Just thinking, if we beat Wigan, we could get put against Blackburn/Millwall in the semi's. that would make it a whole lot easier to get within 1 GAME off getting into Europe and ending our quest for a trophy (18 Years)

Mike

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with you mike tbh

Agree0 Disagree0

Man u or city would be easier.

City = beat us once in 6 yrs
Utd - done them in the semis before

Knowing our luck we'll get milwall (if we go through) and lose to a late 89m goal

Agree0 Disagree0

Huh? United or City would be an easier tie than millwall or blackburn in the Semi's? I got to disagree with that. Compare the team sheets lol, that would make amusing reading. I'd also like one of the Championship clubs in the semi's, give us a real good chance in reaching the final.
Ed, on a serious note is there any chance Moyes will stay on and sign a new cotract? What are the chances?

Dog Puke Peter {Ed025's Note - i think the chances are very good peter... where on earth will he find a big club like ours, who are willing to pay top dollar, with his managerial record mate?..

Agree0 Disagree0

Well even if we do get through and meet Blackburn or Millwall in the semis, we're still probably going to have to beat Man U/Man City in the final to win it. Quite far from it being job done!.

Agree0 Disagree0

Would rather get one of the big teams in the semi to be honest! Knock them out and then have a easier game in the final hopefully! {Ed025's Note - easier route the better for me..

Who is this Chrsitian Atsu we're being linked with. 10m?, I've just looked at his stats and they are terrible. Are we just going to buy crap strikers now to save Moyes the trouble of making them useless?.

Believable2 Unbelievable6

It's because he's classed as 'one for the future'. He's only 21 and apparently quite good but I've never seen him play, £10m seems a bit steep

I just want to say in advance, we need to get behind the players and spur them on like never before on Saturday. It's going to be a tough game and the players need us now, more than ever. I dream of a return trip to Wembley every season and I sense there is something in the water this year, so let's scream and sing the blues all the way to the finish line. This is our year, it's our time. No more will our neighbours be singing about our 18 year quest for a trophy because this is the season we lift the F. A. cup. Let's blow the roof off Goodison on Saturday because we are Everton aren't we?

BitterBlue {Ed025's Note - love it bitter mate..

Believable11 Unbelievable1

Good stuff Bitter, I'll be behind them all the way, Jelavic included ;-). Shame you can't get into the dressing room and relay those words to them, it would inspire each and every one.

Hi Lads, not sure if I'm going to get Disagrees for this, but personally I would LOVE to see Micah Richards at the club. He never plays for City, behind Zabaleta and Maicon, would fit into our team straight away and would get him cheap as he is 3rd choice RB! C'mon Moyesey work ya magic man! {Ed025's Note - i agree lanky, one hell of a player mate..

Believable10 Unbelievable3

Top RB imo, and could also be a good CB.

Agree0 Disagree0

He's not third choice, he has been injured and up until the injury was first choice!

Agree0 Disagree0

He has been injured most of the season. When fit he is first choice mate

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes, he's not 3rd choice but with Zabaleta (who is in the form of his life) then he may be the 3rd choice

I think the media a making too much out of nothing on the Rooney issue because there is no issue he gets put on the bench and all of a sudden UTD don't want him anymore. I wonder could it be that Fergie just changed his tactics and Rooney didn't fit the system he was starting with cause when Utd had to chase the game he turned straight to Rooney so I think it is a load of bull. Seen some posts about Fellaini swap for Rooney well for starters I don't think Utd are too intrested in the big man it is Chelsea who want him if we were going to do a player swap it would more than likely be Baines as I think there more intrested in him than Fellaini But we would have to pay around 10 mill, aswell. Then there is the issue of wages Rooney would have to take a big pay cut which by the time his greedy agent is finished advising him he will not accept it so all I can say unless we get a huge investment Rooney will not be playing here anytime soon I am sorry to say by the way PSG are reported to be intrested in him so if he is going it looks like they will be front runners not us. But my final thought on this will be he will still be with Utd next year.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Any board worth it's salt would be able to sort Rooneys wages, the spin offs that his name would bring and commercially, he would attract plenty of money, he's a world wide name who attracts big money. {Ed004's Note - And that's why I personally think he will not be sold for 25 million. He will be sold for a lot more IMO though I may be slightly biased}

Agree0 Disagree0

If Rooney wanted to come back u buy if it's similar to the felliani price. I think teams are not paying stupid prices no more due to the new finance rules, and united want pace alongside van Persie. ferguson has never forgave Rooney about his contract deal 2 years ago,. Rooney has lost his edge, he needs a cause that he loves will only ever get that at everton

Agree0 Disagree0

Personally would not want rooney back, he is young enough to win trophies with a other. Everton lack ambition and do not think rooney is enough.

