Don't know what goes on behind closed doors but we have to do all we can to keep Lookman in terms of his talent imo.
Bit of an enigma Lookman as I don't think anybody really knows his best position. For me it's centrally, just behind/ around the striker.
His ability to burst forward with the ball and skip past 2-3 players is second to none and I don't think we have anybody else at the club who can do that.
Siggy is obvs important but for me aside from his goals he holds us back a little bit imo. Plus he's not getting any younger
Lookman could and probably will be a top top talent with 12 months of regular game time In the prem.
I just hope it's for us and not the Saints ect.

Siggy holds us back? Not sure about that sirloin is one of our best players in my opinion.
Lookman hasn’t done anything in the 2 years or so that we’ve had him to suggest he’s worth starting at the mo. 3 managers haven’t started him regularly for us so as I’ve previously mentioned something not quite right.
Would love it if he develops into a top talent but at the mo not looking likely for that happening with us.

In a sense saying Siggy holds us back seems daft but I feel his lack of pace and ability to drive forward with the ball holds us back sometimes on the counter.
His finishing and long shots often counter that but I think on the whole if we can get someone else in that position who can add speed to are counter attacks it would be better in the long run.
That’s not to say I’m suggesting we get rid of him but it would be good to have a speedy alternative in the 10 role imo.

I agree with you Sir Loin, he's just not dynamic enough for me in that role. If one of his teammates can give him the ball with a bit of space to work in, then he's great at capitalising on that, but he can be a bit too static waiting for the pass and so is easily marked. I thought lot of our attacking play seemed to peter out when he got on the ball last season.
