If man city or chelsea win the FA cup will that free an extra europa league spot?

Believable1 Unbelievable1

the only way everton will get europe is if other feams slip up and we finish 5th or if chelsea finish fifth and win fa cup

Hi ed have you any idea how season ticket sales are going {Ed025's Note - i dont mate sorry..

Wish people would give Barkley a break, I mean he didn't have a good game against Spurs but he is 19 for gods sake he isn't 26 and in his prime, you lot wanted him to play and then have a go at him when he plays there is no pleasing Evertonians these days, now onto some more positive things, seriously you people still consider Moyes a god? He has done some great business in the market for exemple Cahill, Arteta, Jags etc. Now I know I'm going to get killed for this by everyone on this site but he is a negative manager, managers like Ferguson if they are 1-0 up at half time he will want to increase the lead whereas Moyes will go defensive as soon as we score and this has cost us many points this season, but I'm not being negative!.

COYB!

Believable11 Unbelievable5

Fair enough but would Fergie do the same with our squad? Probably yes DM does not have the luxury of bringing a Kagawa or Rooney of the bench.

What really annoyed me about yesterday was thoughts of what we could achieve with some real hard cash to spend. Moyes can drive me mad at times but he gets nothing to spend. Imagine IF we could add fer, chadli, honda and alderweirald to our existing squad. Oh to have money.

bluepaddy

Believable3 Unbelievable0

How about DM realising the main threat was coming from Walker's pace and therefore putting Oviedo on to neutralise instead of Naismith?

Agree0 Disagree0

Fancy Smith spot on mate I was going mad about that, walker was the main threat last 20 PADDOCKBLUE

Agree0 Disagree0

Walker had been kept quiet the whole game apart from the one time Baines missed his tackle and he crossed for their second. I thought Baines and Osman had dealt with him well.

Sidney the blue

Just another chance to have a go at Naismith I see, (Goodisons new whipping boy) now that Victor is playing well.

baines is poor what aload of bull must be a liverpool fan ed baines is the best left back in the prem is he better than lahm mybe not but come on cole is past it and only looks after number 1. big dunc

Believable5 Unbelievable4

Lahm is a right back, and baines is the best attacking left back in the world by statistics, he's 5th best in the world defensively. Also this season he's created more chances than any other player in any top flight division in europe

Agree0 Disagree0

Lahm actually plays either side. Right back for club and Left back for country. or vice versa

i wonder how long it is before super kev starts with chelsea or man city. not sure honda is a good signing for the team but having him at the club would open the door for investment from japan. big dunc {Ed002's Note - What form do you see this investment taking. Did signing Fellaini bring investment from Belgium?}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

For the same reason Manchester United sign park how many football shirts where sold with park on the back in asia loads and he was a poor player and then they have replaced him with the other guy who looked good in germany but looks avg over here that's what investment am talking about honda is big over there

Agree0 Disagree0

From shirt sales and other merchandise. The Japanese would go crazy if their best player was playing in the premiership.

Pod

Agree0 Disagree0

We have a deal with kitbag. Regardless of how many shirts are sold we get a fixed amount, something like £3m a season over 10 yrs if I'm not mistaken? Only desperate people would go for this kind of deal, tied into a 10 year deal and unable to negotiate better deals and/or terms.

Agree0 Disagree0

If we go for Honda it will be because he is a very good player, nothing else.

Never liked Baines and yesterday proved just how poor he is at defending and Everton fans honestly think he is better than Cole, oh yeah he scores a freekick every year and loads of penalties but he cannot defend and should not be mentioned in the same bracket as players like Lahm, Coentrao and Cole etc. And coleman is just poor everyone needs to stop kissing his **** he has one game against Man City and all of a sudden he is a much improved player, improved at what? He can't defend and is extremely unreliable on the ball in fact apart from Jagielka, Distin, Gibson and Mirallas who is any good? I hope Fellaini goes as he has a big ego and is incredibly lazy and we have no good young players coming through apart from Duffy who isn't even that young and George Green, our team is not good enough for Champions League and won't be unless Kenwright ****** off and stops making up these takeover rumours every week, the bargains we missed out on. Berbatov 3mil! Butland 3mil! But just because Berbatov isn't a workhorse Moyes wouldn't go for him in fact I guarantee you if Messi was a free agent and wanted to join Everton (never happen) Moyes wouldn't bother he would just say 'he doesn't work hard enough' but just trying to stay positive. {Ed025's Note - no name i see....you are obviously a keyboard warrior who delights in trying to tarnish the name of our great club and players, i have posted it to show the guys how many saddo,s we get on here..

