why I can't put my finger on it which would mean I believe we need to spend decent money on a keeper with the right quality in his mid 20s that can give us a good 10 yrs service maybe I'll turn out to be wrong but anyway there's my thoughts on our goalkeeper situ.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

07 Jan 2016 19:46:52
Butland is the only keeper I'd like to see us buy. This is why. As you say a mid twenties keeper with 10 years service is what we need. But that type of goaldie is exactly Joel.

We're not going to get De Gea or Courtois. So it would be a second or third choice keeper we'd be realistically buying. Which is what Joel is.

Someone mentioned Joel kept De Gea out of the team when they were in the Spanish U21's. So the potential is there.

I do think Joel would make mistakes if he was in goals. But I think he'd grow out of them. For me he has improved a lot since he came to Everton so I'd only expect that he'd improve even more if he got plenty more game time.

I say play him. Can't imagine he would be worse than Howard and there's a good chance he'd get better at his age of mid twenties. If he doesn't improve enough then go all out for a new keeper.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Jan 2016 20:19:09
I get what your saying nb and of corse I hope he proves me wrong I also believe he's improved a lot since he signed and maybe a run of games will build his confidence which is a massive part of a keepers make up but like I say I can't put my finger on what it is.

Agree1 Disagree0

08 Jan 2016 08:38:20
Listening to Brazil and Wilkins on TS this morning both saying Howard needs replacing and Robes possibly not the answer, trouble is a top replacement is likely to be £15m plus.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - we should be able to afford that wakka after the money we received from sly..

08 Jan 2016 12:07:43
I agree wak but like ed says we should be capable of 15m. Ay ed although I new rocky was a fan I didn't know he was funding us. (Oh sky haha)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - well Sly did pay a fee to use Goodison in the movie Creed....}

08 Jan 2016 11:27:44
true Ed025 just got to get Roberto's blinkers off!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - we do mate..

07 Jan 2016 17:06:23
Here's hoping Howard, McGeady, Kone and Gibbo play in the cup match, give the first team lads a chance to have a rest. 😉.

Believable1 Unbelievable3

{Ed025's Note - yeah...but we dont want to lose mate..

07 Jan 2016 17:32:52
Please not McGeady or Osman.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jan 2016 17:34:13
I would agree Woburnblue with 3 out of the 4. Would love to see Robles in goal. Would also love to see the other 3 play along with Galloway, Lennon and Naismith.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jan 2016 17:38:07
Not saying McGeady going to suddenly be first choice winger but he might surprise you Swan.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - if he made a 5 yard pass it would surprise me..

07 Jan 2016 18:37:13
give robles a rest are you avin a laugh ffs he"s only played one game we want howard gone not give him more game time robles needs more games to show he is better than the worst keeper at the club the worlds gone mad.

07 Jan 2016 18:57:09
@bluepaul. Amen!

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jan 2016 19:01:36
I think Woburnblue was more or less saying that Joel was first team bluepaul. He was being sarcastic or jokingly saying Howard was second choice. That's my reading of it anyway.

Woburnblue is a regular poster and as far as I can see knows what he's about and wasn't serious about Howard. I may be wrong though.

Agree2 Disagree0

07 Jan 2016 20:24:03
NBTA your right, just trying to add a little humour whilst making a point about the keeper situation.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jan 2016 20:53:44
point taken guys soz woburnblue I think tim has taken all my sence of humour out of me.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jan 2016 22:13:14
We've all taken things up the wrong way on here bluepaul. Wouldn't worry about it. That's the down side to reading text, sometimes its hard to know what way to take it up when you can't see the person.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 jan 2016 23:14:20
agreed mate when ye can't see the person its hard to judge so here it goes. i"v got big ears a flat nose 1 blue and 1 brown eye 1 tooth at the top and 3 at the bottom and a fried tuck hair cut. .oh ye and i"m single can't think why. hope this helps next time we dissagree on somthing. ha ha.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jan 2016 08:41:24
He is looking to send Mcgeady and Gibson out on loan so may be an opportunity to put them in the shop window.
It may be an opportunity for Galloway and Holgate to get a game.
Really think he should give Naismith a start.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - so do i wakka..

08 Jan 2016 08:50:48
is this for a thank you to the fans, think he's a great fella great pro but am sorry but he's on his way time to give players a game for the future of the club plus he will be cup tied if Naismith plays.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jan 2016 12:02:41
Give a couple of kids ago.plonk Sam Byrne on bench,Tom Davies and maybe Pennington. Play Holgate from the off at full back and maybe a decent winger from the u21's.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jan 2016 13:11:40
Let's hope we don't put McGeady in the shop window, no one will buy him.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jan 2016 13:11:24
Any chance of a poll Ed? Howard or Robles for goalkeeper.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed033's Note - Ok, Poll is now up.

