If you seriously think that's what we will get points wise then it's a proper defeatist attitude.I'd have thought we will win a majority of them.

So Roberto Martinez believes we are about to 'explode into success'.
All this as we blues fans sit terrified in the back of his own European Airbus as it starts screaming down to earth.
Hope he throttles up soon as we are about to crash and burn.
Brace. brace. brace!

Watched Hibs today managed by Alan Stubbbs. Great attacking football by his team . Did well with the reserves last season b4 he left for Hibs?? He could be worth a gamble as our next manager with Big Dunc as his no two. I'd rather have De Boer but I don't think we could afford him? What does everyone think?

{Ed025's Note - stubbsy has done well lemur, it might be a bit early in his management career for a club as big as everton though, but he cant do any worse than the fraud mate..

09 Mar 2015 08:46:10
Whilst I appreciate he has done a good job and have often posted against the old player being thrown in, next we will have the Andy Gray for manager vote, but seriously this is a massive ship to sail and the captain has to be up to it, already a the man at the helm touted as a top future manager and has been linked with Barca etc is now steering us into stormy seas and likely to run us aground!

everyone mentions ducan taking over but not unsworth who manged preston twice as caretaker

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i remember unsworth leaving everton for villa bretto, he thought that villa park was just outside warrington, and his geography is better than his management mate..

ed he went to west ham and then villa for a day and then back to everton

watching 1985 cup game v Ipswich this morning, bought back so many memories of the great playing style we had then, how Kendall had moulded the players into that regime. how we could do with sheeds or a Bracewell again, Barry is not fit to lace Reidy's boots, Lukaku could learn so much watching Gray and Sharp, Roberto to could learn so much about the british game from this team and the way they passed it all over the park not just infront of our own box!

Fully agree with you wakka, Barkley could do with watching Bracewell to see how a proper number 10 plays, as could Lukaku with Gray to learn how an Everton number 9 plays.
The whole team could also learn about proper indomitable team spirit and never, ever giving up no matter how many chances you miss or penalties get turned down.
But also our fans could maybe learn how to create a ferocious atmosphere at the Old Lady again.
And as for Sheeds twice taken free kick, well that was just magical.

It's fair to say that barkley has been poor but he needs to played as a number 10 first

I posted months ago about spending last winter in Spain(Oct till March)
Local bar round the corner in Campoverdi,
live games all the time, good food, cheap vino, a bunch of local blues to drink with & the sun shining all the time.
I think this could have been the best 6 months of my life.
AND THEN.
we have this winter at home, crap weather, but this Everton team performances are worse.
It's like I'm being punished & paying penance for having such a good time.
I don't even want to watch our games now, so depressing, even if we score first, you know we won't win.
Mr.Bean just talking complete rubbish before & after ever game. Kenwright gone missing,
no new investor would buy this club, no new ground (don't think there ever was) & what
new players would come under this idiot & his system of playing?
I'm off for my Sunday roast lunch now, bottle of Chablis & a few cigars.
Afternoon on the settee, fall asleep & dream of better days.

I would love Roberto to prove us all wrong and turn things around. I believe he has two games to save his job, kiev & Newcastle. If we are still in the mire then it's time to let our feet do the talking!
Im trying to be positive and think even Winston Churchill had a blip. I would like to see lukaku and Kone upfront to give lukaku more presence in the box. Two wingers (not barkley, naismith) and macarthy and Gibson in the middle.
Roll on Thursday!!

Spot on mate, best post on here for ages, personally I would play Mirallas(Left) & Atsu(Right) as they have the pace to destroy any team.

No matter who is in charge I hope we do well, and if it's him. Then I'll be the first to put my hand up. But I think it will now take a lot to win the fans back, and one season won't do it, as the risk of the next poor season will always hang over us.

He hasn't done enough with the youth to give us confidence that we are just experiencing a 'changing of the guard' year from old to new, as we can't even say that we have blooded any youngsters. It took Garbutt 30 games to get a run, Barkley has gone backwards, we are no closer to having competition for RB, CF, the 2 CB's and natural wingers. The only place we have real competition is in the holding midfielder roles, and he keeps picking Barry over the players who show any form like Besic.

