Game 1 of the new season away to a team that has a +£80m player that is so good we were prepared to "prostitute" ourselves to buy, in extremely difficult weather conditions with our new signings barely had a chance to train and then losing our key midfield playmaker and going down to 10 men and we come away with a point. possession was ours and we were the better team so 3 points should have been ours but given the above a draw is a result for me.

It was the first game of the season
We didn't see much of the new signings - Gbamin one half and Kean a 20 minute cameo
Defensively we were fairly sound but gave a couple of chances that we had to be grateful to Pickford for saving
Midfield was 'OK' although Siggy was very quiet, Gomes had to go of injured and Scheiderlin was stupid for his first booking and even more stupid for diving in when booked and getting sent off
Attack - Bernard and Richarlison OK. DCL good hold up play but no real cutting edge from any of them which has been our problem for a while now. Crystal Palace although not having our possession edged us in clear cut chances in my opinion.
Next week Gbamin will probably start with Schids suspended and not sure on extent of Gomes injury. I think Kean will also start and we will look at getting Iwobi into the side
It was not the start we wanted. Although a draw away from home isn't a bad result, we have lost points we could have obtained with better finishing.
Please - This is a discussion site and we all want to see differing opinions but the constant negativity of a couple of so called supporters is quite frankly disappointing. I wish we could all be constructive in any criticisms of the club, management and players.
I hope we all want the same thing, a successful Everton, but it's difficult to see it sometimes

It must be difficult when some have had to wait a couple of months to slate Silva.
Under the circumstances the draw was a reasonable result.
Richarlison will get up to speed and Siggy and Bernard will improve.
Onwards and upwards.

Listened to the game in work and we sounded woeful but after watching it not to bad a performance deserved a win in my opinion just looked a little rusty in key moments very dissapointed in sniderlin though should now better God I love this club coyb plus side thought mina was one off r stand out players.

If the defence is sound which it looks like it is then we can sort the attack with the new signings coming in.

Think if Iwobi can produce on the left the way he has against us in the past then Iwobi, Kean, Richarlison, with Bernard behind as the 10 (Siggy has his off days) , would work.
