If we win Saturday we will be level on points with Sheffield Utd on 36pts. I hope we don’t regret those 2pts we dropped v Newcastle, that would have meant we could have been upto 38pts just 3pts behind 4th place. How crazy is that? A couple of big results which I think we have in us could still give us a chance of top 6 finish. It has definitely been a chance this season to have got into top four.

Best not to look back on the waht if's, just take it a game at a time now. if we qualify for europe in anyway, great! However let's not forget that this team needs time to adapt to the new methods still and hopefully will push on next season. the lads will go for as high as they can if its european football bonus and they deserve credit where its due, if not then we look forward to seeing what carlo can really do with an everton side after a summer of backing and 8 months of adjusting football.

I agree with wblue2 there are a few games we could if and but about.
If we can win the majority of our home games and draw the majority of our away games then we will get into europe.
We drew the newcastle game but won our away game so let's just say they evened each other out.

Not sure it's quite as cut and dried as that is it Smit? There's games you should win and Newcastle was one of them. If we get beat at home by Liverpool I wouldn't say its a bad result whereas for example I would be disappointed with a point away at Norwich.

We should have beat Newcastle but you could say we should have drawn or lost to Watford.

Liverpool, Man Utd, Arsenal, and Chelsea games in a row after palace will either make or break any European chances.
We should go into these games in good form and a chance of points in all of these games.

On current form since Ancelotti took over we are second in that only behind some team called Liverpool whoever they are 😉
Joint second with Man City since Silva was sacked.

And we've done that with our starting midfielders out. It's amazing what Carlo has done. More consistency and cohesion each game. Top 6 here we come.

We should have beat newcastle yeah, but we didn't so let's forget about it now we got a point. tough tough game against palace at the weekend who are under the radar having a more than decent season. the games against chelsea arsenal untied are huge as we've seen worse teams than us pick up points at stamford bridge and the emirates this year. united at home is of course also huge and hopefully us as the goodison faithful get behind the lads to get a result.

I don't get this we should beat this side but loose to another. There are far too many variables that affect the match so to blindly say we should beat a particular team prior to actually playing a match is just ridiculous. Sheffield United is a prime example I would have thought most fans would have thought their team would have beaten them home and away? I just hope we beat everyone.

Totally get what you're saying sa90, just think that there's a difference between playing against Liverpool for example and a bottom half team.

We can't be expected to beat Liverpool who are far superior to us, if we do it's a bonus.

But there are teams that we are better than, and if we are beaten it's points dropped because we haven't performed as well as we could/ should have done.
