The reds are after Nabil Fekir he's only 5'6'' so that makes him a little _____!

The wave of optimism is encouraging. However, I still see some hurdles we need to overcome. Firstly our squad is way too big and way too old. However, whilst we can "get rid" of certain youngsters on relatively small minimal contracts, we have mature established players who will be happy to sit and take the money if we cannot find teams to take them on. I would put Martina, Williams, Bolasie, Jags and Baines in this category and I may have also missed a few. I know the likes of Joel has just completed his current deal so is likely off. That still leaves a few more to find new clubs for and get off the wage bill before we can consider new signings. The heirarchy have said as much as this. Then we have the World Cup coming up and past experience tells us that players tend to wait until after the world cup before seeing which Champions League clubs come in for them. Only then will they consider clubs like Everton. when they know they cannot establish themselves in European competition. All in all it looks like we will struggle with new signings. yet we all know we need some. Even if we don't get new players. the likes of Jags and Baines are too old for regular Premiership football now I feel. Little knocks are harder to shift at their ages. So this new management are going to have their mettle tested and we will see how the optomism continues. I see us struggling and I also see a load of abuse for saying so. I am happy we have the new manager but I hope the ones showing the optimism also show the support for the team if and when we do struggle.

To be fair degs you bring the cririsim onto yourself with your negative posts.
It's fans like you that are holding our club back as even when change is made and we can all Look forward to progressing fans like you want us to fail and it's getting boring mate.

Man U will not let Radhford leave whether we ‘try’ or not. Let’s focus on realistic targets. Plenty of good players out there.

There are some Bluey79 that take the opposite view and that view is that everyone is entitled to their opinion. Is there any wonder that many posters are deserting this HYS. Myself being the latest. Most certainly now, I have permanently had enough.

By eck bring back Sam. At least everyone had a target to get at. Season over and it's a free for all. Let's think positive. New management team, new ideas, new style of playing. New horizons to be scaled.

Degsy and DFS. Do you two not realise that you are the first to have a go at the new set up?

You can go on about hoping others give them time but you are being critical and negative already.

Of course it is going to be difficult in getting and moving players it is for every club. It's always been like that and always will. It's going to take time in seeing the team perform at their best and to get used to the new set up.

You can hang around getting ready to say I told you so but you've both already started.

Just let the rest of us dream a little and do what 99.9% of fans love to do and that's cheer, sing, piss and moan and jump around.

Still not seen one thing said in a positive light by either of you. Try it, you might like it. 😉.

What's wrong with a little optimism yes Rome wasn't built in a day and there will be blips along the way, everyone is entitled to their opinion and it's nice we have this site to vent our frustrations or to show our optimism at how we think that MS and MB will be able to turn us around especially after last season. Yes we need to sell players what team doesn't (besides city though even they will upgrade for next season) we can't keep living in the past we need to embrace new faces and new ideas, yes as fans we pay our hard earned money and say what we want about the team but let's for once get behind everyone at the club now and show them that we support what they are trying to do. It's hard seeing fans already looking at the doom and gloom when MS and MB have only been here a week give them time, and let's wait till that first game on the opening day of the season to see what they have come up with if we lose you can say you told us so but give the guys a chance please.

Fellow blues this is getting a little silly now! How about we give the new guys a chance to work to have some impact and then judge.

Come on lads. I think you are being a bit unfair on degsyp's post.
I think he's right. It's going to be hard to get rid of some of the older higher paid players. The World Cup is going to get in the way of any signings and, yes, some players won't be interested in us because we don't have European football next year.
Please don't take this the wrong way degsyp but I think sometimes people see you posts and think Oh no, here we go again, aging defence and no left sided players but in this post I think you tried your best to bring something different to the table. Yes, aging players were mentioned but only in the context of the difficulty of removing them if they are on well paid contracts. No mention of left footed deficiencies in the squad. Hoorah - its a valid point but wasn't needed in this post.
I think degsyp was trying to be optimistic but cautious and there's nothing wrong with that Good post

To DFS. I see you are leaving the site once again. It's probably one of the longest farewell tours I have seen. I won't lie. I don't like most of your posts. I think they are disingenuous in so much that they talk of supporting Silva but then have snidey little pops at him and still disagree with his appointment. I do agree with you that everyone is entitled to their opinion though and whilst part of me wouldn't be sorry to see the back of you I would say 'stay on the site' but try and understand that we are all 'disappointed' with our showing the last season and probably earlier than that but we love our club and it is on all of us to get behind it once again and focus on the future not the past.

