I am on every day reading posts but rarely comment but here is my take on things. I like many like Silva. Nice bloke similar to Martinez but he just lost his way and doesn't seem capable of turning it around. As a person I like him but as our manager I think I have run out of patience with him. Looking at the fixtures we have since the start of the season I was hoping that we would be up in the top four competing. But after the run of results I think it is time for him to go. I wish him well for the future, as I said as a person he seems like a nice bloke. Nut if we are to part ways we need to be like spurs and have a replacement ready to go rather than do the Everton thing and have to wait 5-6 weeks to get somebody new in.

Blueray, comparing Silva to Martinez personality is fair but coaching wise 'get a life'. Martinez is a very good coach but needs a DoF. Pair Martinez with say a Stubbs and we may have something.

Get a life? Where did I compare their coaching styles? I said as people I like them. That was the only comparison made.

What was the point of your post then. My butcher has a wonderful personality but more importantly he is a very good butcher.

BCT, RM a very good coach? He might be doing a good job with Belgium just now but look at what he has to work with. I remember him being, at best, a very average coach who struggled to get the team to defend!

If you read the post properly I think it makes clear sense. unlike Koeman or Big Sam I didn't particularly like either of them. Sam had his own agenda as far as I was concerned and that was to make a quick buck. Koeman didn't seem to have any sort of personality. So I don't see the harm in saying that I like Silva and I liked Roberto. The point i made is that both Silva and Roberto even though i liked them lost their way and couldn't turn it around and now it's time to go. Do I wish him the best for the future? Yes. It just hasn't worked out for him. My final point was that hopefully we have someone lined up immediately like Spurs did, no waiting around. If anyone needs to get a life it's you. Anyone who spends their time coming on to a forum slagging off the team they supposedly support day in day out regardless of how good or bad they are doing obviously has too much time on their hands and needs to get a life. I get you have an opinion like we all do but you just seem to come on here to wind people up because you have nothing better to do with your life. As for your butcher. just said really.

Bluepotato, excellent coach but shackled with Managerial jacket. National level (witness Koeman etc) they are no greater than senior coach. Martinez given an overall managerial (DoF) structure is now ideal.

But even in just a coaching role he can't coach defending.
That is not so obvious when the team plays 10 competitive games a season.

Then I must have blinked during his tenure because I didn't see an excellent coach. He was good a good man manager though. I think his style was always suited to international football rather than the club game. The same way that Mark Hughes had probably his best spell in management at Wales but I wouldn't want him either!
