We have signed Gomes, delph, gbamin and kean (hopefully) , some real quality players, I remember the days of the best we coukd hope for was signing a good player well past there best ie gascoigne, ginola, Mark Hughes etc. It's great to see us attracting players in there prime or genuine potential world class talents. We are literally I woukd say 2 players short of a team to challenge top 4. Team not squad though.

{Ed025's Note - we are definitely moving in the right direction nilsatis..

Agree0 Disagree0

Silva will have no excuses now.

02 Aug 2019 23:12:25
DC is that the best you can do? 😂😂😂.

03 Aug 2019 07:25:46
DC is right though woburnblue.

{Ed025's Note - i dont think he is skylark, its as though some people want him to fail just so they can say "i told you so", i think he has improved our style and we should all be backing him and looking forward to what could be a great season for the blues mate..

03 Aug 2019 07:50:30
All good signings and with the new ground and the best fans in the world to fill it. Who wouldn't want to sign for this fantastic club so bring on the new season COYBs.

{Ed025's Note - absolutely mate..

Cant see why there is a problem with Marco between some fans. I see the " he got hull relegated" rubbish, but they forget he won stuff in other countries. It's not like he was in charge of man city and got them relegated. Some need to give the guy a break and stop moaning. He's building a really good squad and fans should be excited with what could probably happen with our club, not sitting at home hoping he fails.

{Ed025's Note - i could not agree more dentie mate..

It would be great if we could get some continuity going, for the fans as well as the team. (Although the pessimist in me is worrying a little bit about "2nd album" syndrome! ) I do think that we fans need to be patient, to begin with, this season. We will have new players to bed in in pivotal postitions and so shouldn't expect things to click straight away.

03 Aug 2019 09:03:07
We need patience with Silva. Last season after a couple of poor results people were on here calling for his head. Thankfully they were left with egg on their face.

It will be the same again this year though, people will be waiting to get the knives out.

The assessment needs to come next May when we see if we are closer to the top 6/ 4 than we were the season gone. It is all about progression, we aren't just going to show up in August as a top 4 team.

Silva has us playing the right style and has progressed us, let's hope he keeps progressing us.

03 Aug 2019 09:52:29
I really didn't want Silva to be appointed as manager but I am glad he is our manager now. A lot of work was done last season to put us in position to have a successful season this season if the tight transfers could be done, which it seems they are. Brands is a gift from the gods.

03 Aug 2019 10:29:15
We all want Silva to succeed but can he do it? We will see. Despite all the Money spent in the Moshiri era we did better under Moyes.
Ok we might play some pretty football but that is not enough for me. The players have to bed in yes but by Christmas we should have a good idea about weather Silva can produce a winning team or at least a team that can challenge.

03 Aug 2019 11:15:04
Exactly DC.

03 Aug 2019 12:30:00
We done better with Moyes as the league was less competitive back then. Let's stop living in the past and actually look ahead to the bright future the club are in the process of trying to build.

03 Aug 2019 13:16:19
The other thing to take into account with Moyes' era was that his successful seasons happened precisely because our chairman didn't bin him after a bad season.

03 Aug 2019 13:25:59
A load of tripe from the regular moaning p*****! I totally get that we, as fans, are all entitled to their own opinions but some of you really take it to stupid levels. I mean, how can you compare one season of Marco to the Moyes years? Ridiculous. I think we have a number of trolls on our pages on this site and they continue to spout utter rubbish just to get a reaction. There's one a few posts above who has been saying the same old boring things since Silva was given the job, give it a rest! A week away from the start of the new season, still players to be brought into the squad, some still to leave, this should be an exciting time yet some of you manage to dampen the mood with just one sentence.

It's sad that supposedly supporters of EFC can't get behind the team. It's np good DC and BCT say we all want Everton to succeed and then continue to run down the current management, whether it be at ownership/ director level or at team level. We are fortunate to have an owner that is willing to invest in the team and a new ground. We are fortunate that Brands is working his miracles on the squad and we are fortunate that Silva is turning around a team that played utter dross under Martinez, under Koeman, under Allardyce into an attractive, dynamic force.

Unfortunately we have a couple of arm chair critics who think they can do better. Not sure why because they haven't even managed a subuteo team, let alone proper players. If we do well they will begrudgingly say it was what they wanted but really they sit there in a dark corner wishing their team does badly so they can say I Told you So.

They are entitled to their opinions but I just feel sorry for them.

03 Aug 2019 19:30:35
What did Moyes win in 11 years?

04 Aug 2019 09:40:50
He won nothing BJU, in my opinion he deserved all the credit he got, (and boy did he get credit) but he also he also shouldn’t be immune to criticism also for a few things I. e. the Wembley Semi against Liverpool, the Richard Wright is going to be the next long term England keeper, the way he left us etc. Martinez got us all believing again, and took us away from the ‘plucky Everton’ mentality then seem to lose the plot, Koeman and SA the less we say the better. now Silva and Brands are slowly but surely starting to put something together that I think is showing signs of excitement. my only negative is the lack of class striker they have yet to bring in but that my friends is easier said than done!
