4-1-3-2
Howard-GK
Coleman-RWB
Distin-CB
Jagielka-CB
Baines-LWB
Hietinga-CH
Drenthe-LCM
Rodwell-CM
Barkley-RCM
Saha-ST
Velios-ST
This would allow Baines and Coleman space to run as wing backs and Hietinga could cover them as centre half. Drenthe and Barkley could also make runs and rodwell could act as a playmaker.

I would sell Fellani + Bilyaletdinov in January and get Holtby + a striker and then we could challenge for top 5 again.
Blue Kaz. Your thoughts ED {Ed001's Note - it does look decent on paper, might be a bit vulnerable down the flanks.}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

And why are we selling one of our best players in Fellani?

Agree2 Disagree0

Fellaini is good just gets too many bookings

Agree0 Disagree0

Fellani is out of contract in what, 14-16 months, and if he dont sign that means his value is going to drop to half of what he is worth, or less, we really need to get him to sign now or sell otherwise we'll lose like 10m on him

Agree1 Disagree0

Hes crap hes not interested hes was to blame for goal at chelsea didnt even challange turned his back what a great example that show hes very very overated

Agree1 Disagree2

He's crap?! You must be watching a different game to everyone else.
I agree that if he doesn't sign his contract by the summer then we will need to get rid to make sure we get the most money possible for him, but I really hope he stays as Felli and Rodwell in midfield is starting to gel, if only we can get people in front of them to move a bit.

Agree1 Disagree0

By the summer?!
if he dont sign by end of December (full stop deadline) he needs to go in January as he's just doing a pienaar on us (cheers a bunch you fkin bstd - after we paid 15m that we dont have on you and helped make your name despite you being injured or suspended half the time)

if you let it go until the summer he's just 12 months away from walking out for free and then he definitely wont sign

there must be some mugs at goodison if he strings them along for much longer

Who else thinks we should give rodders the armband for a few games just so that he is loving his football even more. Maybe even a few goals for him ;) and if he knows hes guaranteed the armband at everton it may discourage him from wanting to leave if a top club makes an offer... I really see captain material in this lad {Ed025's Note - he has done well up to now, but he needs to find a voice before he can be taken seriously...but maybe in the future..

when hibbert scores we will go mental hope its at goodison on the 19th, i will not let him retire without a goal

Believable3 Unbelievable1

This will be in the papers in 50+ years:

Tony Hibbert has just suffered a heart attack while playing for Everton. {Ed025's Note - nice one mate ha ha..

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol, Hibbert has been one of our best performers this season,
TBH i love the lad, reminds me of the 'dogs of war' style that we need so much right now, stick him in the middle and let him kick a few of the opposition, we'll soon start winning

Agree3 Disagree0

A heart attack just as he rounded the keeper to face an open goal from a yard out. HA!

here,s one for everyone Landon Donavon is,t the only player we are lookin at LA a certain mr Beckham is being considered. think about it Becks is still very good mates with neville he would get a place in the team to show off for the olympics also imagine the publicity it would bring to the club from future investers...moysie has said time and time again he would give him a shout think they did work together at preston. {Ed025's Note - he is a high profile celebrity, who, if he came back to england, would want a high profile club to enhance his image....that rules us out im afraid..so its a non-starter..

Believable2 Unbelievable2

It was spoke about on the train coming back from the game need to keep an open mind you never know in this club gazza, ginola stranger things have happened. {Ed025's Note - but they were hardly chavs...lol

season analysis

Well for me the start to the season has been extremely poor, I know we have just had a bad run of fixtures but lets take a look at the whole picture....we have 3 wins, and all 3 wins for me were very lucky, blackburn..we got battered and they missed 2 pens, wigan..this was 1-1 with 10 mins left and wigan hit the bar, then fulham, zamora misses a complete open goal, if zamora had of scored and we lost it would now be 7 defeats on the trot, I dont know how long you would have to go back to find worse form from any manager, whilst im not saying moyes should go as we would not be able to replace him with anything better, the system needs changing now before its too late, 2, 3 , 4 years ago we were playing this system and it worked a treat with lots of 1-0 wins in each campaign, however teams have now completely worked us out and i cant understand how moyes cant see this, next game wolves, surely it has to be 4-4-2 doesent it?? knowing moyes it wont be, i agree with most on here bily and hetinga need to go and get some quality in january, but i believe if the club is not took over within the next 12 months then we will end up being relegated in the next season or two..your thoughts ED {Ed025's Note - that is what i would call a true and honest well thought through analysis of the season so far, i need add nothing!...well done mate.

Moyes is just not adventurous enough,we have taken a backwards step even from last season. He is not bold enough with his team selections and doesn't change things that don't work.

Bez the blue {Ed025's Note - i have been lambasted for saying the same thing bez....IMO davids attitude has been very negative, and his demeanor even worse!, but he is a very stubborn individual and will not change..

Donovan is a class player and i would like him to come to goodison in January,i just think we should have made our move for him 12-18 months ago

Bez the blue {Ed025's Note - i agree bez...but i think it may have been a money issue!

