Sensational result yesterday! Big Dunc was my idol growing up watching Everton, so it was especially pleasing to see the players show the same passion and desire that he did in his playing days for us. It was so heart warming to see his pride managing this amazing club.

I think the clamour to make him permanent manager is too early though. He admits himself that he is not ready, players need to prove over a number of games that they will constantly fight for victory for him, and he needs to show that he has different plans and tactical knowledge against a variety of opponents else we'll be looking at a new manager again in 12 months. Just look at Solksjaer to see how rash appointments based on sentiment works out. I'd personally keep him until end of January, give him time to thoroughly prove himself and see if he gives optimism for progression or if an established manager is the route to go, either way it's better than a short-term Moyes solution.

Our next 3 matches are very tough. It's so difficult to judge anybody on this run of games so i implore everybody to ease off on the inevitable abuse if things don't go well. Support us for once rather than desperately hoping for any little gripe to whinge about.

Definitely one for the future for me. Any manager is a risk Gerrard at Rangers Lampard at Chelsea both thrown in with little managment experience. If DF is in charge and we win or draw then why change? Takes the pressure off appointing a short term target while we try to get out number one.

After reading his programme notes I swear I could have taken on the entire Chelsea team and beaten them 3-1. I was completely taken in by his passion and love for the club. Running through brick walls would have been an easy ask after reading that.

So yes, keep him there for now so that we can patiently find the correct replacement, not that the Silva appointment was rushed though. It took us 6 months to get him. I just hope we get it right this time and start showing a return on these millions the club is spending on trying to get us up the league.

Worcester mate, who is clamouring, none I have read. Dunc did what he was supposed to do yesterday, it was a brilliant PR move by Kenwright and Moshri because the expectation was not there to win. It was there however, (from those of us that saw him play and every week see him metaphorically kicking every ball) , to see this side put in an owed performance of endeavour and never say die. That is what he achieved. For me any new Manager would be doing a huge service by having Dunc as his 2 I/ C.

Well you clearly don't read many posts despite responding on them all Billscrocodiletears. Who is clamouring - within 30 secs you find posts from Skylark, Goodison Grow, Dark Clouds and Pauly doing just that.

That was instant reaction to the game, not clamouring Worcester there is a difference. But opinions eh!