Only just noticed this but the post is the first post from a degsyp3, not degsyp

Is this the same degsyp or someone trying to wind us all up?

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Jun 2018 05:43:39
I don't mind Degsy posts tbh. Bit more pessimistic than most I agree but generally pretty well balanced point of view and backs up his thoughts. I try to enjoy the optimism of what might happen at the club so rarely a thumbs up but at least the posts aren't bitter attacks.

As for DFS, fingers crossed you mean it this time about leaving. Nothing depresses me more than the constant hatred for all things everton that you constantly spout. I'd never advocate anybody leaving such an excellent site but in your case I think we'd have much less doom, gloom and arguments if you weren't here to post.

Agree2 Disagree0

09 Jun 2018 07:10:06
DFS I have no problem with people having a opposite view and on twitter I love having conversations with fans from all different clubs as I like listening to other fans views but you need to practice what you preach if Degs has his own view then I'm entitled to have a view of my own isn't that how it works.

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Jun 2018 07:59:17
Degsy post is the same post he's put up 5 or 6 times just worded slightly differently. He does this time and again. There's elements in it from posts 5 years ago.

I don't have a problem with posting concerns but when there is nothing positive being said or when it's the same point being made over and over again then it becomes tiresome.

Let's show some guts and try and loan or sign Rashford.

A loan would be in all parties interest but couldn't see any chance in signing on a permenant basis. But would need to ensure lookman has time which is hugely important.

Ive had the honour of seeing both him and Maradona live. I always thought Diego was the greatest ever player but I can put Messi right next to him.

The nod I give to Diego is that he could carry a poor team to greatness all by himself but I suppose it's also a different era.

The nod to Messi is down to consistency and longevity. Much more professional and less arrogant but all the skill and decisiveness of an assassin .

Either way I love them both and in awe of how they played the game.

I know the media have a low opinion ablout us but why do they think that Lookman cannot get a game with us but reading over the last few days he would get a game for Spurs, Newcastle and today reading Liverpool! Not sure we have that much strength in depth lol.

I didn't think they would ED02 it's all about click bait buddy any updates on Evertons targets please.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I don't think there is really anything new about transfers right now. A very low bid for Zambo Anguissa was rejected and that will be the end of that. I would be far from surprised if there was an approach to Chelsea for van Ginkel but it may need to wait until PSV say they are not interested.}

09 Jun 2018 16:03:18
Boy, we've missed you and your encyclopedic knowledge Ed002 - great to have you back!

Lets hope the wheels get turning now Brands and Silva have been in their roles for a bit. Understand that it will take a few weeks to assess squad and approach clubs etc.

Just hope the World Cup doesn't get too much in the way.

Good to hear Klassen still wanting to play for Everton. Hopefully he's looking to stay for whole contract and not looking to move else where in the prem. I think he has a lot to give and Everton were crap, even Neymar or Messi would of struggled.
I think he could be quite decent in midfield playing in the right team.
Just look at him for Ajax.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

08 Jun 2018 01:55:38
Agree Mowfee82. You don't become a bad player overnight. He is good at what he does but does need to toughen up a bit to handle prem league.

08 Jun 2018 09:33:01
Think we should give him pre season I'm sure Silva will get the best out of him and as you say dentie you don't become a bad player over night he put in some good performances for Ajax hopefully after abit of decent coaching we will see a different player next season.

I agree Lee. We had to be more physical last season because of our need to fight for results due to low confidence. So Klaassen was a bit of a luxury to have around. So I would hope that a way can be found to put him to good use after of course he has a good pre season.

Could be he was in a better team at Ajax. That usually helps.
