Poor result today. I'm a fan of Silva but felt we were late in our substitutions today. Howe brought on Fraser first and benefited from it. We reacted but it was too late

I think if we had made the first changes we would have been on the front foot instead of chasing a game that had got away from us.

Points lost needlessly.

I’m not a Silva fan but I recognise we need to give him a chance.
I think Sigi has to hit the back of the net to start taking pressure off Silva and the team.

The real problem I see is that we don’t seem to have improved despite all the investment - let’s face it we have had a really good run of fixtures - villa, bornmouth, palace, wolves, and Watford plus shef Utd next week - couldn’t have picked a better start really

I think we are a better team on paper but not getting the results or performance which I think ultimately will cost him his job.

I do feel a little sorry for him that he asked for a centre half as a priority - 2 goals today were clear centre half problems.

I don't think a centre half is the problem tbh. Yes Keane is awful and yes we needed another one.

But it's not even defensively that's the issue, it's going forward. Nice pretty passes in the middle, eventually we get bored, play it out wide, cross it in, lose the ball, rinse and repeat.

We either need to go 2 upfront or have a flat 4-3-3 and get Iwobi and Richarlison right next to Kean.

But no, Roberto will play 4-2-3-1 against Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday all the way up until he eventually gets sacked. Same predictable lineup and boring tactics every game.

We need a winner in charge or at least a young manager who has managed good teams. But once Silva is gone I suspect we will get Howe, Dyche or Arteta. Same old Everton, we aren't getting top six and that should be enough go get rid at the end of the season. We will probably win more home games than we lose, will probably only win 2 or 3 away from home and will get flattened by all the top six home and away. Prepare for a long horrible season lads. This will make Allardyces season look like our title winning sides.

The three goals we conceded were very poor. We seemed to be lacking pace too as we were fouling a lot because they were getting goal side of us too easily. I’m not sure what Schneiderlin does also, he just seems to try to make tackles but fouls instead and never passes forward which is a big problem because he occupies space in front of our back four.

And even though we press, we can’t seem to do anything with the turnover ball in such a dangerous area. We should have punished Bournemouth for the amount of mistakes we forced them into. In all I thought the defence was lamentable, the midfield sloppy and the forwards pretty much impotent.

Sorry it’s a bit negative, I’m just reflecting my mood after a really bad performance.

It has been the same every single away game in the league this season, lone striker, we changed it against Lincoln, attacked and scored 4, same again against Wolves and another 3 goals and decent performance.

As long as Silva sticks with the one up top for away games, we will keep on getting rolled over.

If it works at home then why not away.

Really hate saying this but our neighbours fear no one, they play to their strengths and let the opponents worry, how many times do you see them rubbish themselves away, never because they stick to the strongest tactics and formation week in week out.

Bourmouth, Palace and Villa away and we go over cautious.

Fair play forced injury, but why change a winning team and tactics.

Lots of money spent but same mess as last season, Silva depresses me so much and watching him sulking on the bench is so annoying.
Even his coaches did not sit by him.
He has zero motivation skills, no plan B and no tactical knowledge, why do fans support this failure and con merchant.

16 Sep 2019 01:37:08
Because we beat Wolves and Lincoln mate. That's all that matters apparently.

No plan B really is the problem. Even though DCl scored I thought he offered nothing. He works hard in defence but not in attack. He doesn't make runs, just seems to make sure he holds line with the last defender. All the possession we had and no end product as usual. He needs to be kept away from the starting 11 imo.

I don't get this 4. 2. 3. 1 system it's never going to work without gomez, I know he has his doubters but can make things happen. As for scnerderlin needs dropping for davis, both Davis and delph have heart and drive. And dcl and Touson might have benefited from playing next to each other. If sigs ain't doing it play bernard there give him a kick up the arse. Howe and his players knew what team and what way they would play would turn up, we have all these options up front we should be using them.
