with all this chaos going on just hope every one is well first and formost and secondly i would happily see matches played behind closed doors not going to lie its frustrating not seeing the blue boys play or any other matches to watch to that matter let's hope football can resume in april touch wood.

I would prefer if we just bin the season completely and prepare for next. It would make a mockery of football results if match is expected to go ahead for one of the teams to suddenly be without players due to infection.

theres to many complications if the premier league was to be scrapped who gets champions league european places and who also gets relegated i understand if it did like due to the situation we are currently in but surly must be some way round it to play the remaining matches this season i'd be gutted if it was scrapped tbh.

{Ed002's Note - It would simply be frozen as it is and the top four go in to the Champions League etc. No relegation.}

fair enough ed002) do you think it will be frozen or can it resume.

{Ed002's Note - It depends what happens with with the issues that most of the world is facing. In the best case scenario the games in the Premier League could resume areound the end of May and be played two a week by the end of June and we are done. Else the options become fuzzier but the most sensible remains drawing a line across the league where we are now, putting the top four in the Champions League, the next three in the Europa League (unless the FA cup can be squeezed in with Norwich, Arsenal or Newcastle winning, or Manchester United winning the Europa League if that can be completed, where alterations can be made. No relegation and two promoted from the Championship. This won't suit everybody but it is the best solution I am aware of across the board - and it is on the table.}

thanks for that info ed002) so could 5 teams get relegated from premier league next season if leeds and west brom get promoted or would it be just 3 teams that go down and we play extra matches thanks for reply.

{Ed002's Note - The plan is four for each of the next two rather than five in one go, but I guess that could be an option.}

This season needs to be finished, even if it takes several months, starting a new season is madness, what happens if it comes back halfway through the new season, then that gets put on hold.

I know some posters would be happy to see it null and void for obvious reasons, make no mistake I am a bitter Blue, but the right thing to do is to try and complete this season if possible.

But forget if and when, let’s make sure we put peoples lives first and foremost.

The one 'opportunity' in all the madness is to align for a couple years with Qatar 2022. Finish season July- September. Do Euros in October. Start new seasons January-October for a few years. Not sure how the rest of you feel but after 1 empty weekend I so miss Football, I even would mean letting them have the trophy if we could start again soon.

what about players out of contract at the end of the normal season and the season resumes past their contract.
