Definately Zouma if a deal can be struck but I am 50/ 50 on Gomes - had some great games but a few quiet ones as well.

Not EFC related but what a strike by Kompany last night!

Back to the OP. I’m sorry it’s a ridiculous comment to make being as he added so much to the team this season. Even when he’s been average he’s still been better than most. I can understand it if some don’t want to waste the entire summer budget on him or that the focus should be on Zouma. But come on.

Nonsense Unal. Gomes along with Zouma have been integral to the way we have played this season.

The last 3ish months we have found a great level of consistency and doing all we can to sign Zouma and Gomes have to be priority’s for the summer.

That’s the point Ed, priorities. Gomez has to be a priority along with Zouma. Don’t get me wrong, we totally need a striker too but Gomez has already shown an ability to perform well in this league and that in itself is worth buckets.

TBH i am not that keen on Gomes. Don't get me wrong he is good, but for that position we already have Schnids, Davies, Gana, macarthy and besic (not sure on loan or contract lengths though) I'd personally rather see Davies get more game time.

If money was no option then yeah get him if he wants to come. But I think there are other positions that need strenghening first that money could be better spent on.

Here are my reasons
1, I don't think he is good enough in that position
2, he slows the tempo of he offensive play
3, lacks pace
4, lacks a goal threat
5, seems to tire in the second half
6, defending is not his fortune
7, mostly, is that Barcelona will be asking a high price 25 million plus
On top of this an extortionate wages
Too much of a risk to take
Everton will get better value for their money looking elsewhere.
