Hi ed, just wondering how martinez said he would bring in 6-7 players and assuming barry and galloway are two of them, who are the other 4-5, in your opinion or from what you have heard

With Barry signed and Gibson and McCarthy already there, defensive mids sorted. get Rodwell as utility for Centre back and midfield, if he passes a medical. Fer an option also. Need left sided player workhorse to take pressure of Barry and cover for Pienaar. attacking options we need badly. Tello, Bony and a top attacking utility from Newcastle. Should be sorted after that!

Sorry have to disagree about signing Rodwell. We need players that are likely to be able to play 20 plus matches a season and push for a 1st team start. I just can't see Rodwell being that player. We have some good youngsters at would fulfil a similar role so why waste transfer fee and additional wages. I do agree left mid or right mid could do with strengthening and we definitly need a striker. Now that Robbie is back (hopefully he didn't just pop back for the photo shoot with Barry)I hope we will see a strengthening of the suqad before pre season is over.

I agree with you in terms of fitness but that is for the medics. I just think his value as a utility player maybe underestimated. RM could get the best out of a once promising talent and he knows Everton.

whoa whoa whoa, its all well and good saying bobby could get the best and he'd do a job etc but he would pass a medical and remain injured throughout his career regardless who the manager is

Does anyone think mertens would come to us would be nice for some extra skill and pace and seems to gel with mirallas now we have CM sorted with Barry and we have kone back I was thinking a fast young CB to learn from distin, another striker and someone like mertens to add goals from mid field.

seems to gel with mirallas? they don't play together, its one or the other, never in the same team as hazard cannot be dropped, I think he looks good but I doubt he'd come to us and again, in what way does he gel with mirallas?

I know it was one or the other during the world cup. But they have played in the same team for Belgium in the past switching sides and linking up together better than either of them seem to with hazard. Also it might have been paper talk but 12 months ago mirallas said we should try to sign him before he moved clubs.

I think he is too similar to mirallas not that's a bad thing, but doubt he would come anyway.
