Some of the ffp talk has me completely baffled. I am as big, optimistic, defensive and many times called bitter Evertonian as anyone on here . Having said that as a club sadly since the Premier League started ( which Everton had as big a hand as anyone in creating ) we have fallen down the pecking order . To hear people comparing us to Man Utd is laughable. Get in you car and travel to any place outside Merseyside, or get on a plane and all you see is Liverpool Man U Chelsea Real Madrid and Barcelona. That's where the money is . Even Man City with there recent success aren't anywhere near that level . It hurts but it's true .

You're bang on Megsey. Football is a money game. The more income/ fans you have the more money and success you have.

Everton were trying to grow the brand in Africa during the off season. It must be difficult with the bigger teams dominating the USA and Asia. And as you say even the success city have had hasn't really changed there fan base to what UTD have.

UTD seem to have an almost unlimited amount of funds regardless off winning trophies or not.

True Megsey but time can change that. Consistently getting into europe can change that but it will take time, taking the place of a Man u, Chelsea, Spurs or Arsenal has to be the first target for us.
There is no better time to do it as some of the big 6 are faltering and making some bad decisions.

Man Utd brand took decades to grow no matter how much money you have like Man City there brand is still far away ahead of anyone else.

FFP! We posted a loss on top of a previous profit and currently some 10 mill within Prem criteria. Yes on the surface we do appear (under FFP) to be sailing close but I have faith that the roaming eye will return to the fiscal ball, sooner rather than later.

The problem being Bill we will lose the +30 from our 3 year rolling P/ L come June 30th and replace it with current estimates of -50-60 balance sheet. Leaving us to explain to the premier league how we are going to turn a profit of about + 60-70 million next year.

Nope! The profit only needs to balance. Personally I am fed up with the whole thing. Business is continually hamstrung, mainly to give some desk jockey a reason for being. Simply put, reduced deficit is the ability to service debt.

I'm not sure you understand the issue we have come June.
