If Silva does leave, Sean Dyche for me, although can't say I've seen his name linked unfortunately.

Agree0 Disagree0

Royal Toffee, he would certainly have us trying.

Too big a job for Dyche.

The way I see it Smit, is right now he wouldn't (not just him btw) be following in someone's giant footsteps he/ they have a blanc canvas to work imo which is why I always felt Utd was to big for David Moyes as a matter of fact.
He was following a big big legend, Marco is arguably as much of a nomark that we will ever get! Hopefully.

Dyche wouldn't be able to go around barking at his players at Everton he would be too under the spotlight and with some bigger names to manage aswell.
Everton is a different animal to Burnley and his ways just wouldn't sit right at Everton. That's my thought anyway.

{Ed025's Note - i agree smit..

Name a manager we have appointed in last 20 years where the job was bigger than the managerMoyes came from Preston and lasted 11 years, but yet Dyche been in prem for a while but too big for him, get real we ain’t getting a manager that’s won things.

25 Nov 2019 21:08:42
Well I don't agree because unless we hire a proven trophy winner, which is what I prefer btw we are atm feasting at the 'Beggars Banquet'
Look again at the guys that the pundits press et al are saying will come .

TBM, you nailed it, spot on we have to be realistic about this mate quite right.

Whats with all this "Too big a job business"?

Kendall to Everton, Fergie to Man U, Shanks to Liverpool, etc etc. All were young managers who were ready for a step up. Dyche, Howe, and others not getting a look in, but we are oh so ready to go back and look at failed has beens. A young manager with a good guide to advise him works well. Look at Mike Flynn at Newport being guided by Lennie Lawrence. Coach one day and now a manager being head hunted. Why can't we take the likes of Howe and pay the likes of Hoddle to guide him for his first years. If we can't get a big name then what have we got to lose other than take on a known loser.

25 Nov 2019 21:42:04
Well I can name 3. Martinez, koeman and Silva all 3 played the same players even though we were rubbish and not getting results. Why? Because they were too afraid to drop the big names and risk losing, even though they were losing.

''Why? Because they were too afraid to drop the big names and risk losing, even though they were losing. ''

Lol so that's the reason, Sigmund Freud over here, did they mention anything else while they were on your couch.

Or is that just a guess like? 🤣.

It's no coincidence those 3 managers haven't gone on to manage a bigger club than ours. Everton was the biggest gig they could get and they couldn't cut it.
Koeman and Martinez took the easy option to repair their reputation and took an international job. Silva will most likely do the same or go and manage somewhere like Turkey.
