When we win all the Silva lovers ask where the Siva out brigade are well there are plenty on here today but where are all the Silva lovers today I would love to know if you have anything good to say about him today.

Agree0 Disagree0

I am no lover of Silva Skylark ( if that is your real name ) but I certainly don't want us to sack him mate . That just sends us back a couple of seasons . Just listen to yourselves, we've played 6 games . We are way behind where we should be that's obvious but we are 3 pts from European qualification. This is not the time to panic.

But what do you see in him? If you see nothing it's not worth having him as our manager what's the point? We have to look at the chairman for the mess we are in.

I haven't seen anything that warranted him getting the Everton job while at Hull or Watford. Obviously the only opinion that matters is Moshiri's and he obviously has and does see something. We have to get behind him rather than add pressure and tension on the players with protests . All successful managers have been given time . I don't think Moyes is anything special but he did a great job with no money because he was given time . That's how I see it.

I don’t care who are Silva lovers or haters, that’s all a load of crap to me. I do care about results. I also care that the team puts in 100%. That didn’t happen yesterday and the manager needs to address that. And as this position is the most precarious in the game then he needs to sort that soon enough or lose his job. If he bring results then he gets my support. That’s my role as a fan. If he doesn’t get results then he doesn’t get my support for the very same reason.

So as a result of this I post my feelings which as my wife will tell you are completely governed by how Everton did on the weekend. Right now I am down. If they win on Tuesday I’ll be up, and Mrs ace will be talking to me again because I won’t be shouting at the dog for walking on the cracks in the pavement.

So I don’t fall into a category decided by my affiliation to a manager. But I do fall into the category of “please win on Tuesday so that we can possibly win this cup that we can’t ever get close to”.

Super ace. My thoughts exactly.

I'm not a lover of any manager. I support Everton. For me we've not had a GREAT manager since Royle. Moyes was a complete failure who had 11 years to win a game against the big teams away and failed, never mind to win a trophy.

Silva has a good philosophy and has the right ideas. However, he showed he was weak for the 1st time on Saturday.

I believe if he stays calm and is strong with what he thinks is his best team then he can still turn this around. After all he did last year in more difficult circumstances.

But he needs to make a call on Coleman and Sig. Otherwise he won't have many other opportunities.

A good philosophy and the right ideas? He plays a formation that doesn't suit the players, we play terrible football and he continues every week to make us worse.

22 Sep 2019 22:01:26
Swan I kinda agree with blue John on a lot of what he says. We not involved in training so don't see what goes on every day, so how can you say the formation doesn't fit the players?
We play some decent football, stats from yesterday showed we battered them and we not getting worse or we would have no points.
Everyone will agree we had 2 bad games in a row. If it gets up to 5 bad games then it will be hard for him to stay but for now we got to get behind the team (not Silva if you don't want to) midweek to get through tough cup game away.

22 Sep 2019 23:03:56
I never hear the alternatives from people like you Swan. It's always he must go. When the next guy comes in you'll do exactly the same.

Tell me what formation suits these players? Share the wisdom.

Think it’s quite harsh to refer to Moyes as a failure. I remember us being relegation fodder for most of the 90’s and improving markedly under Moyes to a team performing in the top half.

I don’t hate Silva like some do on here. We could sack him after 6 games but I can’t see who would replace him at this time. It’s worthless listing off potential names when they have not shown interest in the job. We have to realise: we are not an attractive proposition anymore. No European football, no decent cup runs recently, high manager turnover, ageing stadium (which is hopefully changing) , not winning games, troubled squad. who would want to come sort all that out knowing they could be on their way within a year?

We ended up with Alladyce last time we did this. I’m one for giving Silva a chance as long as he learns from his mistakes, starting with why we aren’t converting chances.

I’m sorry BlueJohnUns but your ‘Moyes was a complete failure’ comment is absolute garbage. Like him or hate him (for the way he left) he had us playing some excellent football a lot of the time and kept us in a decent position with very very little to spend, he also boasts our highest league position finish in how many years!?! I were 15 when we won the fa cup in 96 which was a great triumph and a date I’ll remember for the rest of my life but did that really make Joe Royal ‘a GREAT manager’. Is Martinez a great manager for winning the fa cup? Yes he won us our most recent trophy but from what I can remember he was no Howard Kendall mate, we finished in the bottom half on a few occasions under Royal. I did (pre Keoman) but now don’t want him back but David Moyes done a very good job if you review what he done over the 11 years he was here.

In the context of winning stuff Moyes failed. In the context of saving us, he succeeded. If we win on Tuesday and get our strikers scoring then we could see some improvement starting. Football sadly is that fickle. I don’t doubt that Silva is a good coach. Too many players who have worked with him sing his praises. The burning question is will he bring us top six or silverware or both?

Only time will tell, which he will need to buy with a swift turn around in performances. Wednesday on Tuesday (that sounds confusing) is a must win for him with City coming up which is a free hit for all but a few teams in this league. After that it becomes very serious for him.

The sooner Silvas gone the better. For some reason the fans know this before the people upstairs, always, it’s shocking. He should have been sacked Sunday morning. We’re talking about ‘if we win against Sheffield Wednesday’ tomorrow when we should have all the confidence in the world going into that game especially with how the fixtures panned out for us this season. I hate to say it (and won’t be) but if I was a neutral I’d be lumping on Wednesday to win against us this week, if I was a bookie I’d be making them favourites. I really hope I’m wrong but I’ll be surprised if we get any sort of result in the cup and well City’s quite obviously going to be embarrassing.
