I did say that villa away and Bournemouth away are the kind games we need to win if we are serious about top 6 and we have taken nothing, we beat a wolves side that will struggle with Europe, Delph is a class act and has made huge impact on this team but it's not enough when others don't perform.

Agree1 Disagree1

The two teams we have beat sit 19th and 20th. Villa's only points (3) came against us and they sit 18th. Silva has zero CV in the Prem. We have I believe an excellent DoF with very good contacts, we need an equivalent Coach/ Manager to take advantage of that support.

Of course beating Chelsea, Arsenal and United towards the end of last season counts for nothing then. It’s a bit unfair on our coach to leave those statistics out.

I’m not happy with the progress so far this season either, but come on, a bit of balance please.

We have had Martinez, Ronnie, Sam and Silva, the problem is the players mentality, get rid of Silva and the problem is still here.

It seems as long as we finished 8th or thereabouts, then the people at our club are happy.

It is time to give Tosun a run out alongside another striker, bring in Davies to shore up the midfield and stop keep selecting Schnids and Walcott.

Not sure if you all know but Calvert Lewin was a midfielder drafted into a strikers role by his manager at Sheffield Utd.

Maybe it is time to try him there.

Toffee yes beating Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal counts for nothing. You said it yourself, that was 'last season'. Spent a fortune last season and you all said that still wasn't Silva's team. Well he has spent yet another fortune this pre-season, easiest start we have had and yet after 5 games look who we have beat (bottom two in the league) , beaten by Villa 1 pt last night but their previous only 3 pts against us, they are 4th from bottom. Silva no CV in the Prem, yet here for the long haul! 8th last season and not looking good after yes only 5 games. This is no longer a blip. Supposed to be a man manager, against Bournmouth sat on the bench sulking, that right there was appalling. No doubt we will beat Sheffield United and GB and the rest will hail him as the Messiah. Before the abuse and insults start flying again, you have to divorce your thinking away from the personal and understand the criticism is not the man but it really is the position/ job he does.

I understand what you are saying bct but at the end of the day it is still 11 men vs 11 men. There are no such things as easy games in our league. Just because you spend 40 million on a player doesn't mean he is wonderful. That is Just what the market us and what selling club wants. You can buy a brand new house and have teething problems.
Football still has aspects of luck. The roll of the ball, a deflection.
I do think we may need change of formation, experimentation. Try new things. Everyone knows we play 4231 and we can't defend set pieces and how we attack. Some thing needs to give. Hopefully Silva will learn, otherwise fans will force him out (won't be chairman, I don't think) and we will be rebuilding again. Hopefully we get the right man next time. Someone to galvanize all the fans.

Bill. Nothing personal and I’m certainly not one to blindly hail Silva as the next Royle or Kendall. I just think your post Lacked balance. I enjoy reading them. Just don’t agree with this one.