Not sure if we have a hope in hell, but Luke Shaw at Southampton is a ready made replacement for Baines IF we have to sell at any stage. Very pacy, good skills and looks much more accomplished than his 18 years suggest. I predict him to be an England LB by the time he is 23.
Degsypulford

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Good player, but would cost a fortune. And if he did become available, bigger clubs than us would be after him, so I doubt we would get him. I agree he will be England's LB by the time he is 23.

Mike

Agree0 Disagree0

Already have a replacement in oviedo

Agree0 Disagree0

Note: I said IF we sell Baines. Which of course I hope we don't. But that would give us a substantial sum of money. We could then put in a very good bid for him. Like I said, I really rate the kid and I am not usually wrong in these matters. Remember my name. But more importantly, remember his name!

Wayne there's a vacant number 10 for you. Take a wage cut and come home!

Believable7 Unbelievable3

No chance. Wouldn't want that fat, overrated, Shrek lookalike muppet back here. Once a blue, always a Manc.

Mike

Agree0 Disagree0

If he is affordable (not sure about that) and he can add to what we already have (which I think he can) I would welcome him back.

Agree0 Disagree0

Look at it this way mike, if in any other occupation you got offered a new job with a lot more money, more chances of success and the chance to become one of the best in the country/if not the world, you'd snap their hand off

u sound like a bitter red talking like that

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm not arsed about him leaving. He has been proven to have made the right choice. Any player with any sense would leave here to play for Utd. I have a problem with the fact that he is no longer that good and badly overrated, would want about £220k a week and I don't want him back.
He is fat, he is overrated, he does look like shrek, he is a muppet. so what did I say that would make me sound like a red?

Mike

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't buy into the any other occupation comparison. Football players are unique, as are the earnings verses sacrifice.

WR was offered 55k a week by the club he adores. That would make him a millionaire in as little as 3 months. It took him half that time to make his debut for united because he was injured. Yet still got paid. I genuinely can't compare that with any other in the workplace.

There is definitely one of the following if not all involved in the reason he left.

Selfishness, disloyalty and greed.

I will ask all you as fans as was WR.

Play and be idolised for the club you love for 55k a week or united for double. Only one answer for me.

Toffee ace

Agree0 Disagree0

Roo would do nicely actually, if he came back it wouldn't take long for him to win the fans over. I reckon he would score more than Jelavic too

If Rooney decides to come home and wear the royal blue again it surely won't be for the money, he's got plenty and won everything, surely he won't embarrass himself and the club coming back as a 34 yr old hasbeen, he would have to do justice to himself and the club and come back young enough to make an impact

Believable8 Unbelievable1

Excellent OP

Whether or not he wants to come home yet? well that's a good question in itself, However the money thing should not be an issue I mean crikey, Beckham gave his PSG wages to a local charity so taking a pay cut to what? 60 or 70k
?

Look, me personally I would give him a warm welcome if he did comeback, it's the grudge holders and classroom mentality miseries that would be the real issue not the money!

Would you swap Fellaini and Baines for Rooney in the summer blues? I would.

COYB

Believable2 Unbelievable10

To heavey; to slow, poor attitude, a player in decline, don't like whisky nose, but he is not stupid, he sees him every day and his view on when to sell a player has never been that far off. {Ed025's Note - jaap stam, and ronaldo might disagree...fergie likes to stamp his authority, and prove that he,s the big cheese, and someone will get the benefit..

Agree0 Disagree0

Fellaini and Baines combined value £45-50m, Rooney £25m at most. Why would we entertain such an idea? I posted last night Sir Purple Nose might look to shift him for around £20m and, lo and behold, it's in most tabloids this morning that he could go for a cut-price fee of around £20m.

Agree0 Disagree0

Straight swap for Fellaini and I'd bite their hand off.

Agree0 Disagree0

Come on lads let's put this Rooney
Nonsense to bed he's out of our range maybe on a free in two years but the more realistic targets Hernandez benteke negrado Lakaku are what we need
