Just seen the rumours about the Ukrainian and French full backs, these are the sort of lower risk signings we need, looks like we are using our scouting network for once and not advisors signing over rated players on huge contracts.
Hope these rumours are true.

Agree KPD - we need to move away from the big named players coming to the end of their time in the game looking at one more payday from us.
However until we start signing the likes of the players mentioned it’s only rumours.
Genuinely hope we start to recruit players who want to come to us to improve both us and themselves rather than those just wanting to improve their bank balances!

Lower risk? If the rumours are true it’s a 20mill deal. Also the fact that we have one of the best left backs around already and have been desperate for a new right back makes this even more ridiculous.
If we do sign him then Digne is more than likely being sold in Jan.

With his age £20m can be an investment, plus transfer fees are not the major issue, it is the wage bill.
Lucas Digne can be great but also he has a calamitous own goal or red card in him and I am pretty sure he will be out of the door if the rumours are to be believed.
And on that note, if any player wants out because he isn't getting pampered and getting all his own way they are welcome to join players like Moise Kean and get out of our club.

It looks like that's the case anyway, Sir Loin. There seems to be a story in the press every day highlighting the fact that Digne and Rafa have had a falling out. If that is the case, a LB is more of a priority than a RB as we have only Godfrey as backup right now. We can only hope that the club will address the right back situation in the same window.

The way this clubs being run we will probably loan Digne out to a club playing in the Champions League. Also what message is this sending to Nkounkou? Will we have another young promising left back leave the club.
At the moment we have approximately thirty U23 players in the squad, with another five out on loan. Now as a law of averages you would expect at least two to three players to come through. Yet to date we haven’t seen any, and just sitting on the bench doesn’t really count.
First team squad we have three keepers, eight defenders, eight midfielders and seven forwards.

Bob, I'm not sure if Nkounkou has any sort of release clause in his loan contract so I'm guessing he is with Standard until the summer. If Digne has kicked his last ball for us then we need a replacement in the next window. We can't afford to go into the new year without full back cover on either side. Whichever way you look at it, Nkounkou will be cover next season, to start with, for whoever is in the LB position.