There have been managers that have copped more flack and been sacked for significantly better performances and results than what he is dishing up. But let's face it, he will be there come August. I just hope he is still in the Premier League.

Agreed when we were at our best. 2 wingers plus Baines and Coleman running on. It gave us width and opened the pitch up gave us space in the middle and we destroyed teams. We play to narrow to slow and with fear. Also no passion and that should be a given . Also of they don't wanna play for the fraud. Play for us and the badge. Then we will remember the names on the back for the right reasons

The biggest issue surrounding the performance culture of the team, and why the fans are now on RM's back is the setting if standards. While it is supportive, not acknowledging when we have simply been not good enough and always to looking to outside factors to blame simply tells the team that nothing needs to change, and whatever you did today (which was not good enough to win) is in fact good enough. So as a player, why would I change what I am doing, the boss is happy, why would we rally, it is just luck going against us. Take away all the selection issues, tactics etc etc, the players on the field are better than their league position and performances, but only when they are matching the intensity of their competition, and as fans I don't think we have aren't that. What worries me the most is that all the solutions RM keeps referring to are based on fortune and outside factors, which in any business is a scary sign. In any business strategy I have ever seen, it never says, "keep doing what you're doing and hope for some luck"

{Ed025's Note - thats why he is a fraud bra boy, talks a really good game but cant get the players to produce..

Martinez won successive relegation battles as manager with Wigan Athletic in 2010, 2011 and 2012 before they went down in 2013, days after winning the FA Cup.

"Yes, yes, but I've been down with 36 points and it's very tough to get 36 points in this league, " Martinez said. He was also asked if he thought his style was too pass heavy which slowed us down, his reply was never you can never have to much passing. The point of this is, knowing those stats why the heck did Bill Kenwright hire the man. Those stats indicate that last season was a blip and this season is the norm under Martinez leadership. The bloke even acknowledges he is used to it for gods sake. Bill Kenwright will never be forgiven as the man who hired the man responsible for taking this great club down in over 60 years should it happen. And even if we do not go down Bill has to get rid, because from the stats above we are in for this every season.

Great post DM. It would seem that 36pts is 'tough' this season and that in itself tells us everything we need to know. He makes it sound like reaching this magic number is an achievement. Which it is if done before Xmas.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Mar 2015 11:17:21
DM. Agreed. He has managed to build a myth around his management for the last 5 years where survival meant success! Again, a sub-standard level of success to aim for. When momentum is positive, he took the credit and obviously the players were riding the high of having a new manager with a more expressive style. Maybe they felt a bit unshackled. But this season was his and his alone. Only he could build the momentum from his planning, his training, his culture. And you can see the results. It just scares me to think that he is genuinely happy with th performances, and worse, if he doesn't actually think that, then he is just saying it because he thinks that's what we want to hear.

08 Mar 2015 11:23:40
BTW Ed, I am not sure he does talk a great game. If he did, we wouldn't be giving him the lashing we currently are, because we'd be eating up all the spin he comes out with.

It would be great to know if anyone out there is a supporter and does buy into what he is saying?

Question for Ed:
If the worst was to happen over the next couple of games i.e we were to loose to Kiev & Newcastle our board would surely have to wake up (wouldn't they?)
Who would you like to be brought in?

My choice's would be:
F D Boer - although no Prem experience
S McClaren - seems like he's back to his best
D Ferguson - I'm sure any believer dreams he'd do a great job.

However, and I'll prob take some stick for this but right now I'd 100% take Eddie Howe over the fraud.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed025's Note - my personal choice would be peter reid until the end of the season baz, knows the club inside out and has the experience..

08 Mar 2015 09:10:09
Baz29 sorry for the levity in advance but by D Ferguson I hope to NAAFI Biscuits you mean Duncan and not Darren.

When are we going to get some sort of statmentment from our fast asleep board, sleepwalking into a relegation nightmare, yet still not one word to either reasure, or at least explain their thinking, are they really so stupid as to risk missing out on the new tv deal, the present deal is the only reason we have new found solvancy.