Howard or Robles Poll

07 Jan 2016 17:31:06
Eh Ed, I think we'll the poll as should Robles be goalkeeper.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jan 2016 17:44:23
And Let RM see it lol.

Agree2 Disagree0

07 Jan 2016 18:05:45
Poll doesn't matter Mr Martinez has already said Howard is No 1 and Robles knows this, terrible comment to make in my eyes. Moyes had his favourites but this guy is worse because he is also arrogantly stubborn. I am not having a go at Tim but if our defence played as well as they did last night what is the common denominator when they play not so good in league games. For me it is a combination of TH and RM costing us points.

Agree3 Disagree0

07 Jan 2016 18:21:54
I agree dunc but the polls are to gage fan opinion. By the way Robles.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jan 2016 09:26:13
As Martinez has said since the City game, the defence have recovered their confidence or word to that effect. More confident because Joel is behind them says it all.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Jan 2016 14:54:01
As good as we were last night I can't help thinking its only half time, and remember it was the same last season going into a second leg against kiev, we all know what happened there.

Believable2 Unbelievable4

08 Jan 2016 03:05:47
If you wanna treat every situation as a reality check then it's easy to take that stance but we played well and we won so what's the point in bringing up the obvious on the back of a good result.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jan 2016 06:05:45
I get what your saying as the thought came into my mind, but we are a year older a year wiser and we don't have that donkey at cb alkeras, like I said we are more composed away from goodison and we have a game with them befor in the prem that we can learn a lot from we need luck and the fans right behind them a good solid defencive display keep a clean sheet we are at Wembley wouldn't put it past us with all the goals against we have had we will keep one, but we will go there to win they will be nervous and we need to take advantage.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jan 2016 12:03:42
Just a note on something, after the World Cup a lot of people on here didn't want Lukaku, they wanted someone else.

So, do people still wish we bought Divock "I still haven't escaped Tony Hibbert's back pocket" Origi instead of Rom? Because he came on as a sub for Belgium once.

Believable0 Unbelievable3

07 Jan 2016 13:26:49
Don't remember anyone asking for origi especially after rom had a great season that year for us.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Jan 2016 14:57:02
Plenty did, type his name in the search bar and scroll down a bit.

Agree0 Disagree1

07 Jan 2016 17:14:47
Swan, I could be totally wrong on this but was it not you who preferred Bony at the time? Apologies if it wasn't you :)

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jan 2016 09:24:18
Did anyone else see Coleman eat the head off Joel. Coleman was along the touchline and nearly at the half way line. Joel gave a long range throw right to Coleman's feet. There was a man near Coleman. The ball eventually went out for a throw and then Coleman gave out to Joel.

I thought Coleman was wrong. It's something you never see Howard doing and Joel doesn't need someone trying undermine him. He needs to build his confidence. It's another aspect to Joel's game which is a contributor to him being more suited to goals at the minute rather than Howard.

Believable1 Unbelievable5

07 Jan 2016 17:36:51
more worrying was Ossies pass that nearly put Baines in the treatment room.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Jan 2016 19:49:46
Yea, it wasn't a big deal and Coleman was right to say Joel was wrong to pass to him in that situation. Just didn't think Joel needed to be ate alive because of it.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jan 2016 03:02:58
He took it on the chin he's a grown man I think being told you were wrong is acceptable in any job.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jan 2016 09:32:58
So Howard can let in plenty of goals, cost us points and is told by Martinez he is our number one. And Joel is told he knows he's number 2.

Have yet to see Howard getting an eating this season. So basically your agreeing with Martinez. Say nothing to Howard he can do what he wants. Joel makes a tiny mistake setting up an attack and he gets his head chewed off.

Yea that makes sense don't say anything to Howard and give out to Joel for damn all. God I said it before, if I was Joel I'd look for a transfer. I think its a disgrace the way he's been treated this season. He's basically been sh*t on so far this season.

Howard didn't look happy on the bench,
Lets hope we see more ov that frown ha

Believable2 Unbelievable0

07 Jan 2016 10:32:17
He doesn't look happy in goal.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Jan 2016 13:14:28
Looks like he doesn't care when he's in goal. It's very confusing. Martinez straight away after Besic plays well he starts him. Joel is doing well a while now and Martinez just won't acknowledge it.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Jan 2016 13:40:27
Who knows what goes on in Roberto's mind, he really should come more down to Earth. Statements like 'Tim is No 1 and Robles knows that' don't help. Now he comes out with 'Barry is one of Englands best players ever', 'Everton fans need to understand it takes time (3 seasons Roberto, 1 season finished 5th) , to progress you cannot just click your fingers. As an example of man-management Roberto is not it. On wednesday Tim will be back in goal, Kone will be up front, Besic may play but only because we still have injuries.

