I was thinking regarding what's happened since Moyes left. Are we as the fans partially to blame.

Do we have u realistic expectations for are club. From the outside you'd probably say we are a mid table team nothing more.

Yet when a manager comes in and produces a mid table finish we are all instantly calling for his head.

Food for thought?

From an outside point of view I suppose that’s what people might see or think, however as you know being an evertonian Nil Satis Nisi Optimum runs through us like Blackpool rock, cut us we bleed royal blue, expectations should never be anything less than being the best club in the world, disappointment is borne season after season, yet we hope that the next game will bring us joy and we can hold our heads high once again and enjoy watching match of the day and reading the echo. Now we have a world class manager, the promises of a world class ground, a billionaire owner and hopefully another in waiting to invest, the world class team needs building now because nothing else is good enough for world class fans, and to those who are not Everton fans they won’t get what everton is and we won’t care what their perception is. So in answer to your question our expectations should always be unrealistic until such times as we are once again world class.

{Ed025's Note - that cheered me up mate..

I personally don't think we have unrealistic expectations. If we didn't show our displeasure at the results then the board would think we are happy and not change the manager. It is the fans that make the board become more ambitious who then drive the manager for better results.

Are we mid table? Probably, but we should always strive to be better. If we don't then we may as well pack in and fold as a football club.

I think the question that I would ask as opposed to us fans having unrealistic expectations is, are we unlucky as a club? We never seem to have anything go for us whether its decisions on the field, getting an easier draw in the cup competitions or decisions off the field such as financial fair play ruling etc. All these things have meant that we find ourselves battling against everything every season hence it effects where we finish. It appears that decisions always go in favour of the so called "big six".