Believable2 Unbelievable11

In the 3 years I've been on this site, this has to be the most ridiculous post I have seen. Whoever sent this is chatting complete and utter rubbish. No doubt it's a RS or someone who needs serious help.

BitterBlue

That's what happens when Liverpool draw a blank against west ham. But apparently we're the bitter ones. It must be hard supporting a team that not even queen Kenny can save.

Agree0 Disagree0

Comedy Gold. You should be on stage so people can laugh at you. Jealousy me thinks, because you have enrique, assou-ekotto, cashley? Let's be honest every team would covet Baines unless you have Lahm.

Agree0 Disagree0

Just back from Amsterdam, by any chance? Good stuff over there.

Agree0 Disagree0

We have ivanovic you lot have hibbert, we have cech you lot have howard, we have mata you lot have naismith, we have hazard you lot have oviedo, we have oscar you lot have pienaar we have ba you lot have anichebe and you lot have never won the champions league haha {Ed025's Note - and you lot my friend, are a totally plastic club, with no history or class, and without your oligarch owner, would be battling it out with portsmouth in the championship..

Agree0 Disagree0

Yet for all those players and all that money spent you are only 6 points above us in the league. Wow that's impressive.

Agree0 Disagree0

You lot have Benitez, we don't. thank f**k

Agree0 Disagree0

Nice one ED. A few questions for Chelsea supporters:
How many homegrown players are there in your team?
What is your total wage bill?
In transfer fees how much does your team cost?
How many managers have you had over the past 11 years?
Compare this to Everton and you will see that you are just a bunch of snotty southern snobs.
One last point: you lot have Torres we have Mirrallas ( price difference£45million)
Up yours

Agree0 Disagree0

Interesting to note you compare your expensively assembled first teamers, paid for with money that belongs to the people of Russia rather than your mafioso owner, to our reserves, pienaar and howard excepted. You sound like a spoilt child, my club is richer than yours, blah, blah. It's no wonder you're the most loathed 'fans' in the country

Agree0 Disagree0

Chelsea fanboy how long have you supported them for then? Probably started supporting after the Arse stopped winning you most likely have never been to a game in your life just sit in your house darn sarf waiting for Abramobitch to buy your next money grabber. I can honestly say I don't come on any other site apart from Everton's why do you bother? Get a life.

Interesting stat on ESPN after the game yesterday was that the goals EFC have conceded in the last 5 mins of league games have cost us 7pts!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Joe EFC

And Newcastle at home (although tbf that was the linesman's fault).

As a first time poster and a blue in exile, sitting in the home end, thought you might like to hear what spurs supporters thought of the game. Despite their desperate need for all 3 points the major feeling was relief at salvaging a point against a well respected Everton side. Perhaps also worth noting that vast majority of Spurs supporters would take Davie Moyes in a heartbeat should he become available. If we lose our manager at the end of the season believe we will take several backward steps whoever replaces him

Believable10 Unbelievable5

08 Apr 2013 14:56:00

get of his back he can't win, people asked for him to get a chance so would you write him off after one game. I was at the game all players did good and bad things during the game. we didn't lose and we should have one but a piont at spurs is a good point let's beat qpr and arsenal and see where we go from there. ed how many players do you think we need to have a good strong squad, and how many do you think we will actually sign.
blue daz {Ed025's Note - i think we need five daz...we will probably get three.

Agree0 Disagree0

3 is not enough we need to last the whole season and be prepared for injuries and suspensions we need a quality defender, 2 quality midfielders, 1 quality striker and 1 good squad player.