I don't think it will keep anyone happy, but Kenwright and his spin doctors will try and convice us it will. IMO if we were going to sign Donavon it should have been 18 months ago. {Ed025's Note - your right mate!..

this part of the season is the lull before the storm,we all no wats on the way, weve been ere before, albeit a while ago,its gona be the last six games of season before all the stay away fans come back in time for the alamo,no one will care wat type of football we play, the three points is al that matters, but have we got the characters in are team, you no the barry hornes, lee carsleys, who will stand up and be counted,or will we need another hans saegers to bail us out, {Ed025's Note - i dont think it will come down to that mate....there are still a good few teams who are worse than us, imo we will be bottom half, but not involved in the relegation battle .....well thats my hope!..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hope you dont go down ed but it is concerning , a few bad injuries and you could end up in a dogfight . lets hope bill sells up soon {Ed025's Note - we will be ok, when we start winning again, and find more confidence, we will lift our way out any bother...but cheers..

It's been Rodwells best season for us. I've criticised him more than anyone on here but he's been one of our better players this season (not saying much!)
I don't for one second think Capello will take him to the Euros but it's good that he wants a look at him. {Ed025's Note - he has proved a few people wrong, me included, and without being outstanding, has proved that he can cut it with the big boys..

I think moyes needs to go for a striker thats already good and can already scores and knows the game i reckon we could get berbatov if we soled shietingha and bill qnd the money from the arteta deal.. Any thoughts what about defoe ?
or maybe an overseas striker which wont be as good an idea because theyl need time to settle in i feel we need someone that fits the bill and wil be starting games from the offset. but if we did go for an overseas striker whou would you chose ? id want love or doumbia and elm for cm. ed your thoughts ? {Ed025's Note - i dont think we will have much cash i january..if any!, we are desperate for a forward, and a creative midfielder my picks would be krancjar and berbatov, both who i think will be available on loan..

I have said it for years now when we had lescott & yobo what do you think of us playing 3-5-2, Coleman & baines wingbacks they both got good energy to get fwd, jags, heitinga & distin as cb all comfortable on ball. Any 3 midfielders depending on who we playing I do like fellaini & rodwell together and other having freedom think would suit barkley. Moyes said we haven't invested in strikers and it shows velios has potential but we need to spend any money we got on at least one top striker and with that saha might shine. I don't think we need that much money to invest to challenge top 6

Believable2 Unbelievable2

What do you think ed on this {Ed001's Note - personally I am not a fan of the back 3 system, I feel it offers too much space to be attacked out wide. But, having said that, sometimes you have to play the system that best suits the players at your disposal, rather than the system you like most. Looking at Everton's squad, I have to say a back 3 looks to be the best fit, especially with Coleman and Baines being so good going forward.}

Does anyone else question the Mcfadden substitution Saturday at Newcastle, at that point we were well on top and we were crying out for vellios to add some muscle up front. so we bring on caddie who by his own asdmission Moyes says is not match fit! Sorry but seemed really wrong to me!
Also are our tactics / line ups 451 really predictable these days, how about changing games and going 433 wit Saha vellios and drenthe up front? Just a thought!

Believable2 Unbelievable1

We couldnt play vellios because he pulled a muscle in the warm up

Agree1 Disagree0

Vellios wasn't in the squad! Just shows how much some of our critics actually watch the games! Blue Lee

Awful start to season really needed a good result and performance against newcastle but it wasnt to be and now we have to wait a couple if weeks because of the pointless international break! I would expect us to really kick on now and save our season maximum points over december is a possiblity IF we go at teams and have a bit luck aswell! We are creating alot of chances just not finishing them which shows we are only one player away (natural goal scorer) from really competing for a european spot! Im still looking at a top 10 finish but everybody including moyes needs to start performing!

I see Coleman has been getting a lot of stick of late. Yes, he's not been playing well but there is a reason for that. The lad is a right back who is being played out of position. He's gets stick for missing chances but shooting is not his game. If Hibbert played on the wing he wouldn't score either (but if he did, we'd riot....ha ha). We wouldn't play Saha in goal or Tim Howard up front would we? We're asking for trouble if we play players in positions that mask their strengths and show up their weaknesses.
Seamus can't seem to beat his man as well from a standing start but if he's already sprinting he can take anyone on. Thats why he should be emerging from right back and whipping the ball in. That way, we would have the winger in a better position, filling out the mid-field, or being an extra man in the box. Coleman has the pace and stamina to get back and forth like Baines does. Would be nice to get the right just as dangerous as the left. This kind of symmetry could give us a lot more options with width and stop us going stale.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

The problem at RB is that Hibbert's defending is better than Coleman's. Hibbo though offers nothing whatsoever going forward. After Saturday's game the likes of Hibbo, Heitinga and to a certain extent Neville all need to be shipped out asap

Agree2 Disagree0

Hibbert wouldnt score in a brothel with a fist full of 50s and he wouldnt cross a bridge, who says coleman cnt defend when he aint gettin a chance,he was bought as a rb so either give him a chance or stick him wit the reserves to learn

I know it's good fun keeping tabs on the rumours but how many people mentioned straqualarsi and drenthe in the summer before deadline day?
Moyes keeps his cards close to his chest - probably to stop the likes of copycat Redknapp swooping in first