Agree2 Disagree0

07 Jan 2016 02:59:11
Listened to the game at work but how did Robles look and command his area. Was there an air of confidence within the back 4.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

07 Jan 2016 05:59:12
the defence was solid and robles deserves to stay in but will bobby see it that way I doubt it, robles imo deserves a crack at no1 he's a man mountain and the save he pulled off would of been a goal if howard was in, stef we have nothing to fear from city we are better away from home i'd be more worried if we was at goodison we are more than capable of pulling it off, fingers crossed the injuries aren't as bad as they looked gr8 team performance only barkley and geri dindnt perform to the best of there ability, the slagging Osman gets on here he deserves credit with how he coped coming on at half time for cleverly he has something to offer the team from the bench imo, barry and besic were outstanding, baines best game for a wile, mori brilliant and lukaku is becoming a legend C. O. Y. B managers tactics were spot on and team selection.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jan 2016 07:43:35
That performance, set-up, adaptive tactics and commitment is somewhat like some of us have been on about for months. Look a different side with Besic playing (made Toure looked ordinary) it gives Barry the legs he needs and more room to slot in. Observations, we really do need a left sided all rounded midfielder, somehow/ somewhere a forward to take the pressure off Lukaku and the defense looked a more confident unit with Robles in goal. Conclusion much better performance, Goodison was buzzing but and here is the pessimism I/ we just know that the next League game RM will revert to type, Tim, Kone will be in and Team will look ordinary again.

Agree3 Disagree0

07 Jan 2016 08:53:34
Muff I thought Barkley done his bit. He looked sharp I thought. There was more go in him than of late anyway.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Jan 2016 09:22:48
he gives away the ball to easy his positional play is his worse attribute he needs to work on that so much he had a ok game needs to improve just my opinion ntbt he's prob are weak link in midfield because of these faults, he should of put us up 2-0 but hit it strait at the keeper any were else we would have a 3-1 score line he did improve through 2nd half but thought besic and barry carried him at times.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - bit harsh that muff, i thought he was very good last night, yes a few slack passes but was strong and carried the ball really well for me mate..

07 Jan 2016 09:31:13
he still has a lot to improve to his game ed025 that's all am saying would of given him a 6 out of 10 him and geri were are two below par performers compared to rest as they were brilliant i. m. o.

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed025's Note - i think we are all expect a bit too much of ross muff, i have been a big critic of him in the past but thought he was really good..

07 Jan 2016 09:53:15
We where brill till Osman came on, and he did nothing again.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - he was not too bad stig, but for me was the wrong option, i would have put lennon on myself..but what do i know mate..

07 Jan 2016 10:07:33
agreed.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jan 2016 10:12:39
That angle would have been incredibly hard to score from muff and he did so well to get onto that ball before the defender and get in on goal. I thought he played well, bar some poor passes on occasion, I thought he looked dangerous on the ball and running at defenders.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - im with you Tmh..

07 Jan 2016 11:32:42
Thought Barkley was okay, in fact his game is getting to the point of consistency where we are quite unmoved when he has a okay game. The other big plus is that is two solid games out of Besic running that midfield, to see Traore moaning last night was cool. Now if we could just stop Roberto and his 'Best midfielder in England', phenomenal, exciting etc! life would be grand.

Agree2 Disagree0

07 Jan 2016 01:38:44
Just been in town and saw this fella take his Liverpool top off put it in a carry bag and then into the bin I thought it was a bit weird but they usually are kopites so anyway I gave it 5 mins and went and got it out the bin. Well at 5p a bag wouldn't you.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - No, no I certainly would not! So you dipped a bin for a poly bag worth 5p and think it's something to brag about on the internet? You basically raked a bin for the cheapest thing a Liverpool fan could buy and put in the bin, a 5p carrier bag - glue sniffers wouldn't even do that!}

07 Jan 2016 06:20:08
I think it was a joke ed.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - he is Scottish, humour goes way over his head.... Though, to be fair to him, it was a crap joke, a really bad variant of the 'well you can never have too many nails' gag.}

07 Jan 2016 00:55:08
Great win tonight but have we done enough to go through I don't think so. Shame as City where there for the taking tonight some better decision making in and around the box and we could have really hurt them. We let City of the hook tonight and I pray we don't regret it.

Believable1 Unbelievable3

07 Jan 2016 02:50:47
Why not? If we go there and get a goal City have to score 3 to beat us, if we somehow score 2 then they need 4 to beat us. We are much better away from home and they are bombarded with the league and Champions League so may rest players and if not their players will be tired. We have a great chance, their defence and Goalkeeper is dreadful, we will get chances.
