Just a thought. Is Niasse turning down clubs so he can sit on his 65k a week wages until contract runs down, knowing that as a free agent he will probably take a higher signing on fee. Had chance to go to Leeds for rest of season and tutned it down. Think the lads just pure greed to be fair.

{Ed002's Note - No, and there is still a chance he will leave this month.}

Just thought when he supposedly said he wants to remain in prem, that dropping down to championship, for half a season, he would get games and if he us as confident in his abilities as he makes out, that he can score the goals to bring Leeds up. If he leaves soon I wish him well but just looks to us supporters like he is running contract down.

{Ed002's Note - If he sees his contract out he is available to the club. If he dropped down a level interest in him would wane. Lokomotiv Moscow will take him but want a wage reduction or Everton to release him from his contract - they may come up with another plan. Else he can talk to clubs in Turkey now and try and sort out a summer move - which I understand remains his preferred option.}

Thank you for reply Ed002. Just wondering if he was really interested in leaving before windows shut. Thanks again.

{Ed002's Note - If the right offer was on the table then yes.}

To be fair it was the club that offered him that contract. So how many on here would take a pay cut to move to another job? No, then why should he.

11 Feb 2020 15:38:03
I think probably some people would if they had had a contract that made them set for life and had any self-motivation or desire to succeed. And from what Ed says that is the case with Niasse and he would go if gets the right offer of where he wants to go.

This is what’s known as poor recruitment.

12 Feb 2020 04:55:58
It's not his fault he was never good enough

The fault is with whoever made the decision to sign him and give him the wages and the length of contract he has

Certainly one of the worst signings we have ever made imo, despite his smile and good work rate.

A bad, bad decision.

{Ed025's Note - im with you bw..

Whatever said about Niasse the lads dignity in face of his (hopefully) , past treatment by the Club should not be questioned. His well goals at needed times should also be appreciated. Perhaps we should respect that and appreciate his contribution instead of castigating him. When he does leave, I for one will wish him well.

12 Feb 2020 09:32:04
Well he's never going to have a better wage packet. If I was him I'd sit it out too. Madness to think a guy who's been berated for 4 years is going to walk away to save a club ran by a billionaire a few quid. Would you? Thought not. Maybe he'll get a decent signing on fee for his next club as well. About the only sensible thing the guys done with his time here. Set for life.

He could of gone to Leeds with the prospect of a bonus if they get promoted and certainly if he banged the goals in would then have been able to broker a good signing on fee and a decent wage.

He might be getting a decent wage now, however when that ends in less than 5 Months, then the next club can offer a lot less wages.

He said he wants to go to Turkey, but for a player who will not be attached to a club he could end up a lot worse off in the long run.

{Ed002's Note - Wages in Turkey are very good - but it is not about money.}

I think Everton are part to blame with playing him during January and giving the player the incentive to stay.

Possibly to try and put him in the shop window, but it has backfired on the club.

It would have made more sense to give Anthony Gordon those minutes instead of Niasse.

Maybe Niasse has one last chapter to add to his Everton career, before he sails off into the sunset, in the Summer, if not before.

{Ed002's Note - I know Carlo Ancelotti well enough to say that he would never pick a player to put him in the "shop window". The situation is simple and as I have explained. The player would like to return to Turkey to play and he can talk directly with Turkish clubs about a move in the summer. Lokomotiv have spoken with the player and with Everton to no avail - they will very likely make a further offer in the coming week or so.}

It doesn't really mater what Niasse does or doesn't do the fact is he is under contract and honouring that contract. He has been nothing but professional in the way he conducts himself and has always shown a great attitude and desire to perform to the best of his ability when given the chance. In my opinion he should not be getting any stick what so ever regardless of what opportunities he has been given to leave. It was obvious they not right for him so that's the end of the matter. If you want to whinge then look to the people that signed him on the terms he is on not the player himself.

12 Feb 2020 19:20:58
Absolutely right sa90 he signed for however many years and has every right to sit till summer when it runs out, if that's what happens.

{Ed002's Note - Niasse is not sitting his time out at all. He is available to be used.}

13 Feb 2020 19:11:22
Meant sit out his contract not sit on his backside, apologies for the confusion.