Agree0 Disagree0

Barkley was played on the left, not his position. Call it the `Naismith syndrome`, players being played out of position and not performing.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 apr 2013 13:16:11
what is mirallas prefered position: answer centre forward

why does mirallas not have naismith syndrome from playing right/ left wing: answer because he is quality.

naismith syndrome is a myth. moyes uses his forwards on the wings only if they have some form of pace: you don't see jelly playing right wing. the season anichebe played right wing for long stints he suffered due to his positioning and inability to create an opening for himself as he does not posess the flair to do so. naismith on the other hand does not posess any crative flair, strength or positional sense to play right wing, just pace, and as a result has been found out time and time again.

i suppose if played up front he would need to play in a front 2 as he would not be able to hold the ball up having no strength against 2 centre backs, which would never happen as moyes tried and tested formation evolves around 4-5-1, moving to a 4-3-3 in the attacking sense

Have not posted in a while so I'll keep it short, everyone on this site is made up with a point at Spurs but for me it felt like a loss and Champions League football is gone now all we can hope for is Europa league and to finish above that lot across the park and for the summer, come on Honda is not going to join Everton he will join a luxary club in France or somewhere like that, we need to win most of our last 7 games but we have Chelsea, Arsenal and liverpool away I cannot see us getting anymore than a point off them and with us likely to lose a home game because of Mr. Negative as our manager I'm not looking forward to it, but you never know! We could shock everyone yet and with a great manager under a small budget leading us it can be only highs in the upcoming years :) so much for keeping it short ay!.

COYB! {Ed025's Note - not very positive there phil..you and mike should form a band mate..

Believable6 Unbelievable3

As long as we keep winning it is not over hopefully a good win against QPR, Arsenal, then were right back in it COYB.

Agree0 Disagree0

Before game

3rd were 6 points ahead

now

3rd 6 points ahead

Agree0 Disagree0

But 3rd should be 4 points ahead but again we dropped points

Agree0 Disagree0

Why do people make it sound so easy we have never won at the Emirates and we won't this season 2-1 to the arse I reckon with us winning up till the 70th minute

Agree0 Disagree0

Bad runs have to end eventually? So why not this season? We are more than good enough to beat Arsenal, so just because of the stadium and the stats, that shouldn't mean that we can't win? A prime example that comes to mind is in Rugby League; Warrington Wolves went something like 10+ years without beating St Helens; that run came to an end a few years back when the Wolves did the double over St Helens. So who says we can't beat Arsenal. Stop being so negative.

Disappointed not to hold on and get all three points yesterday. I though we restricted Spurs to a lot of long range shooting. Great goal from Kevin 'The Belgian Bale' Mirallas yesterday.

Still in with a sniff of the top 4, the Arsenal game is crucial. Still not giving up hope. COYB

Gutted we didn't win that but a point at the lane is a very good point! Vic was fantastic! Only bad I can say about him is that he really should of finished his one on one chance! Hope he continues his good form for the rest of the season!
Team I would play for the remaining games

Howard
Coleman jags distin baines
Mirallas felly Gibson pienaar
Jelavic vic

Moyes has got to go for it now if we want a European football then we have to win most of our remaining games certainly can't afford to lose any or draw too many so moyes has to set out the team to attack I think with felly back along side Gibson will give us a good strong midfield and vic and jelly up top will cause havoc especially if vic is on his game and the way he holds the ball up will help jelly get back to scoring!

I swear you got to laugh at the media they said after our game against Spurs top 4 spot all but over basically no chance for Everton now. Yet the darkside draw nil all at home to west ham and they say there hopes took a blow but not over yet were 3 points ahead of that shower with a game in hand it really is a funny old world.

timmyEFC {Ed025's Note - thats too hard to predict mate..

Believable0 Unbelievable1

We need to win our 3 home games against QPR, Fulham and West Ham as a minimum. As for our 4 away games, Sunderland, Arsenal, Liverpool (no chance) and Chelsea, we need about 7-8 points from them as well as hoping for others to slip up. We must win against Arsenal or it's goodbye Europe. Going to be tight.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well we have 4 games before the mersey derby
qpr (h)
arsenal (a)
sunderland (a)
fulham (H) we need to take at least 8 points from them

lfc have reading (a) chelsea (h) newcastle (a)

spurs have no game this weekend but then have city (h) wigan (a) then chelsea (re arranged game)

arsenal have norwich (h) everton (h)
fulham (a) man u (h)

in my opinion the its still all to play for, we don't fear having to go to arsenal, lfc and chelsea and we should win our home games, we will have felli and peanuts back, plus mirrallas is getting better with each game, 4th/3rd will probably go to the wire and believe me we will give it our very best, coyb

Is anyone certain about European qualification now with Chelsea and Man City in the FA Cup Final. The winner of the FA cup qualifies for Europe by winning the cup but if the winner (and runners up in this case) have already qualified by league position is it only 5th place that gets a Europa spot or it is passed down to 6th as well?

AussieBlue
