I don't watch the U23 really but here Lewis Gibson is highly rated, his contract runs out in 2020. Question is are we trying to sign him longer term? Should we sign him long term? and does he want to sign up?

A mate of mine who is a huge Newcastle fan says there is a lot of talk of him returning there as gibson is good mates with one of the longstaff boys and also as Beardsley has left. Am guessing there must’ve been some falling out between Gibson and Beardsley
Separately I heard a couple of foreign clubs had shown an interest.

Cheers dude.

Surely we should be looking to keep him with us not being strong in the CB positions, he has a promising future and if we let him go we could end up regretting it.

he is the real deal. (a reason he was bought for 5 million at the tender age of 16) highly thought of by everton and will no doubtly be trying to sign him up for longer, as he's also a left footer. natural quality and could easily be a premier league centre back, however feel he will be leaving end of the season as chances at us look hard to come by (he feels he's eady for first team football now)

That's what I was thinking from the reports I have read, we shall see I suppose.

I'd hate to be in Gibson's dilemma if you think about it his only chance would be an injury which we really don't need right now, then he would be behind Keane who is dreadful without a decent player besides him, we know that on this site so guarantee every other team does. I don't blame him weighing up other options. Anybody in his position would.

Personally I hope he doesn’t go.

hes left footed and quick, ideally a perfect partner for mina (although don't get me wrong its impossible to drop holgate right now) but for obvious reasons silva won't be putting gibson on the bench ahead of keane anytime soon.

I had a good luck at Gibson when we played Crewe last week, he has a really good build for a youngster, powerful, quick and looks the real deal, but I am sure the talent spotters at Everton appreciate his potential.

I watched a couple of games last year and Gibson did stick out. I'd heard all the talk about Feeney but, as good as he was, Gibson seemed more suited physically, if that makes sense? For me, there were only two players that I'd say were ready, the other being Bowler who is now on loan at Hull.
Two games isn't really enough to get a proper indication of whether they are ready, hopefully they have progressed further and we will see them come through to the first team soon enough.

gibson will be a premier league footballer, still not sure on feeney.
