So Silva has come out and said we aren't having a bad season because teams like Chelsea, Arsenal and Man Utd are only a point ahead.
I'd like to remind people Chelsea and Utd have played each other as well as Leicester. Arsenal have played Liverpool and Spurs.
We have not played a single team expected to finish in the top ten. Haven't won an away game and haven't looked impressive in any match so far.
The ridiculous interviews are starting now, won't be long before we are 14th and he's saying "well we are 5 points behind West Ham but we have our philosophy and belief in our character".

I half agree with you Swan but we are also picking points up whilst not playing well which is something.
The key to success this season will be whether we can improve as the games go on and get some wins against the top 6 and also away.
I don't like looking at the league until at least 8 games in when every one has settled down.
Ultimately I will be looking at us getting a minimum of 8 points more than last season regardless of league position, that will be the sign we are progressing.

Love your positivity swan. Dc and the Silva out brigade are growing in numbers. What have we played, 5 games and we in the top 10. Ok, we haven't played any of the big guns but no easy games in our league. Look at Southampton, they done pretty well, drew with utd and love their manager but got turned over by Bournemouth last night. Teams are going to beat each other even the top ones. Only Liverpool and maybe city will go clear again.
Chelsea got stuffed by Utd but bounced back but drew with Leicester. I think looking at the teams this season, we can take points off Utd, Chelsea and arsenal. Maybe even spurs depending on iftl they turn up or not.
In order to get these points we need Silva to learn and adapt and stop this one dimensional approach we have where it is 4231, with no exceptions and pretty poor timing of substitutions.
He needs to out a rocket up some arses or drop people and get us fighting for every ball. Need players shouting at each other to get in right positions. Coleman if he plays need to do more to organise the team or give pickford captaincy. He loves screaming at people.

Whilst I share your frustration in our current position in the league having lost to 2 teams we’d have expected to beat for you to say we haven’t looked impressive in any match so far is somewhat laughable. The results haven’t gone our way but what I’ve seen on the pitch is far more impressive than I saw last season. It’s frustrating we haven’t got more points but the way the team are playing particularly in attaching sense it’s surely only a matter of time before the results improve.

We might have been better playing the top6 contenders sooner, didn’t we beat Arsenal Chelsea and Utd towards the end of the season? All at home, we need to improve our away as it’s been terrible for far too long.

Yeah. Away form is pretty shocking. We need to win all if not most of our home games and try to pick up some points away. May sound strange but I feel we play better against top teams (maybe not results wise) . This may be because they attack more and we can use our pace on the counter. Kinda like way we did against wolves. We kinda struggle against teams who sit back a bit, like villa and palace.

Being shocking away from home is nothing new, we haven't won enough on the road under the last four managers. It's Silva's job to rectify this but let's not pretend this has only happened on his watch.

Bluepotato, the fella isn't up to it, all the evidence is there. I really am genuinely intrigued as to the reason why he was A. Pursued B. Employed and C. Defended. The man may well be very personable and genuine (doesnt come across as such) but that is not the point.

Billscroc, I never said he is up to anything. Just pointing out that our away form has been woeful at best for many years now.
