I'm delighted that we've got a world cup play off place, but I have to say that Williams was at fault for our goal.
I think his time has come and gone, sorry to say.

{Ed025's Note - im very sorry leinster...for us mate..

As an Irish man i have never been happier to see Williams make a balls up.

It wasn’t his fault. Hennessy put him in trouble with a stupid pass. I know he’s not been good this season but let’s not blame him for everything.

I’m a welsh toffee! Williams was at fault. Hennessy gave him a bad ball but he could have done the thing your taught from the age of 4. If in doubt put it out! He is shambolic. He also walked off straight down the tunnel without clapping the fans. Selfish and supposed to be captain!

It was a bad ball by Hennessy but Williams was caught flat footed and took to long to react and control it. On another note Cruncher. That atmosphere last night was amazing. Fair play to both sets of fans.

Wasn’t at fault? Sod the bad pass to him and his initial error in not getting rid soon enough, I’ve seen tanks move faster and dial up networks react faster than he did to his mistake. Watch him. His positional sense was atrocious and he had no physical ability to deal with it. Awful player.

Hahahamade me laugh that svenny. Dial up networks react faster 😂😂 love it mate.

To be fair Cruncher he did look dejected at the end. The back pass from the keeper was'nt the problem, after losing the ball to Hendrick
he just stood and did nothing. He is not the player that he was last season. or when at Swansea, even the Euros. As I've said he looks as though time has caught up with him.
Also commiserations on not qualifying, to be honest I feel the better team lost.

With a bit of luck after yet another awful mistake Williams will gracefully retire from international football. By that I mean football in any country anywhere any format.

{Ed025's Note - lets hope so svenny, how many times do you have to get punched in the face before you learn to duck koeman?..

It's sad that it just hasn't worked for him since he joined. He was decent for Swansea and Wales in the euro's but age seems to have caught up with him, looks half the player that he was. I'd like to see Holgate get more game time and experience or add a cb to the January wish list.

See the echo are reporting we are tryin to bring onyekuru back in january. Anyone heard any more on this. Hows he been playing, can't say i'm an avid follower of the belgian league.

Scored 4 goals in 8 games according to UEFA. com.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - All in Onyekuru has managed to score 5 goals in 12 games for Anderlecht. He was pretty average against Celtic in the CL the other week and looked like he's miles off being ready for the EPL.
I don't see how he would qualify for a work permit so soon after being turned down either but I'm no expert on that stuff.}

Think if he is to come back in January they are looking at an exceptional talent thing they do. Man city did it with a couple of players and surprisingly we did with Funes mori.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - But what's changed in 6 months, they could have used the exceptional talent thing in the summer? I know it's easier to use it to get players to Scotland than England, we done it with Wanyama and a couple of recent signings and when Onyekuru turned us down for Everton Ed002 said he would need to go out on loan from an English team but would have qualified to play for Celtic.
I better be right there or Ed002 will be giving me a spanked bum!}

Cheers lads.

ed007, I don't think the club had any urgency to get him in 6 months ago as they courted Giroud and brought in Sandro. They probably believed keeping him at Anderlecht for a season would be good for both parties. Now it is a case of needing another outlet up front as we aren't really scoring too many and the lad is hitting the net in Belgium. I suppose it's worth a go of using the exceptional talent route just to give us some extra fire power. Question is, if we successfully bring him to Goodison in January, will the club still be trying to buy another forward?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - What I'm asking is if he wouldn't have got a work permit under the exceptional talent rules in the summer - any English team signing him would have had to loan him out to a European side - so what's changed that he would qualify for one in January only 6 months later?
I'm not questioning Everton's needs in the or anything like that mate, I'm questioning if the story in the Echo is true?}

10 Oct 2017 19:36:45
sorry ed, should have said maybe they didn't go down the exceptional talent when they bought him, for the reasons I mentioned. Wouldn't be in the least bit surprised if it wasn't true! Cheers for the reply.

{Ed007's Note - No worries mate.}

Interesting read as always, Ed. Nice to see an honorary, though unexpected, mention for Tom. I agree that he's not got the platform to shine so far this year but has the potential to be world class.

Agree4 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I really like the lad, I just find it bizarre how he is being used. Watching Everton with Davies in is a totally different thing from watching Everton without him. You look more of a team when he plays and very few players can make that much difference to their team. It is odd that Koeman will not just go with him, but his treatment of him and Lookman does go a long way to explain why Southampton were so happy to be rid of him and made no attempt to persuade him to stay when Everton came in. Hopefully in a few years Davies will be in the list on pure merit.}

Agree with all that, Ed. Sad but true.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - cheers mate. Still, it is a step forward from Martinez!}
