Right that should put a stop to the calls for Benitez.
He's ruled himself out of the Everton job live on TV.

That’s great news. Never understood that one anyway.

Not sure what you saw on tv, but it’s being reported that he wouldn’t rule managing us out at some point in the future as he’s still got family in Liverpool etc. He also backtracked on his small club jibe. He did say he’s happy with his job and project in China so wouldn’t be rushing back to manage in UK. However he wouldn’t say otherwise would he? Not going to want to upset his current employers.

I’ve got a feeling our new manager is going to be someone from left field and who hasn’t had much of a mention - it’s clear nobody really knows what’s going on as there are so many managers being linked.

If you watched to the end he didn't, he had a lengthy chat about how he can't this season, which will be that he is tied into his present contract. He explained he's a professional manager, never say never and then admitted he was wrong over the little club comment. He should have and meant to say little team. As said by Gingerdan, he has a lot going on in Liverpool. Can and would Everton wait?

From what I have read today I would say he is 'courting' the job at least!

Out of curiosity, a little hypothetical scenario for everyone.

If we can only get 1 win out of our next 3 games, which game would you rather do it in?

Myself, i'd rather get the cup win over Leicester. I know we need points on the board, but i think we will get what we need this season to edge us away from relegation.

It's squeaky bum time atm but i don't really feel like relegation is a serious threat just now. We're sure as hell not getting top 6 so let's push for a route into Europe through a Silverware win.

Points every time, once in the Championship very difficult to get out. Cup competitions come and go. Wigan won the FA Cup look where they are now.

Cup run - we are desperate for a trophy. There is no way we are going down.
But if I was offered league cup and finishing 17th or finishing 8-12th I would take the cup.

Would take the win in the cup and two draws since you didn't mention losses 🤗.

That's a tough one. Naively I think we are too good to go down but we still need points to improve our fragile confidence give us a chance of moving up the table but with Liverpool in the 3rd round of the FA Cup I wouldn't want to go out of a cup we could win if the gods look kindly on us

A bit of a twist on Duncs call. Win at least one of the league games, draw with Leicester in the cup but go through on penalties.

Been saying a while we are too slow in defence with Mina and Keane together. I notice Keane had the quicker Holgate alongside him at the weekend. Just saying!

I agree that there isn't enough pave with Keane and mina, but let's not forget Holgate also started the 3 previous games.3 losses and 9 goals conceded.

If anybody has sky, the Everton documentary Howard's Way is in the sky store for £9.99. I was born in the eighties so didn't get to experience the highs first hand but it's a good watch and brought a year to my eye at the end.
