This is not going to be a, popular Post, but an honest one.

Me personally I would of loved poch, but we have to accept the likes of poch, rafa, even perriera has apparently knocked us back now. We are not as an attractive of an offer as we think we are. To us blues who wouldn't want the job!?

But to a manager who is use to champions league, winning trophy, we are a, long way off that at present.

It pains, me to say it but I think we will end up with moyes with Duncan no2. More out of desperation than anything else, as more an more candidates rule them selves out.

As a team who are not competing in Europe or challenging in the league I agree probably not an attractive proposition.

However I’m sure that the manager will be getting a wage on par if not more than the top 6 managers in the league which is an attractive proposition.

Hopefully we can get a good manager who is willing to try and get us competing in the league and back into Europe and invest in the project because they will clearly get well rewarded for this.

Maybe the other way around big dunc no 1 moyes no 2 but would rather not see moyes back.

{Ed025's Note - im a no to dithering dave as well dunc..

Sorry disagree, I believe we are a very attractive proposition. All the incoming manager has to do in their first season is get us into the top eight to six ( five to four second year) , they will be given money to spend and the chance to enhance their reputations. All while receiving a very good wage.

4th or 5th in the second season? Are you being serious? You think Everton will finish above 4 of either Leicester, arsenal, city, utd Liverpool, Chelsea, spurs in 2 seasons? That's is not going to happen. If we got 6th after 2 years I'd be over the moon.

11 Dec 2019 00:37:42
Ok where were Leicester last season? Look at them now. Change of manager change of format.
Their are not a lot of good teams in this league right now, so yes I am being serious. A good manager with the right backing could do it in two years.

Not surprised Pereira has turned us down. 30 million to stay in China for one more year with low tax rates and be set up financially for life or come to a club struggling in England with a record of getting rid of managers every 18 months and doing nothing for their reputation.

I agree with glt59 above where I think he is saying Ancelotti might be a good call. He's not that old at 60 and has won everything
Louie Van Gaal a bit older but very successful although his football isn't terribly attractive it's better than Big Sams and gets results
Emery might want to put right his reputation and prove himself in the Premiership but then it's us then taking the risk as he might not be able to
Moyes - no. Look at his CV. No trophies, Last 4 jobs ended quickly. If he hadn't been Everton manager previously he'd be in the not good enough bin without a second thought
DF - a massive gamble - not for me
Pochetino, Arteta, ten Haag would all be great signings but they're not going to come are they?
Howe, Dyche. Both have positives and negatives but I doubt they would come and certainly not before next season. Dyche would be my preference as, although he is not an Evertonian like Howe, I think he would get 'Everton' more
Who else

What a mess.

But at the first sign of a blip, you could be out of a job with your reputation damaged. (though 1/ 2 of the last 4 did go on to manage international teams) .

I’m not so sure we are that great a proposition for many managers. Not whilst sitting so low in the table with an unbalanced squad and clear issues with CB and CF positions. It’s a risky post to take on and I’m not sure who would rise to the challenge.

What do you reckon Ed25 - Who is out there that you rate to do the job and would possibly come?

{Ed025's Note - i wish i knew BR, all managers are a risk and i have been happy with our picks originally so i dont think im the person to ask mate, i can tell you who i dont want...moyes, howe, dyche or allardyce, i have nothing against british managers but their brand of football is outdated and naive imo..

11 Dec 2019 09:46:39
I'm in same boat as you ED025. Happy when Martinez, Koeman and Silva came. Accepted the reasons behind Big Sam (for about a month) . And look where those 4 got us.

Agree with 3 out of 4 of your don't wants but believe Dyche could do a job for us. He could sort out our defense and once we got our 4 midfielders back I think he would look at playing 2 up front - he does at Burnley and could play attacking football with our squad more so than the players at Burnley. I also think he gets the Everton ethos and the fans would warm to him

Anyway with my record so far who am I to say?

{Ed025's Note - we are as bad as each other bw, we would,nt know a good manager if one bit us on the arse mate, im staying out of it this time and hope whoever gets the gig is the right fit..
