V Bayern Munich in semi final of cup winners cup. Amazing atmosphere and a great game, hard to think of any better match that I've had the privilege to watch.

I was at the Newcastle game, opening day of 96/ 97, been at other games that had far more riding on them (Wimbledon&Coventry) but that day has always stood out for me, Alan Shearer was all the papers were talking about since his record at the time move from Blackburn (15mill) obviously Newcastle would have been one of the favs for the league aswell. we battered them, never seen Dunc have a better game, Kanchelskis was flying, and Gary Speed. brilliant! If things had turned out differently with injuries that season, I believe we definitely could have achieved something. alas it wasn't to be. again! Haha.

Would have loved to have gone to Goodison in the 80's but bit young and didn't live in the area. Watched the Bayern semi final on dvd few years back and brilliant proper game of skillful and physical football.

My two faves I have got to the game for (been fair few bad ones ha ha) are

Everton v Coventry (last game, pitch invasion)

Or Everton 6 West ham 0 in 1999. We wollaped them, but also the West Ham fans were on great form taking the piss out of their own team 👍👍.

Mine also game v Bayern Munich at Goodison closely followed by the 4 - 4 against the Reds in the cup. I actually saw a woman in her 70's doing the dying fly after one of the goals. Will we ever see the likes again?

Many great games come to mind including a few derby wins, However EFC v Borrussia Munchen Gladbach in the European Cup in 1970 that ended 1-1 AET, and we became the first team to have a penalty shoot out.
I will always remember Alan Ball standing a German penalty taker and pointing the direction he believed it was going to go and Andy Rankin duly taking his advice and making the save, We win the shoot out. The atmosphere was fantastic that night with the old wooden stands and everyone stamping there feet in unison.

Went for a couple of weird ones from my youth, I am curious if anyone else remembers them. we drew 4-4 with Leeds at Goodison I think 99-00 season, Davie Weir last minute header to get the point. then in 04/ 05 we came back from 2-1 down against Bolton (managed by Allardyce. just saying) to win 3-2, Jaidi scored own goal for the winner. From more recent memory, I would say West Ham away when Baines put the two free kicks in and Lukaku scored winner on debut, amazing game and what a result. I had many more but those three came to mind.
