Nevermind the players getting the message i hope the penny finally drops with Moyes that with TWO strikers on the pitch (after 81mins) hey presto the goals come.If you only play with the one and he ain't firing you don't have to be a rocket scientist to realise your gonna struggle.

Most teams line up 4-2-3-1 these days anyway. The days when most played a flat 4-4-2 are gone.

I must say we were poor most of the game but the ref wasn't helping us one bit as usual! but we stuck at it till the final whistle and Goodison was rocking with a great comeback! fantastic result.
My man of the match was either Coleman who played really well as he got stuck in and gave us another attacking option which was brilliant or Steven Pienaar who showed us that he was worth bringing back with a great header!
Lets focus on keeping 4th with win away at Stoke going to be tough though! COYB

I actually thought the ref was kind of decent. People point to the penalty claim, but to me, that was a ball blasted at the Spurs player at speed and he had his hands down by his sides, had they been in an unusual spot (like the Joe Allen handball penalty against West Ham) then I would agree, but would of been very harsh to give that a penalty.

What does bug me is that last week Fellaini concedes a penalty against Man City for tugging Dzekos shirt at the corner, then you see Caulker wrap his arms around Fellaini and basically holding him back, and nothing, I can accept poor decisions, every makes mistakes, but consistency is something a ref can control.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree Coleman was excellent but Gibson was MOTM for me, his range of passing was outstanding and gets his tackles in all over the pitch. Is Hibbo injured or was he suspended?.Away from home Hibbo might be the better option in defence. Hope Mirallas is ok, would have him on the bench against Stoke if so, to give his Hamstring as much rest as possible. Coyb.

Welcome to the top four Everton (and long may it continue )! I'm a Man Utd fan but i've always had this great admiration for Everton because the way your club conducts itself on and off the pitch is fantastic. I've always said to my friends etc if i didn't support Man United i'd support Everton because you always try your best and your history is earned and not bought unlike clubs such as Chelsea and City. Great result today and I hope your good run can continue as I love seeing Everton do well. Finally, just a special mention for Jelavic. My, my, my you have a player on your hands there. I know he hasn't been as prolific this season as he was the previous one but I don't think he's been getting the service he was last season (I may be wrong). I love his work ethic and his poacher instincts, after today i'm sure he'll be back in the goals and Everton can make a charge for that 3rd place ;) RED ROVER

Cheers Red Rover, and may you continue to win more Premier league titles to go even further in front of the Koppites than you are now

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks first poster, I can't stand the Kopites so I hope our superiority over them lasts for many years to come. They have been second best on Merseyside for a few years now and I just hope Everton can push on and challenge for the title in the next few years as it would be a welcomed breath of fresh air to me. Oh and by the way, just heard your next game is Stoke, it's going to be a hard game but best of luck as i'm sure the Blues will prevail. RED ROVER

Agree0 Disagree0

Will be a very tough test Red Rover, they play anti-football and bully the more technically gifted players all over the pitch as I'm sure you're aware. And they're very direct with most of their players over 6ft. Will be a physical game and if we can match them in that department then we have a good chance of victory.

now i understand the term its not over till the final whistle blows! WOW! what a game! jelavic on the scoresheet and pienaar against the club that nearly killed his career! brilliant stuff!

ed do you know if we are in the list of clubs interested in diame? hes got a clause in his contract meaning if a club bids 3.5 million he can leave and west ham can do nothing about it! if not who are we interested in?

who would you blues like to see come in january?? {Ed003's Note - Diame has torn his hammy today and is facing 3 months out mate}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Diame is quality when fit. Would give good competition to our mid. Degsypulford

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd like to see Forren for a relatively small fee, Odjidja-Ofoe on loan and a striker on loan, maybe a permanent if we can shift Heitinga, and one or two others, Gueye and maybe Vic. I'd be happy with that.

Agree0 Disagree0

How about in the summer then ed? {Ed007's Note - No thanks, I'm married. Ed002 would go mental but thanks for the offer.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Diame has been very good for West Ham. Moyes was interested in Diame in the summer as a free agent, but his wage demands put Everton off, so I don't think we would part with 3.5mil and his wages.

The last time i felt that good in the match was against Man Utd when we beat them on pens.
Please stop moaning at Naismith though, the lads got quality and will come good.

Come on all you Coleman doubters he deserves some credit today. Top performance and deserved man of the match for me. Going forward he gave Spurs all sorts of problems. Great day and fab result - let's push on now
Barrym

Believable12 Unbelievable0

Couldn't agree more more Barry, I've never doubted Coleman's ability, let's be honest he's a steal at what we bought him for. Ok he's not the best defensively but with game time he will learn and adapt, great going forward though.

Would a requellme type of player or him for rest of season be a bad idea osman not upto it any more ste 45

Believable0 Unbelievable10

Last month we were all saying how good Ossie been for us and how good he's playing now - backed up by his Three Lions call up. Now he has a bad game and he's 'not up to it' anymore.

If you're going to say that, wait til the end of the season so you have more games to back it up.

Keith EFC.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ste45 I've always regarded you as one of the 'wiser' posters along with Degsy, Degsypulford, Keith EFC, Kuranjan, ToffeeMike & toffee ace on this site, but I have to admit this post is absolute tripe! Unless it's someone posing to be you which I realistically doubt it is I'm disappointed to say the least. Osman gives 100% every game he plays so to say he's not up to it anymore is beyond me. In fact he's never given anything less than 100%. Thought he had an excellent game today!

Ste45 - you been drinking mate or on the pot!- that has to go down as the most bizzare comment from an Evertonian for decades. The boy has just got a long awaited England call and your slagging him off. He is quality and one of the main Cogs in our team mate!

another great turnaround, unfortunately for me i was not there today to see it, ended up only watching the printed commentary via a website centre, totally biased against us once again, every comment on there was from spurs fans, none from us, typical looking after the small club syndrome.
carry on looking up and dreaming cockneys !

What happened to everyone saying that Jelavic was unhappy and having feuds with teammates and looking to leave?

Looked absolutely over the moon when he scored, celebration was absolutely priceless, shows the team unity we have. Not to mention, the way he came off and emphatically high fived everyone and was embraced by everyone including Moyes on the bench.

Love our team spirit and unity, really is what sets us apart from the other teams in this league. This club truly is special. COYB!!!

Never give up, never surrender. We may not have loads of money, we may have an old stadium, we may have no depth of quality in our squad, we may not have won a trophy for over 15 years, we may suffer poor refereeing decisions...but we're a great & proper football club. I'm so proud to be an Evertonian after the win against Tottenham today. Once a blue, always a blue.

Just finished bottling and labelling my Christmas homebrew. This years batch has been ironically named as 'twisted blue bitter' with a nice picture of prince ruperts tower on the label. And before you all start slating me as a red troll I'm not. I just thought that we get called bitter and twisted so often that I'd put the term to good use. Cheers everyone. 1eyedblue

Do you agree we rely on Fellaini too much ed? Do you think Jelavic's form has been bad due to relying on Felli's goals? I hope not...

ToffeeMike {Ed025's Note - i dont think we do mike...he as been awesome this season, but to say we are a one man team would be well wide of the mark mate, jelly is still working hard for the cause, and does a lot more than just score goals, felli does compliment him, but all strikes have a lull at some time, and this is his...the guy is top notch for me..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Felly is just Awesome. Nothing like him in the league. All the best teams have players "relied upon" too much, so I'm just glad that he has turned out to be such a good player.

If we would have had someone in this form this time last year we would have won the flamin league...
