2nd, 6th, 8th, 4th and 4th.

These probably don't mean much to Evertonians but the the first 2 are brendan Rodgers last two finishes with Liverpool. The other three are Klopps first three league positions.

Patience is needed with the Everton fans and Marco should get until the end of this season at least to show the fans he is turning the corner with Everton.
Last season we finished with the 4th most clean sheets and 1st for chances created.
That at least shows we have something in this manager that can propel us up the league. Can he conjure it up for a full season?
Well if he can, we could do very well, very well indeed.
Klopp needed time, and so does Marco.

If Everton do change manager then it will be Brands who has the biggest say in who gets the job, and like his signings, it won't be the obvious choice that he employs.

So those out there who think Benitez or Mourhino are going to rock up to Goodison Park, forget it. It isn't going to happen.
Be careful what you wish for, because we might already have it but just don't know it yet.

Klopp had to adapt players to a whole new style or play on top of shipping out garbage. Silva has too, the differences are

Klopp joined halfway through in the season they finished 8th. Second season had them 4th whilst still not having his players or style fully in play yet. There were signs in his FIRST SEASON that something special was being built there.

Here? Nah there's nothing.

He will have until January then the end of the season if we’re not in immediate danger. I’m not quick to call for his head but I understand those who are. He’s not managed to carry last seasons form into this one. That’s a setback. But the new signings need time and a few tweaks are needed.

I was around for the Kendall days so I am very careful not to be impatient for success having seen him literally one result away from the taxi call. Having said that, if there is better out there who can get us where we all want to be then I want them at our club.

Don't we all Toffee ace but who is out there?

The names bandied about are far above us in stature but some on here expect them to snap us up.
At best we will get a manager on a par with Silva. He may be a better fit but, he may be a lot worse.

That’s another thing that drives my patience Smit. The alternatives to Silva don’t inspire me. I’m just going to go with it for now and accept some more bedding in, in the hope that we get another run like last season but early enough for it to show an improvement on last seasons position.

Seen a stat before the game yesterday in one of the papers that was quite surprising. If we had beaten City then Silva's win percentage would have risen to 43%, second only to Howard Kendall.
I know stats are deceiving, and that Howard had a lot more games during his time (s) as manager, but this even surprised me! Make of the info what you will, I just thought I'd share it on here.

I’m glad you did blue’. It’s a very interesting stat mate.

Swan. Klopp joined at the start of October and before selling Coutinho his spend was very high.
He could spend quicker and clear the lines quicker than us whilst also having a better standard throughout the squad.

We're the last 4 months of last season not signs that we are moving forward?
4th best clean sheets and top of the league for chances created?

Silvas problem is we paid a lot of money for Siggy, so no matter what, he will not drop the guy, same with Walcott, he just cannot resist bringing the guy off the bench, same with Schnids and Pickford, all seem undroppable.

Now before I get any flak from Pickford, I personally think he needs a kick up the backside and show he’s not an automatic choice.

Silva needs to pick players in form, if their form dips, they get dropped.

Until that happens, we will carry on struggling.

Top of the leagues for chances created and where are we in the league that matters?

Oh, 15th.

No the last 4 months were not a sign that we improved as a whole, that was just a bit better than the 2 months before in which we were one of the worst sides in the league.

No Swan it was an improvement full stop. We beat Chelsea, Arsenal and United, drew with Liverpool but lost to the league winners. That’s an improvement on anything for the previous 15 years. Our record then but for a few games overall was poor against the top teams but last season they genuinely feared us and if the poor winter was a bit shorter then we would be looking at a higher position.

Let’s be fair in our criticism of Silva. He deserves our criticism when we are poor and gets it in spades. But when we are good, don’t deprive what is fair and deserving.
